If I get in my car to hard or even when I'm in the car and rock back and forth while standing still it sounds like the springs squeak, kind of like a spring bed when getting it on. I don't hear it when I'm driving though.
View 8 RepliesReplaced my old sagging leaf springs with new X code springs. Had an almost impossible time centering the axle even with adjustable center link. Even with it totally maxed out it is just barely centered. Now I have a terrible squeak coming from springs. Is this because of the side loading of springs? Is there any fix for it? Not only do they squeak but the drivers side now sags almost an inch even with brand new springs. 2002 F350. Super annoying and irritating
View 1 RepliesSo I installed the DG springs today, and it should've been a simple install. Well once all was said and done I took it for a test drive. Every time I go over a bump I hear a loud clunking noise, like somethings loose. What it could be? I'm pretty sure I tightened everything.
View 10 RepliesSearched but all I see about "scraping" is from too low or tires scraping but this is a different issue, well i think it is, so my bro has golf 2.5 2 dr, he installed his DG Springs today and it makes this scraping noise, it comes and goes, it makes the same noise even if in straight pavement or not bouncing...

I am experiencing a bad clunking noise when going over bumps. Its comming from the passenger rear and I am assuming the springs collapsed. How can i tell for sure? The car is sitting a little lower on the corner. Is it bad to drive the car with the spring in this condition?
View 8 RepliesMy R's only got 5,400 miles on it and I just lowered it Saturday on H&R Springs and when I turn my steering wheel like 3/4 either way it makes like a clunk noise at lower speeds only....any other part besides strut top mounts and bearings? It sounds like its coming from the right front.

I can't get the trunk to open while the car is locked from a normal standing position. I used to be able to, but now I have to rub up against my car to open it. gotta hump the back of my gti to open trunk... its been 3 months. is the key already dead?
View 6 RepliesCrank position sensor was replaced a few months ago. After that noticed that it would not accelerate properly from a standing start. No jerking or anything, but way back it used to be able to spin the front tires a bit, but now not getting that needed acceleration. After hitting 15 or 20 mph, then it's back to normal and road and highway speeds are nice with power.
The reason the crank position sensor was replace was on account of intermittent no starts. That's gone away, but now this acceleration problem. Could it be a leaking air from the outside into the intercooler? Would a VAGCOMM show what's going on? Golf TDI 2005...
When at a stop light or standing outside of the car while its parked, noticed that the engine noise is particular loud? Almost sounds like a diesel truck, is this normal?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2016 4 Motion 2.0T auto transmission with less than 9000 miles on it. During heavy rains or when I drive through "deep" puddles of standing water the car will start to make a rubbing noise. It seem to be from the front passenger side. It will fade away as I coast or slow down but on acceleration it because louder.
I've checked twice now to see if there was anything stuck in the wheel well or axel area. I've made sure the wheels are aired correctly, balanced and the lugs are TQ'd to spec. I can not come up with any info as to why it only happens in the rain.
There is no power drop and I can't feel any type of resistance while driving, the noise being made would be best described like a mud flap of small branch is stuck in the wheel well. At times on the high way it sounds like I'm riding on a rumble strip.
The only difference in the car since I bought it, is the engine now sounds deeper and I can hear a more defined idle, I chalked that up to it breaking in and haven't thought anything of it. The car is also completely stock.
i dont know if i can i bring this to VW but the back right wheel squeaks when driving sometimes. Like when i start and just roll forward it has a squeak and sometimes when i break it squeaks. It makes me feel poor hearing it.

Once the wheel started to spin even a little bit the noise started. It sounded like the disc or wheel or something was moving against another part and it was really loud. I took the wheel out inspected all the parts(I am not a mechanic) and put the wheel back on and the sound went away. What could it be?
View 4 RepliesThe noise is really only audible when I start the car after a very long cold start. When I put the car in drive and start off slow (yes, I specifically have to start off slow) the front left wheel has a squeaking noise (WITHOUT brakes applied), and it sounds like something going around the wheel (meaning its not constant, it sounds like something going around in a circle, if you can picture the noise...).
Anyway, there is a groove in the middle of the rotor that goes all the way around. The rotor is not worn down at the top, which would mean I need new rotors, but this grove which is in the middle of the rotor goes all the way around the rotor.
What makes this even more weird is that the noise completely goes away after some driving or if I turn the car on after a recent drive (recent being 1-1.5 hours). [URL].................
I've had my .:R for a while now, gotten used to its little quirks. But one thing that sparks my interest (not really worrisome though) is I have a squeaking noise when the starter motor engages. It definitely squeaks once per revolution for about 4-5 sqeaks, and it's noticeable in and out of the car. Is it a bearing going bad?
View 5 RepliesStarted up my car this morning and drove to the gas station. I had the car on low fuel, got the low fuel light last night but didn't have time to stop by a gas station to fill up. Anyways after I did finally fueled up this morning, I pulled out of the gas station and a very loud squeaking noise which sounds like metal on metal occurred. The noise is coming from the rear, but it's really loud, nothing I have ever heard before.
I will mention that I have Koni coilovers installed, tried to peak under the car and see if something broke or came loose but I was unable to see anything since I am sitting pretty low.
I live in Chicago and this morning was very cold. I am trying to figure out what my issue could be. I called up the dealer and he told me to drive it around for a bit and see if it goes away. Another guess would be that something got stuck between the rotor and the break pad. I have the stock break pads. What could it be?
Recently, I've noticed squeaking noise coming from some mounts whenever I accelerate from stand still, brake, or even get in the car. Car has 43k miles and is a CPO. I'm pretty sure it's the motor mounts, but a friend also mentioned subframe bushings. Should I take that to the dealer or is it wear and tear that I will have to do myself?
