View 12 RepliesI have a clicking binding noise while at idle, with the clutch out it goes away, when depressed its there. So, is this a bad throw out bearing? Clutches and flywheels?
View 12 RepliesI've recently replaced the power steering pulleys and belts. Now when i turn car, it makes a clunking /clicking noise and sometimes the power steering tugs back a bit. 2010 camry.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2008 Elantra with 59,000 miles. When it is warm out (70 F+), the sterering wheel makes a binding noise (squeeking noise - it is hard to describe) when turning. It doesn't do this all the time and it is much more noticeable when it is warm out. The temps are usually mild. This is a recent problem as I haven't noticed it before.
Should I be concerned about this? I want to get it checked before the 60,000 mile mark in case this is a serious issue such as rack and pinion steering problems.
Recently had this problem which started up about a week ago where my car would make this clicking noise whenever I turn left while driving. When I turn to the right there is no noise. Some said that it could be that CV joints need to be replaced. I have a video showing the side that is making the sound, maybe there is something abnormal that I don't see.

So after doing wheel bearings in the car. both front and back. I'm still getting the "wheel-bearing hum" sound if you will. Don't know how this can be possible with all brand new wheel bearings and hub in the front passenger side. other hubs were fine. I do need tires which will be ordered soon/ alignment im sure.
View 5 RepliesI think it is cv joint not sure. [URL] .....
View 2 RepliesHave a whirring/wheel bearing metallic rubbing noise at 70-80 mph, 6th gear (manual transmission). It's hard to pinpoint the location but it's from the engine area! I heard about water pump failures but thought I'd hear that all the time not just at speed... MKVI GTI ...
View 15 RepliesSo my front right Wheel bearing is making noise and its a used Knuckle so its w/e. Guess ill use tonight to do all my bushings and fluids n stuff.
View 6 RepliesI have a Mk6 GTI 2010 and recently there has been some noise coming from the rear of the car and the noise changes with speed and sounds similar to a wheel bearing.. So I jacked up the rear and found that there was play in the passenger rear wheel.. The bolt holding the hub together was tight..
View 2 RepliesSo I just got a new golf sport wagon and I want to checkabout a noise I've noticed. When I start the car and try and immediately turn the wheel (like to back out of a parking space), the steering makes a soft 'woop woop woop' noise as i turn the wheel. It quickly goes away and the rest of the drive is noise free but it is just that first time. What this could be?
View 6 RepliesRecently I lowered my .:R pretty low on fk highsports.. well today i was backing off into my driveway.. When i turned my wheels to the right or to the the left the front driver wheel makes loud noise like tick tick tick.. when i put my wheels straight no noise at all.. It happens when i go forward or backwards turning my wheels to the right or left..
View 13 RepliesI recently picked up a cpo rx 350 and my steering wheel makes a squishy rubber-rubber friction kinda noise when I turn - especially when I am reversing. Is it common and does it go away?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2004 F150 SCrew 4x4 with the 4.6 (260K)... My steering wheel occasionally 'clicks' when turning - It sounds and feels like a bearing is bad in the steering column.
When it happens, it feels like one in the bearing is binding- the steering wheel slightly binds, then there's a 'pop' like the ball snapped back into place. This only happens occasionally. Sometimes it will pop with every revolution of the steering wheel, other times not at all.
Originally, I thought it was a U-joint, but it seems like the noise is coming from the bottom of the column...
I replaced all the bearings and put in a rebuilt transmission and still have bearing like noise , seems like the front, directly increasing with speed . Same in neutral, no change with turning or breaking. Getting worse over the past few months.
View 1 RepliesI have a bad wheel bearing but on the highway my steering wheel shakes. It is only on the highway not down residential streets. I'm pretty sure it is the driver's side wheel bearing. I already balanced my wheels and everything.
View 5 RepliesSo on my girlfriends 2000 echo I get the classic bad wheel bearing noise/vibration on the front left (driver side) wheel. Worsens under load (right turn) and goes away when unloaded (left turn). I've replaced left side bearing, CV axle, brake rotors/pads and the noise still persists. My next thought is maybe the ball joint but humming/vibration tells me something out of rotational balance. Bearing in the transmission? I don't know. I'm stuck.
View 5 Replies2012 GTI, MT, 7k miles ... Now that I've determined the other noise I had is a wastegate rattle, I'm getting this lovely noise while moving and turning the wheel all the way, seems to only be when it's wet/rainy.
View 4 RepliesSo when turning my steering wheel i get this croaking noise. At stand still and while driving. Its annoying the heck out of me. You can hear it in the car and outside. What it could be? Power steering fluid level is normal.
View 11 RepliesShould I hear my Touareg wind down everytime I shut it off? Almost sounds like an airplane coming to a stop but its not that loud.
View 3 RepliesI have been cruising vortex for the last month and finally pulled the trigger on a low mileage Red R32. I am quite excited and love driving the car around.
First, when my sunroof is fully open there is a great deal of reverberation at speeds of 30mph plus. In fact you can feel the whole headliner vibrate. However, if I push the sunroof wind deflector down just a small amount everything is just fine. Is there some adjustment to that wind deflector?
Second, when I test drove the car at first the car started up normally with no unusual noises, but since I actually purchased the car, the car makes several squeaks while the motor is turning over. The dealer tells me this is normal. I took the car in because of the squeak and they found a bad water pump bearing cause they heard some other noises with the engine idling, but that the squeak upon startup is normal operation. That doesn't make sense to me.
