Ever since I painted my car my outer door handles have not worked properly. Once you open the door using the inner door handle then the outer one works fine...lock the doors and the outer handle becomes almost useless. I say almost useless because if you kind of pull it just right it seems to catch and work. How to remedy it? Really tired of using this auto window roll down to reach in and open the door.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2013 Santa FE 2.0T Limited with the Smart Key setup. Since new, when I would approach the vehicle and the key was within a yard of the door handle, the small lights in the door handle would come on so we could see the handle. A couple of weeks ago the vehicle battery died (again) and now those lights will only come on once the button is pushed.
The dealer had the vehicle for 90 minutes and could not find any thing wrong other than the Welcome Light was turned off in the center info console from the dead battery episode. I checked it again last night and the proximity lights still do not work. How tp get the proximity lights working again?
My windows wont work and my interior door handles ALL need replacing. How exactly can I do this? I had to replace one a while back when the windows worked but I am stumped as to how I am going to attempt this. The only way I can exit my truck is to get someone to open it from outside or climb out the rear window (I'm a thick female and this is annoying/embarrassing).
View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 Phaeton v8. The keyless entry feature on the exterior door handles has stopped working. The car neither locks or unlocks using the keyless entry feature. I tried using accessing the car with different key Fobs to no avail.

View 7 RepliesSo yesterday I come out of a store and hit the button on my remote and pull my handle and nothing.. I hit the button a few more times i and i hear it clicking but its not unlocking..
So I climb in and unlock it from the inside and start locking and unlocking it and finally it starts working again.. I get home car sits for a few hours and i head out to walmart door opens fine when I leave walmart it is fine.. this mourning taking my son to the sitters it was fine and leaving there to go to work it was fine..
At lunch at work it wouldn't open again no matter what i tried i couldn't get it to work.. i call the dealer and have an appointment in the AM for them to check it out..
On a side not one of my drivers side front speaker in the same door is cutting in and out and hisses every now and then..
I have the car stored but when I went to start it last week it was dead. Trickle charged the battery and noticed on the cluster my car said the door was open (it was not). I firmly closed it and it the indicator went off, check later and the light came back on. It's likely hardware and not something I can clear so any tips?

So it's almost been two years since the last post in regards to this but I thought I would share a similar experience I'm going through with my 2007 GS 350. 2 months ago I broke down and bought a set of hinges for the right rear door because it got to the point that you physically had to walk with the door to close it ($400 parts, labor, paint). I am now having a similar experience with the driver door and it's getting worse every month.
I brought a 99 Passat V6 with 46k miles and the car is now having problems with the driverside power door lock. I hit the remote to unlock the car but the door wont open. After several attempt, im able to open the door.
View 4 RepliesMy 2008 F150 Super Crew Door locks use to work like this, When you pushed the unlock button on the key fob once it unlocked the driver door only then if you pressed it again it unlocked the other 3 doors. A few months ago it started unlocking all 4 doors with one press. The owners manual does not show this as a option and when I had it at the dealer for brakes they tried to get it back the way it was but could not figure it out either.

I think the problem started after I had the battery changed out, how to get it back to one push for drivers door only?
View 2 RepliesI'm having some problems with the power windows and locks. The passenger side window only works when it wants to. The power lock on the same door will not lock unless I push it down. And the lights that are on the switches don't work.
View 4 RepliesI had some Helix HID lights installed (opdparts). The lights all work except the driver side low beam. Here are two short vids showing problem:
The light in question also will flicker if I hit a bump. I tried to research solution but i'm ignorant on this matter.
Also The adjustments do work for the light. I can raise/lower or make beam go left or right.
Just the other day my remote began to stop unlocking my doors at all? And the hatch button works most the time along with the lock. Locking it always sets the alarm but on occasion it doesn't actually lock the door. Am I just out a whole key..
View 13 RepliesHeat blows warm at best and A/C isn't all that cold. I want to believe its a blend door issue and dive into it this weekend and fix it but there isn't a single piece of foam coming out of any of the vents. Of all the systems on the car HVAC isn't my cup of tea I don't know anything about it. What else could be the problem?I can live without A/C but the heat things must be fixed.

View 2 Replies So far i haven't been able to find a lot of solid info on this rain sensor. Here's what i know:
My sensor indeed works, if i remove it and move my fingers the wipers will speed up/slow down accordingly. It looks like the window has been replaced and a very "shotty" job was done replacing the sensor/rearview mirror.
There was extra adhesive around the sensor, i removed that and cleaned it up, also cleaned up the gel over the sensor. Reinstalled everything, still cannot get it to work.
If i have just the sensor on the windshield, it semi-works, but when i put the mirror back on, it doesnt work at all.
I know the sensor is good, i get the fastest wiper settings. Relay #192 is good.
My best guess:The sensor is going bad, or the gel isn't making a good enough contact with the windshield allowing it to "detect" the rain hitting it. You can tell the gel isn't in the best of shape and I am pretty sure that's the culprit.
Where to locate a rain sensor? or the Gel, or if any gel can be used, I am going to try and find something i can "substitute" in place of the gel thats on it.
The interior door handles that is. Not the actual chrome but the black plastic that is made to be held when closing the door. Damn I hate it. Gives the car such a cheap feeling.

Looking for a DIY about removing exterior door handles? I am referring strictly on the handle, not the mechanism inside the door.
