I've noticed that when i went up a slope or speed hump or my drive way that make a weird creaking noise then when i go back down it makes a noise like as if they settled back into place, what can be causing this?

The windows function properly and I don't have any issues with them except they just make a lot of creaking noises while driving.
View 11 RepliesBought a 2005 FX4 recently, 107k miles, engine and transmission working smooth and quiet. Changed oil in engine, transmission, transfer case and rear axle, filter in engine and transmission, the oil I drained still looked pretty good.
At take-off or when going slowly the truck sometimes makes a really weird creaking/scratching/rattling noise. It appears to come from underneath the truck, I only can hear it when driving close to a building or taking off besides another vehicle with windows down (noise is reflected by building or other vehicle). There is no jerk, the truck drives normal but the noise is really weird (and alarming?). Where to look?
I have a 98 camry 4 cylinder and only on cold mornings after engine starts, right then I hear a one time hump or a poot like noise near the belt area /passenger side. I've changed out the powe rsteering fluid but still does it.. never does it when warm or again after driving, only on cold mornings.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 RSX base model. got 134,000miles on it. recently it starts to making whining noise when the rpm gets to 2500-3000rpm. The car also started to have the cricket chirping like sound. Had the oil changed, tune up already. The sound seems to get louder, and the car seems to have less power. Especially when going up a slope you can hear the engine revving, and car don't want to move. Before this car would go up these slope like it was nothing. My brother say the sound is coming from the engine.

While I was going down slowly, I heard my right front making noises. It sounded something like crunching or cracking noise coming from the suspension maybe? I also noticing this when I go over uneven bumps, I am here the same noise as well.
Is this normal? I got about 35K on my car now.
About 2 weeks ago i installed my silverlines on my 2012 gti. Everything was fine until today So i'm not slammed by no means; i have close to a fingers width of gap.
Today while driving i took a slanted slope while pulling into a driveway. I heard a loud pop from the front suspension area. On the way home while driving at slow speeds and hitting mild bumps i could hear a rattling sound and a popping sound from the front area.
I looked down when i got home and noticed by front left sway bar endlink was completely loose. Somehow the nut loosened itself. So i tightned it up and figured that was my problem.
Well it seems that fixed half of my problem. The loud pops when tweaking the frame through roads that are slanted (driveways) went away but i still have a loose rattling sound.
I have a creaking and noise from the engine area under takeoff, no matter how light i start off and in the start of turns and when i straighten out. Im thinking its motor mounts... I just had a control arm and ball joint replaced though...
I know my mounts are shot...
Car is 2013 4dr Golf R with about 7000 miles, APR stage 1 flash, and Carbonio intake. Noise is worse when cold and becomes much more subtle once car is at normal operating temperatures. The noise only seems to occur when I go on and off the throttle, particularly when in 1st or 2nd gear, and does not seem to happen when I go over bumps making me feel that the suspension is not the issue.
I'm scheduled to have GMP in Charlotte install a HS Tuning RSR clutch next week, but if it is a transmission problem, I'll have the dealer try and fix it under warranty first.

I have this subtle creaking noise while steering to the left at low speeds, i.e. getting in/out of a parking spot. I have H&R Street coils and haven't had this problem until recently. I brought it into a mod-friendly dealer and they said it's the factory sway bar rubbing up against the coil-overs. They recommended going with a compatible H&R front sway bar. Are they positioned differently? Maybe I'm missing something.

It has ST coilovers already and read a post from the previous owner here and he said the noise started after the install and he was told ot was the upper mounts??? Does this sound correct?? Also i noticed it when parked and just turning the wheel back and forth, popped the hood and had my son turn it and it did sound like it was coming from the upper strut area....
View 12 RepliesI know- another noise diagnosis thread but I'm very confused and worried about these noises coming from the front of my car. It's a creaking noise that's most noticeable when I engaged the brakes. I first assumed it was an engine mount- hopefully it is. I'm replacing my vf dogbone bushings before Tod. But this doesn't sound like rubber creaking, by metal. Like the chassis by the strut mounts. I hope it's nothing regarding the v3's. Maybe it's something with the brakes? I also hear I slightly when going over speed bumps. Again, I doesn't sound like the rubbery rear sway creaking. What could be the cause? I'm replacing the pads and fluid before Tod as well..

View 8 RepliesAbout a week or so ago, my seat belt started making this "creaking" noise whenever it's buckled. All you have to do is move slightly in the seat or hit the smallest of bumps in the road and it creaks. I am delaying bringing it to the dealer because I'm sure they'll say they can't hear it. The passenger belt doesn't make the sound, and it is something that has only recently started happening.
View 10 RepliesToday in a parking lot I was going very slowly (like barely moving), turning the car to the right (didn't have the steering wheel pinned but it was just about there), and I heard this faint creaking noise (think rocking chair in an attic) coming from somewhere roughly down near the left front wheel. I can reproduce it by doing the same thing -- going slow and turning hard right. It doesn't do it when I make a sharp left turn. I don't see anything strange in the wheel well that would be rubbing.
Any thoughts? Been going over some rough construction areas lately. Could a pothole have done this?
I did a quick search on the 'creaking' or 'rattle' noise seemingly coming from the B-Pillar and found just a bunch of complaints.
Any fix, whether DYI or dealer? It is driving me crazy and is completely unacceptable for a brand new car, of any make or model. What to do and that is what I will do. No matter the measures at this point.
So my car has been at the dealer this week for the 4th day. I have a whining/whirring noise from the rear of the car at cruising speeds of 70mph that goes away with a little throttle and comes back when coasting or at enough throttle to maintain speed. Car must be warmed up to hear it. I know this has been documented on the forum a few times with some getting "it is normal" responses while other have had the diff replaced. They are still diagnosing this but I am not expecting much. I did have the 30k service about 5k miles ago.
Second issue is a creaking noise from steering when stopped or a parking lot speeds. Mostly heard in quarter turns of the wheel. Sounds like it is coming from the column but not really audible from outside. This one the dealer says is normal. Manager says a new MKVII GYI does the same. I haven't verified this yet.
Last, my RNS-315 intermittently does crazy things with my iPhone 6 while listening to music through Bluetooth: Sometimes it will freeze up but I can change to radio and sometimes it will play music through a phone call. Meaning the phone icon is up as if I were on a call with music playing but I can't hang up! I think they are ordering a new head unit.
OK, when I first got the car in June it needed strut mounts so I got the 034's and new bearings and all was good, recently I noticed just a creaking/knocking type noise, not the same as before. So I checked the bolts on the mounts just in case and they are good. Been reading lately about the subframe and it is leading me to believe that may be it. The noise is more noticeable at slower speeds when just going over slight road imperfections(like small dips) and sometimes I do not hear it at all even over rough roads?
View 6 RepliesHow to diagnose this creaking/clunking noise in my 03 Jetta TDI. It's only coming from the passenger side, and I primarily notice it at low speed on relatively uneven roads. I can replicate the noise by pushing up and down on the front passenger side corner.
For context, this started after I just recently replaced my front and rear suspension, plus some steering parts. I replace all four struts with Koni yellows, front CA bushings (with R32/TT), ball joints, tie rod ends, front strut bushings and bearings, and passenger side CV axle. In response to the noise, I also just did the front sway bar bushings, which definitely needed it, but didn't change the noise. I also removed the CV axle and re-greased the inner CV joint--to no avail.
Also, when I have the hood open and push up and down on the front of the car, I can see the cup where the top strut nut goes into will go up and down separate and apart from the body. The driver's side stays in line with the body when I try to the same on that side. Also, that cup is tight on the passenger side, whereas it will spin fairly freely on the drivers side. So, this has lead me to think that perhaps I didn't torque either or both of the top or inner strut nuts on the passenger side.

I was wondering if the wind noise problem and the door creaking are both problems resulting from the doors on the 2-door models? I only ask because I'm about to go in for my 3-month courtesy check and wanted to get it checked out.
My doors creak a lot and it really annoys me when I drive at low speeds with the radio off. The wind noise isn't that big but I do notice that there is a lot of wind noise coming from my sunroof rather than my windows/door.
