My air conditioner is not getting cold. The fan is running, and the AC light is coming on when i turn the dial. Also, the compressor is working and the clutch is engaging. I checked the fuses inside the car and the fuse above the battery.

Ever since its been real cold out, or if the car sits overnight, I've noticed my car doesn't turn on right away. Hold the key for a solid 2 seconds before it turns over.

Get a rattling sound when in park and when it warms up after a little drive it goes away, When a gear is engaged the noise goes away. Pretty sure its the dmf but whats causing it.

The last few times I drove my car, I noticed the A/C didn't feel very cold. I checked today, and noticed that neither cooling fan comes on with the A/C on. My understanding is that both fans should be in LOW mode with the A/C on. Also, after idling for a while and even after doing some spirited driving and pulling over, the fans never turned on.

Not getting any cold air. A/C compressor is not spinning. Fuses look ok. What else can I check before I take it to a shop?

I have a 2013 2.5L Golf (Highline from Canada) that every morning when I go to work and every afternoon when I leave work, the brakes squeak for the first 2 to 3 stops.
It doesn't seem weather dependent, just cold dependent (now that it is cold in Canada).
Is this normal for a set of stock Golf pads? I am pretty sure its coming from the rears.
Out of all the cars I have owned (1973 BMW E3 Bavaria, 88 E28 535is, 01 E39 540i), none have ever made this much noise in the morning, no matter what the conditions were like.
If this is normal for stock pads, I will probably put a set of aftermarket ones.

I've noticed a problem with the .:R now that it's getting really cold up here in the Northeast. When the car has been sitting for a while in the cold (like overnight) the first 1st => 2nd shift is rough, almost like the car slammed the clutch in at the wrong RPM without allowing for any slippage. This is my first winter with the .:R so I'm wondering if this is normal or not. She's gotta go in for her 20k mile maintenance soon so I'll probably ask them about it then too.

Today I got in the car and turned on the ac, got no air blowing. Turned the ac off and the heat up, still nothing. I assume the blower is shot or maybe the fuse? I could hear the vents switching from top to bottom as I changed it but no air coming out. Where would the fuse be? What to check? Engine cooling fans replaced last year and working.

So, for the past year or so, my R backfires on cold starts. I have had the MAF, Fuel pump, door sensor, and coil packs replaced. Still no progress. Now that it is starting to cool down here in CO, this is happening much more often.

So, I had noticed copious amounts of smoke on startup a few weeks ago and took it to the dealer. They said turbo seals were bad and were going to replace. However, once they looked at it (and consulting with vw engineers) they concluded turbo was fine and that the ccv must be faulty. So, they replaced the valve and tube and returned the car to me last week.
Before I take the car back in and have them start pulling my engine apart I thought I would get input. It only smokes when cold, and doesn't appear to smoke while driving. No performance issues at all - runs awesome. Fluid levels are fine. Smoke doesn't really have a strong odor or oil or glycol.

When it's really cold outside the hatch only opens about half way on it's own. I have to manually lift it the rest of the way. Is this normal?

Feel like the car has more torque before the engine is fully up to temperature? Why I am getting that sensation? Makes me wonder about possible benefits of water/meth injection even on NA.

Let me define cold weather. I'm talking 0˚F and into the negatives, not "I live in Georgia and it was 40˚F last night".
If the car sits outside, let's say overnight during negative temps, when I start the car the speakers don't put out any bass whatsoever. Eventually, as the interior warms up you can hear the speakers come alive and they begin to work as advertised. Is this normal? I guess I don't mind it if it is normal, I've just never experienced this in any other car I've driven. Is this some sort of self-protecting function for the speakers or car's electrical system? Just the speaker material tightening up in the cold?

My car has been acting funny when I first turn it on I can't get into Reverse. But when I got to work today I could go right into reverse and park at work.
Then leaving I went to try and nothing the shifter I can push down and go to the side but will not go up like it's not even meant to do so. But by the time I got home and had to reserve a little and got it right in and I can reverse find no weird sounds or anything.

When it gets really cold out, I start getting a good strong squeak from the back of the car when the rear suspension gets worked hard (i.e. twisted). I suspect the bushings on my H&R rear sway are the culprit. Greasing? With what? I don't want to use a lube that eats the rubber part of the bushing, or does any other damage.

I know it will get a little notchy when its cold out, but shifting from 1st to 2nd is really notchy, and the shift box is pretty loud on that shift. I don't think its a trans issue, the noise seems like its only in the shift box. and goes away after 5-10 minutes or so, but it seems a bit excessive, especially for a new car. Car has 3500 miles on it, and has been doing this pretty much the whole time on cold starts.

Couple months ago I noticed that my car was experiencing rough idle, stuttering exhaust note during cold start. RPM is very stable!
Forward 4-5 months to last week, starting to notice vibration and it seems like the situation has gotten worse. The car returns to normal after 1 minute or so depending on how long it has been sitting there for. For example, If I park there for 30 minutes and try to start the car, I can feel a little vibration for up to 10 seconds. If it was parked for overnight, then the problem lasts up to one minute and then clears out. Now it's throwing a P0302 error which is cylinder 2 misfiring.
It's really like magic, the car would idle pretty rough and suddenly clears out.
I put in 4 brand new ignition coils and plugs, all OEM stuff and still hasn't worked.
This problems started during the winter time and I can clearly notice it's gotten worse and finally last week it threw the misfiring code.
I feel like something is failing or building up slowly. My car is a 2009 GTI TSI which has the same engine as the MK6 GTI.

2011 TDi 6 Speed (Sportwagon) with problems shifting into 2nd? Mine is currently in the shop under investigation for a balky shift when cold. The tech says it's not right, but then they find another vehicle in inventory with the same issue...currently waiting on a VW engineer.

I have a 2000 Jetta that doesn't blow cold AC. Here are the details:
- When the AC is turned on, air does blow through the vents. Each setting (1-4) does blow harder than the previous.
- Both front fans spin and are working
- The AC compressor clutch never engages
- All fuses (two inside the car and the one above the battery) have been replaced and test good.
- When the AC is on full blast, the voltage coming from the AC compressor wire shows ~9.3V for about 5 seconds, then jumps up to about ~11V for less than a second, this repeats over and over and the clutch never engages.
What the next logical troubleshooting step would be? I've read about this possibly being the fan control module (maybe) and also read about testing the AC compressor using an external 12V power supply, but am not sure where to go from here.
