Well I have a loud clicking noise, mostly when the car is under load (pulling out, braking) at low speeds. First I thought it was the RSB but now it sounds like it's coming from the front of the car. I'm thinking it could be either motor mounts or tie rod. The car has 37K miles. I just can't seem to pinpoint where the noise is coming from yet.

The other morning when i started the car, i heard 3 short clicking noises come from the dash area. it did it again randomly in single clicks while driving. This morning, it did it again. I shut the hvac off, turned it on again, and i get one loud click. of and on a few more times produced the same results. went for breakfast, shut the car off, leaving the hvac on. when i started the car, i got the 3 loud clicks again.
I recently had a good amount of work done to my Mk4 R32. Last night on my drive home from the stealership I ended up with a passenger headlight out and a very loud clicking/ticking noise which seems to be coming from the Serpentine belt area. After closer inspection it looks like the tensioner lines are't lined up which means my belt and tensioner need to be replaced? I'm not sure, but I have a video and this picture.

View 9 RepliesI have 2 b6 passats. Both of them are rattle free except for this clicking noise that is all the time and loud from the glove box. It does it any time the car moves or hits a bump. If you put the slightest touch on the glove box, the noise stops. If you open the glove box, the noise is still there.

View 5 RepliesI hadn't driven my car for nearly a month and when I returned I noticed a rather loud "clunking" noise when moving the A/T out of park. The sound is coming from the steering column and is quite pronounced. Is it normal?
I am also hearing a sound something like a bad wheel-bearing while accelerating that I never heard before. It sounds like it's coming from the front end of the car.
When I hit bumps, yank to the left, or go above a certain speed my steering wheel will start shaking and a loud clicking noise happens.

This is with the AC running. That wheel spin and loud click (it's a lot louder in person) is starting to annoying me. When I am sitting in traffic or at lights and I have the AC running the noise is very noticible in the cab. If the AC is off the idle settles down and the click goes away. So what causes this - AC compressor going out? It needs lube? Freon?
I Have a 2002 Trailblazer and when i turn on the rear A/C there is a loud clicking sound coming from the back of the truck. It is on the passenger side up by the interior light in the third row. If i turn off the Rear A/C or turn the knob and have both the overhead and the feet blow out it does not click.
View 3 Replies06 GS430 has started making this loud clicking noise when we start the car ... not all the time but very often ... it almost sounds like a jackhammer and is extremely loud. Goes on for a good 20-30 seconds then goes away.
The location sounds like it is coming from the glove box area but not really behind it, more below and behind it..
Just started yesterday. Transmission makes a loud clicking noise when put into reverse or drive, once car is driving it shifts fine throughtout the gears. Only happens when car is started up everytime
View 4 RepliesMy 2003 Mustang convertible (6cyl) has recently started making a loud clicking noise under the hood that seems to come on after driving in stop-and-go traffic or when turning on the a/c. I don't notice it when driving on the highway at a relatively steady speed. The clicking will continue for a minute or so and then stop for a while. I had also noticed a strange melting plastic or chemical smell coming from under the hood whenever clicking has happened. I had also noticed a couple weeks ago that at stop lights, the a/c was blowing warm air even when on the coldest setting. The air would then become cold again after driving for about a minute. What could this problem (or problems) be and can I fix it (or them) myself?
View 2 RepliesI noticed today when my Touareg is running but in park, each time I step on the brake I hear a loud clicking noise coming from the shifter. I assume the noise is the safety lock engaging and disengaging that allows you to put the car in gear while the brake pedal is pressed. I never noticed the noise before but usually I have the radio on. Is it normal to be able to hear this noise?

View 13 RepliesMy G6 is in great condition, except that starting a few or two ago a relatively loud clicking noise (one or two clicks per second) from behind the glove compartment started up once I turn on the engine. The weird thing I've noticed is when and how often it happens. 25% of the time it doesn't click at all when you start it. No matter what, if you drive at least 30 minutes it'll stop. And finally, the clicking only happens when the defroster is on; if you turn on normal heat and press the air recirculator, it stops immediately.

View 7 RepliesI have a 24v GLI with the O2M 6-speed trans. This morning while leaving for work I accidently let the clutch out while in gear and my e-brake still on. Heard a really loud bang and the engine didn't stall out (which it should have). Now I have no engagement in any gear and there is a very loud clicking that changes with RPMs. Did I blow the CV joint, or is this something much worse (blown diff, destroyed clutch, etc.)??? I'm border-line freaking out!
View 9 RepliesI recently purchased a beautiful 07 LS460 with 24K miles about 3 weeks ago.
About 2 weeks ago, I noticed a loud clicking / hammer noise from the dashboard lasting about 15- 20 seconds and after reviewing numerous threads here, I realized it could be my blender door / damper due to the infamous cabin air filter change. .
It must be noted that the Dealer did not change the cabin air filter and when I looked inside my glove box, I could easily open / close the blender door using the recirc ac button. Additionally, my cooling and fan is working fine as well, so I am not too sure that this is a blender door issue.
My question is that the noise continues to happen for about 20 seconds when the car is started and shut off. Since my blender door / damper opens and closes smoothly, is the servo motor going bad or servo sub assembly?
If it is my servo motor, could it be possible that it was damaged when the cabin filter was replaced? With the car only bearing 24K miles, I cant believe my servo motor has already gone bad!
