Ive been hearing some noises coming from the right side of the dashboard when I turn the heat on. Then last night, smoke/steam started coming through the vents with a strong odor. Popped the hood and there is some smoke coming from behind the engine as well. Sounds like the heater core but why the smoke from the engine? Temperature gauge reads as normal and I have no lights on the dash.
View 3 RepliesI am having problems with squeaks and other noises from the dash. The dealer sprayed some foam on the dash board (underside of it) to quiet the noises. It didn't work. The repair order says he sprayed the air bag cover. I'm not an expert on air bags but would this effect the function of the bag?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2003 Honda Pilot with about 152,000 miles on it. Recently while driving if i have the radio on or have my ipod hooked up, the volume will turn all the way down and the dashboard warning lights will turn on. It only lasts for a few seconds at a time but it happens very randomly. Sometimes it won't happen at all and other times it will occur every few minutes or so.After the few seconds the volume turns back up to its previous set level and the dashboard lights go back to normal. The way the lights come on seems pretty random as well. Sometimes it will just be the "parking break" light and other times it will be all of the warning lights. I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe a fuse is shorting out?

When I hit the glove compartment, the air starts to come out, but it is very low and stops after a minute or two. I just want to know if the blower motor is dying, and how to replace it, if it is really the blower.

About two weeks ago I started hearing some creaking noises coming from the rear of my car. I thought, I need to put some grease to the RSB bushings, but this didn't work. After a close inspection I notice that the sway bar was rubbing.
The RSB was installed about 3 1/2 months ago and didn't have any issues. What could be causing the problem? I am suspecting the endlinks are going to be culprit. the car is used as a daily driver. what endlinks would you recommend to get?
So I just replaced my upper strut bushings and bearings and there's still noises coming from the struts or idk what it is but its coming from up front and when I back up and turn the wheel or when I am driving down my drive way there's little bumps and once i drive over them the car just makes all this noise. Pretty much what else could it be? are my struts blown? or could it be something is loose?
View 14 RepliesI am experiencing issues with front shocks RS2 Coilovers. I have this knock occurring from both front shocks. If they're set the softest, they're the worst...knocking noises over all small sharp bumps or sharp dips in the road. If I set them to full stiff and you drive it immediately after the ride is stiffer, but smoother, almost no noise at all, only when driving over roads that throw weight from side to side quickly will create the knock, but very light. However after a while of driving it just starts to make noise again as if they're unwinding on there own. When I check their position, they're where I left them. It feels as if the shock pressure bleeds until I perform the same routine and it feels tight again for a short period.
Its starting to annoy me now, car has 6000km on it and 600 km on the coilovers.
I'm looking to purchase a complete shifter assembly (cables, plastic box, shift lever, ect. Not the parts that bolt to the transmission itself) so I can reverse engineer them without having any down time with my car. I want to make an aluminum box and shifter assembly to eliminate all the plastic components in the stock shifter mechanism. I'm thinking along the lines of a VWMS billet shifter mounted down low in the box so it isn't seen when a shifter boot is used. This will hide the really cool assembly, but I'm after function here.
I'm currently at 23k miles and there are creaking noises coming from my shifter assembly. The shifter mechanism has also lost the crisp feeling it once had when it was new. The dealer has offered to replace it under warranty, but I want to do it once and do it right. The OEM plastic stuff will not cut it.
Cat like noises coming from front driver side tire .. honestly sounds like a cat ..it gets louder the faster I go ... what it could be ?

I had this noise a couple of years ago, and it went away. Now it comes on every time I start up, and there are no indicator lights or gauge problems. I don't have to have the car in motion either.
I had the dealer disable the run-flat computer about 5 years ago, so I don't see how it could be that.
I've been noticing my GTI has been making some weird noises, especially after only have 380 miles on it. When idling with the clutch engaged, it makes a rattling noise that goes away when depressed. There's also a rather loud sound coming from the timing belt and just underneath the plastic engine cover. I'm hoping it just needs breaking in, but I'd just like some reassurance that it's nothing serious.

It will blow cold air so I know the blower motor is working and pumping out cold air, and I am getting heat on the drivers side just fine. With the cold weather now settling into Ohio, I wanna jump on this issue before it becomes a bigger problem.
View 1 RepliesThis afternoon I was out for a drive and on my way home on the highway I had something give on the front passenger side suspension.
There was an "odd" feeling from the steering and then some noises from the passenger side front of the car. As I was slowing down there was more clunking/shuddering as I came to a stop. After stopping I looked at the wheel and noticed it looked "further" out, and had more give when pushing it than it should have.
I then tried to pull the car further off the road and discovered that it would not go into gear to move at all!

You can see above how the strap pulled on the tire, I tried loosening the strap on it up but it was still under tension.
So today I'm out running errands. Its hot and the ac is on. I notice water is coming out from underneath the dashboard on the passenger side. I pull the floor mat and water is everywhere. Soaked!! Ok so the ac water that's supposed to drip outside and underneath the car is now dripping inside the car. I pull off all the plastic crap, glove box to see if I can tell where its coming from. Not seeing it. Also some crap must have gotten wet because my check engine light is on along with a flashing vsr off light.
View 6 RepliesRecently (last three months really), I've been noticing an oscillating squeaking noise coming from the passenger side of the dashboard on my '07 LS460. I've troubleshot the problem and have it isolated to coming on only when the A/C is turned on (recirculated or outside air- doesn't matter). When the A/C is off, the sound goes away.
No other squeaking noises at all coming from anywhere else on the car.
I have a sneaking suspicion it's related to the tensioner belt connected to the Air Conditioner, but I'm honestly not sure at all.
Might this be a more relatively simple belt issue? A/C is running pretty much all the time when the car is on- wouldn't be surprised at all if we've simply worn the belt through.

Vehicle has been in the shop several times within one month( Battery test, replace accelerate idle switch, rear end replace) latest dilemma is with a constant clicking sound coming from under/ near dashboard on passenger side . No interior lights. All this occurs before I turn over the ignition. On some occasions if I enter the vehicle and don't hear the constant clicking sound. Whola, the vehicle starts every time. I disconnect the battery cable when coming in over night. 1997 112,000 miles.
