Golf V R32 :: 2008 - Water Leaks From Underneath The Doors
Oct 11, 2013
I have noticed recently after couple of rainy days that my driver door and passenger door sills are filled up with water I assumed that there is a leak from underneath the door which comes from in between the door and the wheel. Is it like i have to buy an after market plastic covers to stop this leakage?

I have a 95 SL1, 175,000 miles. Both front doors and the right rear door have water leaks. Leak is at the top edge of doors. Seals look ok. During heavy rain it is bad, soaking the seats and floor boards. Would adjusting the door lock striker by pulling the door in tighter to make a more positive seal or should I replace the door seals. I have friends you own Saturns and they have similar problems with door water leaks.

I have a 2013 Highlander which I purchased new. about a month ago I noticed rust all over my third row seat when I opened it. As I looked I found rust all under the seats and not only on the third row but also the first and second row also. The car is garage kept and has had no leaks. My dealership tells me it is not a Toyota problem.

Maybe I've been having too much fun in the rain... I've recently noticed an odd smell in the car and found a small wet spot underneath the passenger front floor mat, only to be followed by same in the rear passenger floor mat. I was hoping it won't happen again, but I found myself with the wet floor few weeks later after the rain.
I first thought it may be the bike rack (which I have posted in the earlier month) but seeing the location and occurence, it couldn't be from the rack. It was always the underneath the center of the freaking floor mat.
My R is at the dealer since yesterday, getting a full physical.. They're even talking about removing the headliner to make sure there is no internal leak from the roof.

Got my car over the weekend and didn't drive until today as I was waiting for the insurance paperwork to clear. Opened my door this morning to find a nice stream of water coming out of a hole (drainage?) at the bottom of the door. It was a good amount of water that came out, and I could hear water in the door when I closed the door.
Opened all the other 3 doors and had a nice puddles of water next to each door. It was raining here Monday and Tuesday. Is there supposed to be that much water just sitting in the car after a rain? I feel like I've never seen that much water come out of a car's cervices a day after rain.

I did a search and didn't see anything relating to this, so I'm wondering if it's a widespread issue. The black plastic or whatever that material is that goes underneath the doors began discoloring a couple years ago. I've seen it on other Passats around the area too and it's very unpleasant. I have an '04 all stock car in blue anthracite.

It seems to be on all my doors making me think this is just how they are ...
Basically I put the dry window down and it comes back up covered in small water droplets. That's not a big concern by itself but if it's not just some random part like the weather sealing that stays damp and my doors are holding onto a bunch of water that has me worried.

It doesn't matter how i park my car, if its parked down hill it will leak into the front seats, if its parked up hill it will leak into the back seats. If its parked with the drivers side door up, water will collect on the running boards, then seap through the running boards, through the door gasket and it will puddle on the carpet, its gotten so bad lately with rain all week that the water level has now raised above the carpet and there is a nice pool started in my back seat.
I've checked all the door gaskets, there is no rips tears, and absolutely no reason for it to be leaking. I don't see how it can leak through both doors in any and every spot possible.

I got my Peragon installed today and after looking at it, I'm more worried about water coming in from underneath the truck than the cover. I could see several places where the floor meets the sides where there is daylight. Is road spray something I need to worry about there? Do I need to seal it up tight or leave it alone?

New to Hyundai, bought a 08 Santa Fe Ltd AWD. My first of three daughters just got her license and I decided to part ways with my BMW 530 for something more practical. That was a difficult day. So far, I'm really happy with the Fe and my daughter loves it, too.
Question: After driving, while car is parked in driveway, water will drip from underneath car for like an hour after the car has been turned off. I have collected some of it in a pan and it is crystal clear water, not any type of fluid. Now, this seems to be completely normal drip you'd seem from any car that has its AC on in the summer but this happens when the AC is NOT being used and temp is still in the 40s - 50s. The drip is located approx under the front passenger floor board. I suppose its good that whatever it is, it is draining away and not collecting and causing corrosion but just thought I'd ask the forum. Is this normal? Any other Fe owners notice this drip?

After several days of rain I found that the drivers side carpet is soaked. Upon further investigation I realized it was coming from underneath the car rather than from the side. I was able to put my hand under the carpet and feel the metal body underneath. It was soaked. I have never had this problem before and have not been in an accident. The car drives very well and has 130 miles. I recently replaced the transmission and was hoping to have this for a few more years.

So today I'm out running errands. Its hot and the ac is on. I notice water is coming out from underneath the dashboard on the passenger side. I pull the floor mat and water is everywhere. Soaked!! Ok so the ac water that's supposed to drip outside and underneath the car is now dripping inside the car. I pull off all the plastic crap, glove box to see if I can tell where its coming from. Not seeing it. Also some crap must have gotten wet because my check engine light is on along with a flashing vsr off light.

My 2005 Neon has had a leaking problem for quite some time. It rains...a lot! After a decent rainfall, when I start the car and the first couple times I accelerate, there is an audible hissing sound, and then the water drips in from underneath the dash on the passenger side. The leak is getting progressively worse, and I'm concerned the interior carpets will get moldy. I recently brought the car in for it's 60K checkup, and all is good. The only thing they could find leaking are the seals on the passenger door. Unfortunately, these seals aren't made anymore, and the cost to purchase them is quite expensive, and may or may not fix the leaking issue.

I just got my new 2004 t-reg three weeks ago. We have experienced an onslaught of rain the past week here in the east and i noticed that my window leaks water into the tub of my trunk and down the back sidewall when the trunk is fully opened. Little droplets coming through and causing some serious soaking of my trunk area.

For about 4 months now, water has been leaking into the passenger side of my truck. I popped off the kick panel near the door and poured water down the windshield near the bottom. Water comes out of a small hole in the metal behind the kick panel. 2005 GMC Sierra v6....

My VW Rabbit (2007) has water in the spare tire well (under hatchback floor); under the floor mats in the back (passenger side has puddled up over the floor mat); appears to have water inside the driver side wall (seat belts are damp and have mildew); appears to have water leaking from under the passenger side onto the ground (backseat end).
This is not a case of windows or sun roof having been left open. Nor have I driven through a flooded area of significance. Last year the rear-passenger-side of this car was destroyed in a 50mph hit by an SUV and insurance co. chose to have it repaired rather than total....

My 2002 Sienna has water pooling in the front passenger side. We pulled up some of the front carpet and it's soaking beyond the passenger side. We need to find out where the water is coming from. It correlates to rain, but we tried hosing the passenger door and front windshield but didn't see any water coming in.

I just joined this great forum and having a tough time finding a solution for Water Pump and Timing Cover Leaks.
2007 Prius Pkg 6
111k miles
Bought the car used from a dealer (non toyota) and doubt that the 90k service was done
Issues found by dealer (when I took it in for the steering shaft recall):
-Replace water pump (Found coolant leak) (for the gas engine)
-Reseal timing cover (Found engine oil seep)
2 weeks ago I filled my coolant as I saw it was a tiny bit low, but since then I have not seen the coolant levels drop. The Dealer is quoting me an absurd amount of money and I for one cannot afford that.

I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty 4X4 Limited edition with a sunroof. Last year, after a hard rain, I went out to my car to find about 3 inches of water in the passenger side floorboard. I immediately took it to the Jeep Dealer, who told me that the sunroof was simply clogged with debris. They cleared out the channels and all the debris and said I would be good to go. Not so much. It's a year later and after checking the heating coils, weather stripping, windshield, windows, etc, etc... It STILL FLOODS! The water comes ONLY through the screw that holds the sun visor in the roof. The roof of the car never gets wet. I have taken it to several body shops other that then Jeep dealer and no one has any clue. I now keep microfiber towels and a shop vac in my car at all times. I'm worried about the damage this will do to my car eventually, particularly in terms of the electrical parts of the car.

I have a 2003 Honda civic. When it rains water leaks inside and soaks the carpet under the diver's feet and the left side a the back seat. There is no sign of water on the dashboard or driver door, so I don't think the leak is coming from the windshield or drivers window. Could it be coming under the dashboard and running down the floor board? Where would I take the car to try and get this fixed?
