Golf IV R32 :: Installing New Bumper - Screws And Nuts?
Aug 5, 2013
Brand new bumper came in without screws and nuts, it's ready for painting but i need the right hardware. (photos are simply for reference)
I want to keep the screws and nuts OEM meaning as close to as exact as possible without home depot or some lame arse hardware store, i'm talking about original VW if possible parts. Or at least the clips if anything at all. VW dealer hasn't supported much either, they just said go to Home Depot and buy some regular screws and u-nuts but I want everything as if it came straight off the dealership. I do not believe that all screws and nuts are created equal and where to get exact right hardware I need.
As far as I know the bottom needs 18 or so 5mm nuts and "u-nuts" that they screw into. And there's also the stock scoop, where to even start with screws on this one.

I just completed a detailed cleaning of my SF last weekend and I noticed that every plastic screw and plastic nut inside the wheel wells were all loose. (Not the screws on the outside but inside above the tires.) I tightened them only finger tight.

I took apart my front bumper for my 2012 Camry SE a while back and swapped it when I hit a cone on the freeway.
I accidentally lost one of those metal nuts that goes underneath the bumper - its like a hexagon if I remember correctly. - I had to use a torque wrench to open them and there was like 8 or 10 total.

How to remove/install a reflector on the right rear side of the 'lower' rear bumper? I don't see any screws. So, can I pop it out with a screwdriver? Or, is it attached from the inside?

I'm going to work with my cousin change his oil pan on his 2002 passat 1.8T and I would like to know what torque the screws from the oil pan should be? Is the anything specific that I must know about doing this? Anything to make the job easier, faster and to not make mistakes.

I took my car to my usual trusty mechanic. Trusty asked where I had had the last rotation done. All the lug nuts were overtightened. The manual says to tighten to 96 pound-feet (that’s a measure of torque). All the nuts were tightened well past this. Many came loose at 200 foot-pounds. More at 300 foot-pounds (that’s as high as they wanted to go with their pneumatic torque wrench). There were still 5 nuts that didn’t budge. They brought out the manual torque wrench and muscled 4 of those loose. But one on the left rear wheel wouldn’t come loose.
So they made it a 3-wheel rotation, and left the left-rear wheel in place. I had a puncture driving over a piece of road junk last spring out of state and had to buy a new tire. Clearly the people at Roadside Tire had no clue (although why they messed with the other three wheels is a mystery. But although the left rear is the newest tire, i still don't want to have to trade the car in when the tire is worn! Nor do I want to trash out the rest of the assembly. What to do?

The lock in the cargo hatch of my 2003 Honda Pilot is loose and wobbles around -- you have to really slam the door hard to get it to engage, and it rattles. I went to Autozone and showed it to them, and the guy pulled the trim molding out slightly and retrieved two short screws with large flat heads. Said I needed to remove the trim panel and put the screws back in. So -- how do I remove the trim panel so I can do this? Do I need specialized tools, and is this something I can do myself?

So I first heard a clicking noise last week but it got worse this morning. Half-shafts? Wheel bearings? 165,000 miles on original brake pads.
I turned around and dropped the 03 Prius at the dealer and asked for a diagnosis:
Two lug nuts missing. One lug nut finger loose.

I was driving my truck and I heard a noise around the front drivers side wheel area, like a loose center cap. I got home and jacked up the wheel and grabbed it, it wiggled side to side and u and down. Would that be wheel bearing or tie rod end or something else

Just wondering if this is normal or not. I have a 2007 Sonata GLS. Recently I replaced the front and rear pads with ceramic pads and new rotors in the rear. My question is, is it normal for the brakes to heat up to the point that the lugs nuts are hot to the touch. As far as I know I am not doing any hard braking just normal driving in the city. But when I touch the rims and especially the lugs, they are hot and can burn to the touch. Is this because of the ceramic pads?

I've noticed quite a few threads looking for the shock bolts lately. I've replaced one of mine and just had another break. Today I ordered replacements for all 4 nuts and bolts.
The Bolt part number is - N605906-S2
The Nut Part Number is - N803714-S426

I installed the pierburg revised DV yesterday because my old DV was shot, squealing and leaking boost. After installing it I noticed that when i'm under around 15 psi and i let it build up that I get this flutter I didnt have before. I assume its the wastegate but I haven't heard it prior to installing the new DV so my fear is that its the valve no circulating and its putting the unused psi back through the turbo (not good).

I'm having trouble removing the front bumper. Does it remove like the GTI or is it different? I don't have the confidence to pull harder without knowing.

-I currently have a CTS turbo intake, 42DD turboback and installed the Autotech HPFP. After we installed the HPFP and drove around the block I threw a CEL. (not sure the exact code # ) but it was related to the cam shaft.
We were unable to upload the 2+ tune because his computer which has his APR info is under repair. My guess is that I am throwing a CEL because I upgraded the HPFP but do not have a tune for it yet. Who else has installed a HPFP before getting the tune?

So i have been looking to get some new headlights with the projector housing but noticed that most of them have a fog light which my car does not have. I know in order to get them to work properly i would need the euro switch, but would i need to run additional wires through the firewall?

I'm interested in installing a staggered set of wheels on the R. The size I'm looking are 18x8.5 and 18x9.5. My question is what wheel sizes should I run to keep everything within spec of my Haldex unit? Ive read about staggered units having to be within 3 or 4% so nothing breaks down prematurely.
