I've had my MY 08 R32 (Australian delivered) for almost 4 months. It's done about 8300kms so far and I've noticed awhile ago that the car makes clunking noise when I'm turning the steering wheel a lot at low speed (eg. car parks). I'll probably book in for a oil change and ask the service centre to look into it.
View 6 RepliesSo I have a 2012 Elantra Limited. From what I understand the power steering is no hydraulics and is only electric assist. So I have a strange problem. I can remember in previous cars when a power steering pump was going bad it made a whining type noise that changed with engine speed. My Elantra is making the same type of noise. I'm trying to track this down. My car doesn't have any other symptoms aside from the noise. It's hard to really tell but it does appear to be coming from the belt side of the motor (passenger side).
View 14 RepliesSo I got my Haldex fluid and DSG fluid changed two weeks ago. When I picked the car up I noticed a vibration when I was making tight turns. Last week I called the dealer and told them. They said to drive it a bit more to see if it works it self out. But now after getting back from H2Oi, it still is doing it but not as bad.
Its a vibration you can feel and a rumble you can hear when making a tight turn at slow speed. Like turning into a parking space or turning at a stop sign. What would this be? I searched but couldn't find an exact answer.
So when turning my steering wheel i get this croaking noise. At stand still and while driving. Its annoying the heck out of me. You can hear it in the car and outside. What it could be? Power steering fluid level is normal.
View 11 Repliesmy 1992 960 wagon with 332K miles today started making a moaning noise when making a significant turn at low speed. At first it seemed to be only when I was accelerating but if that was true, it now is doing it at any low-speed big turn. Tonight, turning around in the driveway, it added what I call juddering during the turn. So naturally I am concerned.If it is something as minor as power steering fluid I might trust a local gas station to fill it up, but probably not any more than that. (There used to be a dealer about 45" away, but they seem to be gone now, and the closest one is hours away. I am 250 miles and one week away from my own trusted mechanic, so I hope it is something like fluid!).I haven't noticed any puddles on the driveway where it is parked, but I suppose it could leak out only when the engine is on and the car is moving.

My 2011 ISF with 56k miles on it is making a Clunking noise when pulling out of a parking spot or just anytime I fully steer to the left side and begin to move. If I try it in reverse it doesn't matter if I turn the steering wheel fully to left or right it makes the same noise as I begin to move at slow speed. It almost feels like something is pushing the front wheels out. During normal driving I don't feel anything at all, just as steady as solid the car can be.
Is there any common issues with ISF with premature wear of ball joints, cv joint, sway bar bushings or hub bearing?
So ive been having issues with my trans 6 speed manual making noise and took it to the dealer. They more or less told me the trans is done, something with the linkage, need a new trans and clutch. They also told me my warranty was void because there was indication of a cold air intake before i bought the car and have reason to believe it's due to abuse. I've only driven this car 3,000 miles and have taken care not to beat or sport shift the car to avoid this very problem. I can't argue the fact that the previous owner could have very well driven the car hard and the problem might have been a ticking time bomb. I guess my best bet is to find a used trans and install myself but really dont know where to start.
View 24 RepliesI'm having an issue where when the fan is set to the lower fan speeds it will make a high pitched, harmonic chirping noise. I've isolated it to the operation of the fan, so I know it's something to do with the HVAC stuff.
View 2 RepliesI have an 04 dodge ram. I have recently encountered a chirping noise at low speed (it may be there at higher speed, but I can't hear it over the engine). It sounds like rubber, rubbing against itself or birds underneath the truck. The noise speeds up and gets a bit louder as I accelerate. The sound generally goes away or I can't hear it after 25-30 mph. This only happens when in motion, so I don't think it's the belts. I've read a number of things from CV Joints to Bushings and not sure if it's either.
View 3 RepliesAt 120k miles, my 2003 Camry LE 2.4L started to make some noise when making sharp right turn at low speed (below 5mph) going forward. It sounds like the tire rubbing the fender or somewhere, not metallic, and it's periodic, at 2-3Hz or so. It comes from somewhere on the driver side but I'm not sure. The car doesn't make noise when turning at stop or backing up or going straight, and the noise seems to disappear if turning at higher speed (maybe the turn is not sharp enough).
First I suspect the tire is rubbing the fender. But after inspection, no rubbing marks can be found, and there seems no rubbing when the car is parked and the wheel turn all the way to the right. Then I suspect a bad CV axle. But the boots seem in good shape with no leaking grease, and there's no noise when backing up.

View 2 RepliesI bought a used 2014 F-sport and I took it to the dealer since the brakes are making the screech noise on low speed cold stops. The dealership stated that the brakes and rotors are all aftermarket and won't touch them.
My question (from searching and reading) is, any aftermarket rotors for the F-Sport RWD?
Ok my 2002 337 has 87,600 miles on it and for quite a while now its been making a lot of font end noise, its most noticeable at 25-30 MPH, decelerating or holding a steady speed, it disappears when your accelerating hard, and at high speeds. But the noise is horrible, its like a buffeting
Its been serviced regularly, since the noise I've done, new front brake rotors, new pads, wheel bearings, inner and outer CV boots replaced, CV joint checked. My local mechanic who's done a lot of work for me isn't sure what to think, he said try rotating the tires because it may be tire noice on the road? Im running some generic tires, the brand on the tire says "sunny" but they appear to be a good performance tire, and handle well
When I drive in a parking lot or parking garage and start off into a slow, tight corner, I feel a "surge". If I had a locked diff I would understand. I have a Haldex composition controller. I am not bothered about it...just wondering what it could be. Maybe the clutch slipping?? No evidence of that at full throttle acceleration runs in the higher gears.

I should also note it doesn't seem to do it when it's warm, but when it gets around 50ºF or lower the problem is there. [URL] ....
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Sonata Ltd (63000 miles) and had a clunk in the front suspension. I had the front upper control arms replaced (which were visually badly worn) and that fixed the problem. But now, a several months later another similar clunking noise has developed when I go over those small speed bumps in parking lots.

2007 Explorer XLT 4x4, 4.0 OHV, AT, 89,000 miles on the odometer.
We took the truck to dinner last night so I could investigate the problem. This occurs while only making left hand turns at slow speed.
There is a definite clunk sound AND feel. It actually sounds and feels like we are driving over a loose manhole cover, and IT DOES feel like metal to metal contact on the driverʻs sids of the truck.
