The code the R threw was p0606 which is the Powertrain/ Engine control module? Where these components are in my R? Or how I can go about trouble shooting this problem?
View 9 RepliesI have a 2013 VW Passat TDI SE DSG and I was trying to do some tweaks. I found this fault code yesterday and cleared it. I scanned it again this morning and it popped up again. I searched and did not foud anything. No check engine light.

Has scanned the car while had the airbag fault present and if so, is this the usual harness that needs to be changed?
So I had a P0606 code which points to a PCM/ECU fault. It would come and go and not really cause much of a problem with driving. It did stall once but it started right back up. The light would come on for half a day and go off. Rinse and repeat......
The dealer replaced it today under my extended warranty. Sure enough, the CEL returned today. I haven't had the code read but I can only assume it will be P0606 again.
Getting this code. 01309 - Power Steering Control Module (J500) on my 2012 GTI. Does the module need to be reset or does it need to be replaced?

Truck seems to be driving fine (except it just recently developed what I think is either the cam phaser tick or an exhaust manifold leak on the passenger side).
I haven't tried clearing the code to see if it comes back. This is on a 2006 F150 FX4 with the 5.4L...
Getting one of those CEL error codes P000A Powertrain on my R32. I used my cheap OBDII bluethooth readers.
Taking it to local shop tomorrow, but they want $109 to scan the car with there VW OBDII scanner.
Why can that scanning be a free charge

2012 GTI. DSG My airbag was blows, so I replaced it. Now im getting the following code.
18036 - Powertrain Data Bus
P1628 - 000 - Missing Message from Steering Angle Sensor
Can the sensor go bad after the airbag was blown? All the steering wheel controls still work.
I've tried to do my due diligence searching on this (I've seen many posts but most have other codes).. I have the P000A code, reads as follows-- Intake (A) Cam Position Sensor Slow Response (powertrain).
I have no misfires, hesitation rough idle, nothing. I have 94k miles and I always done my oil changes @ 5k intervals and I have not had any prior engine maintenance done to the car....
I took my R32 to the local VW dealer today and they are saying they believe it might be the time chain tensioners. I am wonder if this could be a simple sensor issue since the car runs perfectly fine, I just get the engine light coming back on after 1 to 2 weeks of clearing the code. I have had this issue since January and I thought it might be the cold weather here in WI.
I have an 04 V6, yesterday it was perfectly fine...last night we had torrential down pours, high winds and standing water... not sure if any of that matters, but this morning I went to take the kids to school and my "BRAKE" light, the ABS light, and the exhaust lights were all on. Took it to a local shop and had them check for codes. They said it was U0121... lost communication with ABS module. What should I do? I drove it a couple of miles back to the house and again earlier this evening to see if anything felt different, but all seems the same.
View 2 RepliesI own a 2014 F-150 XLT 3.5 L 6 cyl Twin. Saturday afternoon I tried to start the truck once and it didn't start like it normally does. It started on the second try, but the A/C didn't work and I got a "Starting System Fault" warning on my screen. When I shut the truck off, it would not start at all. All the lights and gauges worked, just no start.
Had to tow it to Ford Dealer, where the service department had already closed for the day (of course). Today it was determined by the service department that the Body Control Module had malfunctioned. I was told that the tech tapped on the control module and the truck started. Now waiting two days for a replacement part to come in. Luckily, I'm just under 36K miles and three years. Is this a common occurrence?
How to fix SES P0670?? I understand there's a whole procedure on checking fault.

But how did you resolve problem? replaced GPCM, found open circuit, short --if so where?-- or replaced with updated harness.

2 weeks ago a check engine light came on with P0351-Ignition Coil "A" Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction, took the car to Toyota dealer and replaced ignition coil for cylinder No1. I drove the car for about 10K and check engine light came on again with P0606-PCM Processor Fault.
For the past week I was monitoring the DTC's using INNOVA- CanOBD2 Code Reader 3030 (ordered ODB2 USB tool to check live data on a laptop, on it's way...). I had P0606 on all the time, about everyday. For 3 times I had P0157-O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank #2 Sensor #2) on.
What's the link between the two DTC's? Why not P0157 alone? Or P0606 alone? What is the procedure to diagnose this?
This is a 2008 Prius with no check engine light or other operational issues. The car runs fine. When doing a health check with a Techstream scanner (new toy), it shows the code U0073 along with U0123, 124, 126, and 293. Need to further diagnose what may be wrong?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2002 7.3L and keep throwing a P0683 code (Glow Plug control module to PCm comm circuit). I have looked though all the Forum posts I could and it looks like the GPR, or the GPCM, or harness are at fault. I know my truck has the GPCM ... does it also have a GPR? I am not getting ANY individual GP failure codes, but the damn thing is having a hell of a time starting in the cold.
1) How do I determine if the GPCM is bad?
2) If I have a bad ground?
3) Bad connector to GPCM connection?
4) If something is wrong with the wiring harness itself
Last night I unplugged the harness from the GPCM, cleaned the connectors, added di-electric grease to improve the connections .. made no difference.
After running to operating temp, if the car is turned off then restarted (like you would at a gas station, which is where I notice this) the engine will turn and turn and turn but not fire. I have noticed that stomping on the acceleration will cough it into life during this procedure. This doesn't happen every time and I have recently run high octane gas during a long distance trip.

My friend has a 07 Camry 4cyl and has code P0606, Engine control module/Powertrain control module processor. The car runs and drives good. My friend recently got the piston rings replaced about a month ago for the recall, and he told me the service light was not on when he dropped off the vehicle. After he got it back it wasn't on and just came on a few days ago. Hard to believe the ECM is bad on the car, I'm thinking it was something with the removal and install of the engine causing P0606. Does it need to be reflashed?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2012 6.7 with a Spartan tuner. Threw this code a few months ago. Reset everything, trucks runs great, no issues. Never had this code come up again. I've looked it up and it says, "Internal Control Module Torque Performance". I'm just not sure what this means.
View 2 RepliesMy mechanic has diagnosed a trouble code P0601 (Internal Control Memory Fault) on my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. He and I feel the car is running fine. Do I need to get the PCM replaced (as I've been reading online) or can I drive it as is? We don't have emissions checks.
