Golf IV R32 :: Mass Flow Rate On Healthy MAF - Code 17560
Jun 19, 2010
I am throwing a code for long term fuel trim being out of whack (code 17560) and I am trying to determine whether the MAF is causing it.
I pulled several redline runs while logging flow rate in vagcom. According to Ross tech's site they suggest that your flow rate should be around 80% of the engines rated horsepower. So approximately 200 g/s. I did several runs and never broke 100 g/s so what I should be seeing or has run into this code before.

Need to diagnose an issue with my 2012 GTI its got 39,000 miles its stage 2 Unitronic tune. So I was driving like an idiot coming home one night and i jumped a set of train tracks. Bent my plastics a little and when I cranked my car the next day my CEL was on. I noticed my intake was much noiser than usual. My buddy checked the code and said i needed a new mass air flow sensor. We replaced it and my CEl came back on within 20 minutes of replacing the sensor.

"VSC OFF" light came on the other day. I took my RX350 to the dealer. The dealer said Heater Element sensor is bad. They didnot have this part in stock. I googled this part. Nothing comes up under that search. I took it to Autozone and the code came up as Mass Air flow sensor. Are both of these same thing?

So, I've got a new toy (FORscan ODBII software) and a new code that isn't turning on the CEL (yet) but also didn't show up in OBDWiz either.
P1100 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit Intermittent
I cleared it, drove a few miles, checked again and it's set again.
The little troubleshooting advise window in FORscan says to monitor the MAF voltage while wiggling the MAF harness and see if the voltage goes below 0.23v or above 4.60v. I was unable to manually make that occur, no matter how I tapped on the MAF or wiggled the wiring.
However, in oscilloscope mode, look at this (at idle):
It sure looks like it went below 0.23v here. I have no time tonight to do any research. This is a relatively new MAF (one week old, Delphi unit). I think I'll swap it out for one of my two old OEM MAFs sometime this week. But if any opinion about this, pipe up. I do damned little work with scanners these days, and the tech keeps changing.

My check engine light keeps coming on sporadically and giving me a PO101 error code...then I'll reset it after making sure my MPG hasn't dipped a significant amount (which is my "concrete" way of gauging if it's performance is impaired) and it'll come on 1-600 miles later. There's no consistency in environment or conditions that are triggering this sensor, at least it's not obvious to me. I finally looked under the hood at the filter and it's a little dirty, but not nearly dark enough for it to be the problem.

I cleaned my k&n air filter on my 02 passat 1.8 turbo let it dry oiled it very lightly, and 50 miles later I get a check engine light on, pulled the code 16486 and it says Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Low Input. Cleared the code put a frame in until I can get it filter. Why that would throw me that code, k&n oil gumming up my sensor??

My truck threw a P2073 code. Its Manifold Absolute Pressure/Mass Air Flow - Throttle Position Correlation at Idle. I do have aftermarket intake. It threw this code 2 weeks after install. Does this mean my mass air flow sensor is going to fail soon?

What is that called? Mass air flow sensor wiring harness? I google 2011 vw gti MAF wiring harness, and i get nothing, or crap thats almost not related to what im looking for. While I was installing my intake, I accidently cut half of the wire to my MAF located behind the battery. Why I was cutting, dont ask, i was impatient. Anyways, what is it called? I want to replace my MAF and the wiring that leads to it.

So i got the UM tune done to my car then went and got my TT cams installed. After giving me car the 50 miles to adjust for the cams i get a CEL P0103 Mass or volume air flow circuit high input. Checked the connections around the maf and im noting seeing any broken vac lines or anything out of the ordinary.
Cleaned the maf and cleared the code but the CEL popped back up, got a new maf just because I like spending money on things i dont need and the CEL is still there, low speed or high speed it will pop on.
Is there anything I am missing that could be causing this problem or something i can try other then take to the place that did my cams?
2004 r32
123k miles on it
UM NA tune
carbonio CAI
TT cams
Test pipe and neuspeed cat back exhaust

Today the flow rate of the air out of the vents on my Prius has noticeably dropped.
It makes no different which vents I select (front, feet, or windscreen).
The blower seems fine - it's still making its normal noise.
The air still blows out nice and cold, there just isn't much of it coming out, even on full blast.
I've pulled the cabin air filter and checked it's not clogged, so it seems like there must be a blockage downstream of the blower.

Im trying to change my spark plugs in my 2.0T. For some reason I can not figure out how to undo the mass airflow sensor from the connector and the same for the spark plug coils.

I've had two mass air flow sensors burn out in my 05 TDI Passat. Dealer says it's faulty wiring in my vegetable oil conversion. Sensible?

I think I'm getting bad gas mileage on my 03 passat... I don't think it's my imagination...? I'm gonna keep track of how many miles I get next time I fill up, how do I know if I should look into a new MAF sensor?

Oil leak.... I can not locate the MAF sensor in my 2012 gls 2.4l sonata. I followed from the front tube intake through the air box to the throttle body and i do not see one. I also have the service manual and no mention of said sensor!

Cleaning the MAF on the GX460? I have seen videos on youtube but the MAF positioning on the GX460 is a little hard to get to. I am wanting to clean the MAF because I am still experiencing some sluggishness. The vehicle's response had improved after a fuel induction and a spark plug change but it is still sluggish when compared to other GX's I have test drove. It is sort of inconsistent. Sometimes, it drives super smooth and the gears quickly shift other times the gears take forever to upshift and downshift.

Ok so I just replaced my mass air flow sensor about a week ago. My check engine light just came back on and when I scanned it it said mass air flow sensor. What could be causing this to happen again? The codes are P0102, P0440, P0440.

2006 Sonata with 3.3L V6. How to remove the MAF sensor on this engine? I see it right between the air cleaner and the throttle body input but can't get the electrical connector off for one thing. I bought some MAF cleaner (don't use carb cleaner) and did this on my other car (a Saab) and I cleaned the throttle body butterfly valve at he same time (with Valvoline carb and Throttle Body cleaner spray). It really needed it. I use a lightly oiled K&N filter on the Sonata and I hear it's even more important to clean the MAF sensor it under these conditions. You just blast it with the spray and reinstall.

I had to have my 2009 Prius towed 2 days ago. It has just over 73000 miles. I was on the highway and suddenly experienced a lack of power. Eventually, the dashboard lit up: check engine light, big red exclamation point, and my favourite: it said "problem" on the center display. I pulled over and let it sit for a few minutes and tried starting it.
All the same warning lights came on. The battery level was at 1 bar. The gasoline engine would start for maybe 10 seconds and shut off. I could move the car on battery power only, but I had several miles to go before the next exit, uphill, so I figured I needed to be towed.
Long story short, my dealer said all this is due to a failed mass air flow sensor, and is going to replace it. Does that make sense? I thought a faulty sensor might make the car run roughly or whatever, but not actually prevent the engine from running.

Got told by the dealer I need to replace my Mass Air Flow Sensor...to the tune of $657 dollars. And get a throttle body cleaning.
