I just bought my R32 this past weekend and it's been a really great car to drive. I'm just wondering if the whizzing sound (sounds like a little fan or whir) coming from the engine compartment on the passenger side is normal. It gets louder as I add throttle.
View 1 RepliesI think I'm becoming an automotive hypochondriac ever since I started owning this car...I was sitting at a light the other day and all of sudden I heard a faint sound coming from what seemed to be the passenger side rear of the car. It sounded like a ticking clock or a heart beat...it was some what faint, but still noticeable. It is intermittent though and has no particulars when it happens and seems to go away when I begin to drive off... Fuel pump? Gremlins?

View 1 RepliesFYI This is on the passenger side. Should I just replace the whole metal shaft? Can I just replace the rubber thing that is severed? If this is the wheel bearing do i need to get it repacked?
I am replacing the whole suspension because I started hearing a "pfft" sound going over bumps and sometimes a clunk on the passenger side when cornering to the right. is this severed leaking rubber thing the main cause of the clunk perhaps?
When I've been driving I've been hearing what sounds like plastic constantly tapping something from the passenger side. I thought it was the GPS I put in there, but it's covered with a microfiber cloth and it's pretty tight there so I don't really expect movement. I checked the door pocket and there's nothing there that I can see or feel.
View 2 RepliesI just got a 2001 Jetta 1.8t 100k miles, and had some repairs done - timing belt - K03S Turbo - Forge Tip - 2.5 Turboback Exhaust. I bought the car without a working turbo, yesterday I got the car back from the shop and it was a night and day difference..... but to my point, today I had some CEL's pop - Charge Pressure control positive deviation, Pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve, and secondary Air injection system incorrect flow detected. Now I have never owned a turbocharged car before, but when my windows are rolled up and im accelerating, I can hear what I am guessing is the turbo starting to spin over by my passenger side(2k ish rpms+) except it doesn't have clean spin sounds, kinda sounds like bearings are goofed or something. This noise only happens when I am accelerating or cruising? I also have felt really no change is boost or power!!
View 2 RepliesI have the most terrible clunking/rubbing sound on my right passenger side, especially when I'm turning left. When I drive straight it sounds like the wheel is hopping even when going over minuscule imperfections in the road. I also get a terrible rub when going over speed bumps or into grooves and dips in the road.
I've searched and searched but cannot come up with a answer towards rectifying the issue. My car hasn't been lowered; I'm running the stop 337 suspension. I've replaced the following within the past two years:
-control arm bushings
-ball joints
-tie rod ends
-upper strut bushings and bearings
-passenger side axle
-dog bone mount
-engine mount
-tranny mount
Most recently:
-front struts
-sway bar end-links
-driver's side axle
It seems to like everything should be solid considering I've done all of this crap. I don't understand why I'm having this issue and why it sounds like it is getting worse and worse.
My passenger side has been making thud noises on a number of occasions on my 01 Jetta 1.8t:
1. When I go over bumps, the front passenger side will make a loud thud noise.
2. When I take my foot off the brake, there will be a loud thud from the front passenger side as well.
3. When making left hand turns and I begin to turn the wheel back to return it to its original position, there is a thud coming from the front passenger side as well.
It does not continuously click like a bad CV joint would. All these symptoms came at the same time period.
Ever notice when you shut off the engine and get out of your tig sometimes there is a motor whizzing sound near the rear? Well I finally noticed what it was. Just so happened to be looking down at my electronic parking brake when the sound occurred and noticed the indicating light on my parking brake turn on and off with the sound. It must be cycling the parking brake to keep it in good working order.
View 3 RepliesMy passanger side blade has been hitting the side of my windshield randomly since the car was new. Wasn't able to replicate the issue at the dealer so I was pulling the blade off last night to investigate and broke the small square retaining clip (Red arrow). Do the clip assembly (Blue arrow) can be purchased separately or if I have to buy a whole new wiper.

View 6 RepliesOk so here's the deal.. A few weeks back I started to notice my passenger side window started to roll slower than the driver side, not by much but its pretty obvious enough every time you either roll the window down or up.. I made an appointment with a VW service center to have them look at it but they said they can't do anything about it .. Is this true ..? The service guy told me that their would be no way to make the motor of the window go any faster or slower.. However I'm back here again due to some clunking/ticking noise every time I roll my pax side window which develop during their first assessment.. So they ordered me a new window regulator which is getting put in now.. The main and initial problem as to why I made an appointment in the first place was for VW service center to fix my pax side window rolling a bit slowly. Now since they are replacing the regulator of my pax side window I asked the service guy whether this would fix the problem of the window rolling slower compare to the driver side and he bluntly said no.. "we cannot make the motor of the window go slower or faster".. Is their any way to fix the rate of the window to go up or down..?

As I want to use the electrical mirrors to adjust my driver side mirror, passenger side mirror moves too. Is it possible that these faults caused by not coded ECU?
I connected ground wire of my LED to blue and black cable connected to the mirror and ran another wire from unit 10 in 16 pin door connector to live wire from my LED.
I have a mkvi gti with all stock suspension except rear sway bar. And I'm right about to order driver gear springs. But have a question about suspension. My rear driver side of the car sits about half inch lower then then rear passenger side on a flat ground. Would this be caused by springs? Or struts? Or what. Planning on ordering the driver gear springs but what the real problem is. I want the driver gear so I'm a bit lowered but not crazy low since the roads in my home town are awful and my street I have to do figure 8's all the way down it to not hit a pot hole.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 2.0t 6mt w/ 60k miles which I bought new. Ever since I can remember when I am stopped at stop lights or driving slowly (less than 10mph), i sometimes hear a knock knock knock coming from under the hood. It normally happens 8 times in a row, perfectly spaced (probably 1 thunk every second). It almost sounds like an electric valve or pump cycling/priming/purging. I would say that this 8 knock cycle happens just a few times a week. I have tried to capture the sound with my blackberry, but it is pretty quiet.
View 16 RepliesMy 2007 manual transmission Hyundai elantra makes a single "tch" sound in the front passenger side. It does it at high speeds in 5th gear over long distances. Also if the car sits for a while it will make the noise right after shifting to second gear if the rpms are a bit high. What it could be?
View 2 RepliesWe have a 2010 Prius Type 5 with about 18K miles. I've noticed at times that after having parked the car in the garage for several hours, that there is a soft "whirring" sound on the passenger side rear of the car. I'm assuming this is the battery fan, because it sounds like a fan and I can't think of anything else back there that would make a "fan"-like sound? Is there any other device back there that could make a "fan"-like sound while parked (it's cold weather here, so it's probably around 40 deg. F or less in the garage)? It makes this noise for 5-10 min. and then stops. If this is the battery fan, why would it run when the car is cold?
View 15 RepliesThere is a knocking sound coming from the passenger side dash board in my 2010 Taurus. I found a youtube video that indicated in was a recirculation door motor. I replaced that but the knocking is still there.
View 8 RepliesStarted a month ago. Whenever I go over a bump, steep incline, or even just turn right (not left) the car makes this creaking, almost groaning, sound from the right rear.
Hard to isolate it since when I push down on the right rear from the outside I can't hear anything. Gonna head into the dealership to see what they think this week but it's always a fight trying to get them to do in warranty service .
