Golf V R32 :: How To Remove The A-Pillar Trim

Bought my R32 in late July. So far I've just been lurking on the board, but today I have a question. I'm having difficulty removing the A-Pillar trim.

View 3 RepliesIs there a Trick to remove the A-pillar trim? I pulled all of the screws that I could find. Looking at the pic, there should be a screw near the rear of the Dash, but I am not seeing one there. It feels caught on something as I pry. I don't want to pry too hard to just have it crack/break.
I have pulled the black speaker panel at the front on the dash already. That was a pain to do with the windshield in the way.
Also, any tips on removing the trim around the sliding door window in the pic? Pulled all the screws and it still feels attached to something at the top.
I'm looking for the process to remove the exterior black glossy b pillar trim on the front door. My wife decided to open my door against a ladder and it has a 3mm scratch that's going to big the piss out of me so I'm looking to replace it. Also looking for the PN as well.
View 2 RepliesExperiencing the black b-pillar trim creak? Just pressing on that black vertical plastic trim causes the plastic sounding "creak".
Just curious... what was the solution? It's driving me nuts.. it is so sensitive that when the car just moves into the sunlight, it starts creaking as it expands in the heat.
So my GTI is going back to dealer tomorrow to deal with a few problems that are driving me insane.
First the hatch is rubbing against the bumper in the corners and has worn away the paint on both sides.
Then there is the A pillar trim on passenger side that has come loose at the top, also we have the rear lights that are letting in water on both sides and finally the start button is starting to fall apart and has cracked!!
I have owned 4 vw's from new and never encountered this level of shoddy workmanship. I can only put it down to new plant and new model, very annoying.
Purchased in June and has 12,000 and love it but these niggles are frustrating.
Both of my doors do it, especially as they are heating up and cooling down. If you push on them you can hear the same noise that they make while driving.
View 1 RepliesThe fabric has been falling off most of the interior pieces, so I figured I'd start with trying to reglue the fabric on the A-Pillars. I searched the topic & found threads that said to remove the airbag emblem by prying gently, then remove a screw behind that. So I gently remove the emblem & find I have snapped off the 2 posts holding it in place, & there is no screw behind the emblem. What is the removal procedure?
View 24 RepliesHow to remove the rear side interior trim? I want to install a rear view camera. I need to pull the trim to run the wiring along the left side to the floor and to the front of the car.
My understanding is I need to get access to the left rear side of the hatch, then underneath the carpet along the rear door trim, etc. I've seen some posts on the 2 door, but there appear to be differences between that and the 4 door.
My 2015 sonata sports have it's passenger side A-pillar trim cover keeps on popping out, I pushed it back in couple days ago, and now it pops out again. Think I can take it to the dealership to get it fixed?
View 4 RepliesI've got a 2003 camry LE/V6. The interior trim fabric to the right and left of the rear window is curling back on the trim panel away from the glass. This has been happening slowly over a year or so and now has reached a point of requiring repair. I've searched the site, but haven't found anything directly related. These panels appear to be separate from the headliner and the rear window shelf. How these panels come out? If these snap into clips and can be removed, I might be able to match fabric closely enough to be OK.
View 2 RepliesThe pasenger side trim piece that covers the A-pillar air bag in my 07 XLE will not stay in place. It becomes loose and you notice a gap at the top. You can smack it back in place and it appears to snap back in to where it belongs, but 15 minutes of driving and it comes loose again. I have replaced the clip (part number 90950-A8001) that holds it in, but it still just comes loose again a short time later.
View 8 RepliesLooking to wrap the dash trim the piece across the dash and the trim around the information display. Any tips? Also for the console.
View 3 RepliesI'm in process of changing my interior trim, had removed already all trim from dashboard etc. but can't figure out how remove trim around gear gaiter, trim with ESP and Autohold. Pulled really hard, nothing happens, don't want to break it.
View 1 RepliesSo i've been searching for ways to remove the bumper/door chrome trim to change to black but cannot find anything about the b5 or 5.5. What i'm trying to do is get the chrome to black but cannot figure out a safe way to remove them to either wrap in black vinyl, paint or just replace with black strips. I'm not trying to completely remove them just get the chrome to black. Its an 03

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to upgrade my speakers. I got the ones in the front and rear doors installed. I hoping there is a way I can access the speakers without having to completely remove all of the rear panels.
View 8 RepliesHow do I remove the trim that's around the pull handle and the lock/unlock button? Not the trim by your belly that has window buttons but the ones that are near your side mirrors. Mine are scuffed to poop and I would like to replace the trim and the lock/unlock buttons.

It is an Australian Elite model. I can hear the click when the remote is pressed. How can I get the door open to remove the intyerior trim?
How to remove the black outer trim from the dash area around the radio? I need to do a little sub-dash mod to fit my new double DIN head unit in place, and don't want to break the dash trim in the process. View 2 RepliesI have a 'new to me' 2007 F-350SD super cab and need to run some wiring inside. What I don't know is how the heck the trim pieces are attached and how to remove them without breaking them! If it ain't held on with screws, nuts, bolts...
View 2 RepliesI have a 2004.5 Gli that I'm getting really excited to fix. First question as a Noob how many miles can I get out of the engine with regular up keep. It has 140k? I just had the timing belt and water pump done and it feels great but i dont want to get into a huge money sandpit.
There is water getting in when it rains which has caused the liner to lift off of the A pillar and the B pillar gets moist as well. No damage to the head liner at all just the pillars and the door liner has gotten damaged and lifted. I've already checked the the sun room drains/drain nipples they work great.
I have to get the front end fixed- New valance and paint. I'm sure this will have to wait till next summer so i can save the funds to have a good paint job/blend of the hood and fenders. Plus my driver side door needs a touch up after being keyed.
After searching the forum all day yesterday i found the color code for the rc's and was going to get them powder coated due to curb rash and really bad chips. But is the oem brilliant silver color the best for the Grey metallic color GLi?
Obviously I am wanting to first work on the exterior aesthetics of the car first. Engine performance is fine, I am not a heavy footed driver on the streets and on the hwy it does fine at 90. But I do see a chip and FMIC in the next year being a possibility.
