1st: 00532 Supply Voltage Too Low - Intermittent
2nd: 00592 Seat Belt Switch on Passenger Side -E25
Resistance Too High - Intermittent
3rd: 00592 Seat Belt Switch on Passenger Side -E25
Resistance Too Low -Intermittent
the piece where the passenger side seat belt clicks into has a chunk broken off of it, now im assuming that this is causing most (maybe all?) of the problem here?
I have a couple of fun curves I hit daily and most days I push the car pretty hard. So, I hit one the other day on the way home from work and the freaking airbag light came on with a fault message. I immediately suspected that when my seat belt tightened that the sensor in the seat belt connector freaked out. I later scanned with VAGCOM and confirmed that I have the famous high resistance message for the driver side seat belt connector. I remember that some people had luck by cleaning the connections to the bottom of the seat and the switch. Maybe that is all I have to do. Got to love the .:R. I break stuff as fast as I fix stuff.
View 13 RepliesSo I unplugged my front seats and the airbag fault light came on. When I hooked them back up the light remained on. Is there a trick to this that I am unaware of? I would really like to get this light off my dash asap.
View 6 RepliesHaving an airbag fault? I just got one, its telling me drivers side, and its not the intermittent signal code. So I believe I need to replace the sensor. Where to source one?
View 7 RepliesI have an APR stage 2+ R with 70k miles and have been getting strange CELs recently. What is going on. Here is what happens:
1st- a ding a ECS fault displays in mfd.
2nd- a ding and ABS fault lights up
3rd- airbag light and tire pressure lights illuminate
4th- steering wheel light illuminates.
5th- all lights disappear after a few minutes, except the airbag light.
Car drives fine and lights do not illuminate upon restart. The light show appears randomly usually a day or two later.
Keep getting o2 fault codes. Replaced sensors came back. tried another set of sensors came back. Checked wiring for breaks no luck. Replaced ecu still no luck. So going through wiring again and checking for continuity. Looking for a list of what pins to check for voltages, and what each should be from ecu to sensor connectors. Looking for what wire is signal and how to and what voltages to check for...
View 5 RepliesYesterday I purchased an 04 Jetta 2.0 with 179k. It was super cheap and pretty clean. Needs work but I bought it to fix it and daily it. Anyway. When I initially went to look at the car, It started right up. after test driving it, I turned it off to make a deal with the guy. Then started it back up to pull on the trailer. Towed it home, Started right up again to get off the trailer. All was good.
This morning I go out, scan the codes (with an obdII scanner, not vag-com), get the codes, then erase them. Just to get a fresh start at the issues. I go to start the car, and it wont start. Turns over but doesn't fire. Could erasing the codes have done something?
Here's the codes that popped up in case they're important to this situation. P0043, P0102, P3081, P0113. I did scan the codes again after I erased them and it wouldn't start. P0043 is still there.
Recently "acquired" AB Fault that would not go away. Upon routine 10k service, here is what was found out. If you move the passenger front seat within the first few seconds, the self-tests (including determination of seat empty to automatically turn off passenger airbag) get confused and a fault code is thrown. Fault will not go away until reset by VW service (or presumably VAG-COM can do this).
The recommended "fix", at this point, is to not mess with the seat adjustment for 10sec after ON. There is no written information on Touaregs, apparently, but same problem is documented in a Technical Bulletin for New Beetle. A relevant quote from that document is: "Volkswagen Technical Service is investigating the following condition. After switching ignition ON, the Airbag Monitoring indicator light stays illuminated and DTC 02511 014 - Seat Occupied Recognition Control Module Fault - is stored in DTC memory.
Well like I said, I have an airbag fault light. I recently installed a sound system and ever since I unplugged the "Passenger air bag light" indicator module from the dash trim piece the air bag light has been on. When a passenger is in my car the air bag does indeed activate and deactive when they get out.
My question, why is my air bag light on? Did unplugging the module from the dash trim peice really cause that? I don't really want to take it to my local dealership and get charged diag time.
Can you reset airbag fault with the KEYII-USB.....
View 2 RepliesSo the light came on the other day, took the car to the stealers for the 60,000km service and just figured they would just clear the fault code. Turns out i needed a new airbag harness in and under the drivers seat.
View 3 RepliesAll of all sudden, my car is complaining a airbag fault, VCDS scan fault code as below, Does it mean all 10 airbags in my Phaeton is no longer working ?!

A few days ago I got an Airbag Fault Warning while driving, since then the orange airbag light has remained on and at start up it gives me a "Airbag Fault" warning. Any remedies? The manual states to just take it in to the dealer.
View 7 Repliesso today i removed the radio bezel from my 06 and i left the key on like an idiot and now my airbag fault light is on I reconnected the bezel i make sure that the plug was on and still airbag fault light is on.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2002 Passat wagon glx 4motion & I was driving the other day when out of no where my airbag light came on ... What to do??
View 1 RepliesToday, I got a message on the cluster that said Airbag Fault and then the airbag light has now shown up. Never seen it before...Why I might be now?
View 2 RepliesAlright just had this light pop up on my 01 passat,
View 1 RepliesStarting a couple of days ago, I am getting the airbag fault light on the dashboard. Can't seem to explain why. I have never changed any wiring on the car, nor installed aftermarket electronics. I have the car for about a year now. At the time when the light came on, the weather outside was very cold.
View 5 RepliesI recently sent for a reset my airbag module, yes my car was in a collision, I replaced passenger airbag(only 1 airbag deployed). And reconnected the module. Using the VAG COM, I scanned the airbag module, shows no fault codes, but i still have a light.. now I'm thinking seatbelts and sensors maybe the problem. Where the sensors for a 2005 passat passenger dash airbag are located.
View 2 RepliesI own a 2004 V8 Treg and the other day when I started the engine (and ever since) there is an error message displayed AIRBAG FAULT. I have arranged to take it to the dealer...
