View 21 RepliesFor the past couple of days, I've been hearing the sound of pouring, sloshing liquid when I make a right hand turn. It comes from down below the dashboard, toward the middle. It seems to happen only when I've had the air conditioning on, and only when I make a right turn. Today, some liquid actually trickled out onto my foot. What might be going on and how I can get it taken care of inexpensively?
View 5 RepliesI am a happy owner of a 98 Honda Accord Lx (4 cylinder). This car and I have been through a lot. A few weeks ago I went into the dealership because the check engine light came on. They said I had no oil in the car, did an oil change, and sent me on my way. The following week I broke down after coolant came pouring from my car.
A different dealership said that there was an oil leak that compromised the hose carrying the antifreeze, which caused it to break, and as a result the thermometer broke. My first question... do I confront the first dealership that swore they checked & inspected everything to figure out why my oil was so low? Now, the question of MOST IMPORTANCE... The second mechanic that worked on it told me that the transmission was going. It was brought to my attention about 9 months ago that there may be a small leak in the transmission. Well, it still ran fine. Occasionally it wouldn't have the smoothest shift, but was nothing big.
Well, the same week the second mechanic mentioned this, and my need to start looking for a new car, the transmission is a complete mess! It jerks and won't shift as quickly, and I can't think of how to describe it easily, but when it jerks it does it multiple times.
I just stopped for gas and as I was walking into the store I heard a poof sound and my car was smoking and all my coolant came pouring out from under the engine, I checked the two hoses coming off the radiator and there both connected and not wet, the leak came from somewhere other than that. 2003 Hyundai Tiburon 2.7 liter GT...
View 9 RepliesI am driving and my engine suddenly overheats. I pull over and see that my coolant is pouring out. I have it towed to a mechanic. The mechanic ran diagnostics and told me the problem was the water pump. After I agreed to that, he called and said he took it out for a test and the thermostat was broken. After I agreed to that, he took the car out again and now says the head gasket needs replacing. I asked why he didn't find everything at the start. He said he needed to test drive it to find out. Is this really how it works?

My buddy install a BPD air/oil oil cooler in his 2003 F250 last week and now there is coolant pouring out the tail pipe. I haven't seen it but he tells me there is quite a bit coming out. It wasn't doing this before we installed the BPD oil cooler. Normally I would say bad EGR cooler but his EGR is deleted. This is the 3rd BPD cooler I've put in and this is the first time I've had any issues after the install. The install went smooth other than we broke the radiator and had to install a new one. I feel bad cause I'm hoping it wasn't something I caused but I just can't think of anything I did during this install that would cause coolant to be getting into the exhaust. He just had it towed to the local Ford dealership.

View 10 Replies12v VR6. Have smoke pouring out of the back here. The coolant is really hot but its not smoking from the reservoir. In the second picture you can see a liquid its that brown green stuff. It is fresh and wet not a stain. Also in the third pick there is some of that around the sparkplug wire. Also smells burnt.
The oil in the dipstick isn't milky like a blown headgasket would. However the oil inside the oil cap is a very dark brown. What is it? I'm thinking head gasket but this is my only lead.
Today, I noticed a brownish liquid residue on the left of the engine bay and I haven't noticed this before.
I just came from my 10,000 mile service (at 2,650 miles) yesterday and I can't believe they did not spot this.

I have an 02 jetta 1.8t just recently put oil in it and it's now pouring white smoke at idle and right around when I'm in 3rd. When parked and running it's puking oil and I have oil sprayed all in the engine bay. I have it sitting now and there's still a drip.

Pours out heavy black smoke.
New Air Cleaner, pulled plugs, all smell of gasoline, they don't look black, like I normally would expect gas fouled plugs to look. I read that these are prone to clogged fuel injectors? If so, all 6 at once? Also told that the timing slipping can cause this.
This morning I started up my car and I heard the sound of liquid swooshing about. I thought "ok" I checked for leaks later and found a pink almost clear liquid dripping from underneath the driver's side. It doesn't smell like anything but I figure it must be coolant though the coolant tank levels seem about right.
View 2 RepliesOkay so recently I was driving my 2000 Jetta and the coolant temp light came flashing on, when I went to check the coolant I was surprised to discover that it was like a mud brown color, almost looks like peanut butter. From everything I have read this can be from a few things, either rust build up that is gunking everything up and oil getting into the coolant somehow. I'm pretty sure its rust build up but I was wondering what everyone thinks about this, I was also not using G12 coolant which I'm told now is the premier brand for VW's.

View 5 RepliesSo I have a 1994 Intrepid I am working on. Has a definite misfire. I replaced the #5 injector about a month ago because the plug was soaked with fuel so I suspected a stuck injector. All was fine for a short time but now the problem is back. It is pouring fuel out of the exhaust. I pulled codes and came back with 12 27 51 43 and 21. I assume all are related to this problem. I'm guessing its a wiring or pcm issue.

View 1 RepliesI'd noticed an oil leak drivers side and upon investigation it appears the rack has developed a leak. I lifted the car on the vehicle lift and when I did noticed oil pouring out of the boot surrounding the steering linkage coming from the steering rack. With the tires dropped the full amount this created a tilt of said boot allowing the oil that had filled the boot to drain out. My conclusion is the rack has developed a leak with the boot being full of oil.
I did a "steering rack" search but nothing of value appeared.
My worst fear realized when I saw oil pouring out of my degas bottle today. It was pressurized pretty good too. No coolant in the oil though. And no coolant coming out of the oil cooler after pulling the filter.
Ive had this 2000 Excursion since new and have 263000 miles on it with zero engine trouble. Ive always said if the engine goes its all she wrote. So I'm just sick!
Ive done every repair on this baby myself. Ive bragged on this engine for 17 years! Literally nothing but oil and plugs but my luck just ran out.
So, Im pretty sure I know whats wrong but Id like to hear what y'all think it is and how bad it is to fix. Ive searched this forum as usual which has never failed to steer me in the right direction but Im not finding the answer this time.
01 vw passat 1.8, spark plug hole number 2 is full of liquid possibly anti freeze, head gasket looks wet. Water pump is pumping and thermostat is opening, car overheated. Also my engine clicks so bad it sounds like a diesel when i am below 1500 rpms but above with more oil pressure it's fine, I have been told camshaft.

View 10 RepliesWhile a friend was using my 2003 Nissan Sentra evidently a child spilled a sugary drink onto the gear shift console without my friend realizing it. The car sat for 2 weeks in the Sept. heat. When I drove it for the first time, I noticed a grinding sensation when I put the gear shift into reverse and park. The other settings were normal. Do I need to have it checked out, or will the motion of using the gear shift eventually wear away the sticky mess that obviously is in there? My husband didn't notice a thing, but it is my car and he very seldom drives it.
