View 10 RepliesCan I safely assume that the constant drip of non-odorous clear liquid from the engine is from the a/c? It comes down pretty heavy from near the front right tire, about one drop per 2 seconds from what I saw.
View 4 RepliesMy car started leaking fluid and can't find the leak.radiator is too hot to open to look. it's a 2007 ford van, with 133,000 miles on it mechanic looked at engine and could find no leak - what to do?

First off, the car has been sitting in our garage for 5 days, yesterday I noticed a small puddle of liquid under my car, but couldn't tell what it was because the floor is dark so I put some white cardboard under it and checked it again today, there was a small puddle of clear liquid with no smell. I jacked the car up to see what was above the puddle and found this drain tube.
Is that the condenser drain tube? I did run the car for about 10 minutes yesterday to check transmission fluid levels but all climate controls were off.
2ndly, a few days ago I ran a wire to the battery to power my new trailer wiring harness, while under the dash running the wire through the firewall I saw this component under the dash about where the driver's right knee would be while driving.
I noticed liquid leaking from the area between the B exhaust pipe and the muffler. The B exhaust pipe is simply the long exhaust pipe that attaches to the A pipe, or center exhaust pipe near the front. I think the leak is water. It's a slow leak/drip that appears to be coming from the gasket. I have a 1.6L 1998 Honda Civic DX.
View 6 RepliesMy 09 w12 is leaking a clear oil from the back of the engine which is dripping off the Right hand side of the exhaust where it appears from the engine bay ?
it's not water , as the oil spots on my drive are not drying out ? it is also has no odour , so what is it ?? , the car has 16K miles and its bugging me.
I have a 2013 Sonata SE without about 41K on it. I got the oil changed back in May, and a few weeks after I discovered that it was leaking. I took it back to the oil change place and they ensured me that they cleaned up the mess they may have left behind. A month or two later, I believe the engine is still leaking. I've cleaned up two significantly huge puddles of oil, yet the dipstick says the oil level is right below the dot under the full mark. I checked to see if the oil filter was dirty, meaning the leak would come from there if the wrong filter was installed. The oil filter is clean.
There is also a clear fluid leaking out of the engine now too. I thought it was water, but it has a bitter taste to it. It may be the air conditioner, but it has never once spit out water like this since purchasing the car new in October of 2013.
My engine also gets hot much quicker than it ever did before. I can move the car a few feet after starting it up and it will go one notch below halfway on the temperature gauge. It has never exceeded this temperature, but it sure gets there quicker now after this oil issue began. I can also tell when the car is feeling a little sluggish in terms of acceleration, and right now, it's certainly feeling sluggish. The 2.4L isn't as peppy as it usually is.
I have a 2009 Toyota RAV 4, it has about 53,000 miles and I am the original owner. About 4 days ago my husband drove the car home from a trip to town, and I commented there was a clear thick oil leaking from all 4 tire wells. He pointed out it some of it had started before he left, but when he came home, it was worse. It continued to leak, but seemed to slow down.We brought it to the Toyota dealer and they have had it two days. They claim the drove the car, and let it sit overnight and they don't find anything or see any more leak. My husband cleaned the floor, and now we have four giant oil stains on the garage floor, it looks like someone spilled mineral oil or another clear oil.
View 5 RepliesThe other day, I was sitting in the just the right place with the light shining in the passenger window just right to notice a glistening liquid in the bottom crack of the line that runs around the passenger side air bag panel. (Hope I explained it well enough)
I was concerned about a water leak of course, but I have no water traces anywhere else behind the dash or the kick panel. I spread the crack apart far enough to get the edge of a paper towel in the crack to wipe up whatever it was. Low and behold, it is some kind of really slick, silicone type oil.
If the safety air bag should be leaking oil? Is my family in danger? Do safety air bags "degrade" and start decomposing in time? Could that oil be coming from some other source?
Can I pull that front panel off without making the bag explode?
I get to checkers and notice there's a liquid pouring out from under my car and i see its my coolant all gone.. Luckily I was right near the dealer so I drove it there and left it there...
View 21 RepliesToday, I noticed a brownish liquid residue on the left of the engine bay and I haven't noticed this before.
I just came from my 10,000 mile service (at 2,650 miles) yesterday and I can't believe they did not spot this.
What this is?
Bottom of the left side
Right engine bay
This morning I started up my car and I heard the sound of liquid swooshing about. I thought "ok" I checked for leaks later and found a pink almost clear liquid dripping from underneath the driver's side. It doesn't smell like anything but I figure it must be coolant though the coolant tank levels seem about right.
View 2 RepliesI ordered the bulbs already; I just need to know how you pop out those yellow side markers. Do I have to go under the wheel fender and pop out the cover with the plastic screws or does it just come right off the front of the bumper. Looking for step by step instructions.
View 24 RepliesI have a 2013 UGM GTI. The amber side markers are really starting to bother me. I've looked at ECS Tunings side markers (clear and smoked) but they show them on a white car. Which would look better on a medium gray car like mine?
View 17 RepliesI have an 05 GLI with many mods, far from stock. In the past i have tried to recode the ABS module with my vag com to ABS only because the traction control does not work when you make 300whp and im sick of pushing the button every time i get in the car. The module will not take the recode so i gave up. Then about a week ago the ABS light came on for no reason and i can not turn off the traction control with the esp button so i checked the code.
It said something about a system test (ill have to check it tomorrow to find out what the code was) i tried to clear it and it would come right back with no other codes. Then i took the car out and beat on it and the traction control still works (or trys to) and i hammered on the brakes and the ABS still works and the fluid is still full. Then i came to red light and i after i stopped i pushed the brake petal hard and the traction control light started flashing (im still stopped and not moving at all) It just kept flashing for over a minute even after i started driving. Then the tc light stayed on and the ABS light went off. As soon as i turned the car off and back on it was ABS light on and tc light off. Still only the same code stored. I tried recoding it to a car with ABS, ESP, and HD suspension and it took that coding. But still had the same code so i recoded it back to my oem one.
Any way to clear the "service required" indicator that pops up when you first start the car?
View 2 RepliesJust picked up some VMR V701 18X8.5 with a 45 Offset in Gunmetal. Do I need Spacers to clear the brakes and prevent rubbing for the front and/or rear? If so, how many mm?
View 4 Replies01 vw passat 1.8, spark plug hole number 2 is full of liquid possibly anti freeze, head gasket looks wet. Water pump is pumping and thermostat is opening, car overheated. Also my engine clicks so bad it sounds like a diesel when i am below 1500 rpms but above with more oil pressure it's fine, I have been told camshaft.
View 4 RepliesI own a 2010 Toyota Corolla. Approximately 1 month ago I noticed green colored drops on the dashboard and on the windshield (inside). The car is still in warranty. I took it to the dealer, but they could not find where this liquid is coming from.
View 10 RepliesWhile a friend was using my 2003 Nissan Sentra evidently a child spilled a sugary drink onto the gear shift console without my friend realizing it. The car sat for 2 weeks in the Sept. heat. When I drove it for the first time, I noticed a grinding sensation when I put the gear shift into reverse and park. The other settings were normal. Do I need to have it checked out, or will the motion of using the gear shift eventually wear away the sticky mess that obviously is in there? My husband didn't notice a thing, but it is my car and he very seldom drives it.
View 3 RepliesSo here's my problem, some put shampoo or liquid soap in my gas tank, I was told to put a can of Sea Foam into the tank, then fill it up with gas, they said it will not hurt anything, only make it run rough until all the shampoo/soap is out of it,.....I put the Sea Foam in it, filled it up with gas, drove it 65 miles and it drove fine, no problems what so ever,I was cruising down the interstate, had the cruise control on at 60, and it started going down in speed, I caught it at 55mph, gave it a lil gas, it started chugging for about 2 miles, then it started making this clunking noise coming from the bottom half of the motor, I gave it a lil more gas, the noise went away but it chugged for maybe another mile, then it came out of it....the very next morning, I jumped in it, went to start it and it would NOT start .....it cranks over but its acting like its getting no fuel what so ever, I had the fuel pump tested and its fine,....so my question is.....what will shampoo/soap do to a motor/fuel system and what should I check next??
