View 4 RepliesMy 2005 Jeta GLI is making some crazy noise when i turn to the left from the driver side I tough the problem was the axle so I had the front part replaced and the noise still there I don't know what else needs to be replaced ....
View 10 RepliesHow do I get my DRLs to turn off during the day? if I wanted my headlights when I was driving around during the day, I would turn them on, but I don't, so is there a simple disconnect that turns them off or does I need to replace something?
View 6 RepliesI was on the way home tonight and I noticed the driver side HID headlight turn off after putting my turn signal on.
I have LED DRL fog lights installed and they're wired with no relay and plugged into the Engine Compartment fuse box. The installer connected them on the left side (where the wires come in, from the two black components by the air filter).
Could this wiring setup be interfering with the HID's?
I remember reading a post here a while back from member who had replaced almost all (if not all) of his lights with LEDs, but I can't find it now. I already replaced the interior lights and the rear license plate lights with LEDs. Now it's time to replace my front turn signals as one is very dim and sometimes doesn't work. I'm looking for info on the proper LED bulbs for it. I know the stock bulb is an 1157, but I'm looking for an LED that doesn't need a separate resistor installed. Also, I'd like to replace my stock DRL bulbs with LEDs.
View 11 RepliesI have bi-xenon lamps and DRLs. The manual states that the DRLs are supposed to turn off when the transmission is in Park and the parking brake is engaged. My DRLs do NOT turn off.
So, my question is: Do your DRLs turn off when the car's in Park and the parking brake is engaged?
I just noticed yesterday when I used the electronic Parking Brake. When I engaged the Electronic Parking brake, the DRL Indicator (light) on the dash went off. I did not go outside of the vehicle to see if they actually turned off (the vehicle was still running). Is that normal?
View 10 RepliesIs there a way to run the LED DRL's while headlights are on? Vagcom code? euroswitch? Not really too sure just figured I would throw this out there.. Somewhere in the options on the MFD??
I think if your parking brake is engaged they are on but if its just headlights on they turn off. Also I'll just whore this pic of my R ....
I have a 2011 GTi, and I'm sure this has been gone over many many times, but I need to be honest, with work and trade school and lack of a good smartphone I have no time to search this on vortex. I just want to know how to turn my DRLs off on my GTi, its the sunroof nav package with BI Xenons. I think I heard you need to use VAG COM to load some special code, and that's about all I heard. So where to get it to turn these off.
View 12 RepliesSo, just recently i had both of my DRLs burn out. They both burnt out at the same time which I thought was weird but I thought that it was because of how cold it was here that it may have happened that way. So, I bought new ones and replaced one side and went to check it, nothing. Took it back out, checked the connections and reinstalled it. Nothing again. I looked at the fuses but didn't notice any blown ones so I am stating to think it is a head light switch.
View 7 RepliesNew to the MK6 world and the halogens they have.. I am used to having Xenons... My question is there a way to run DRL's and fogs together?
I know there's a way to wire the city lights and fogs to run together, but I love the way the halogen DRLs look and i would like to run them together with the fogs. I do have a Euro switch.
OK, few months ago, I bought a conversion kit from ebay: [URL] ....
I also installed the relay harness thingy as well: [URL] .....
Everything worked out fine for about two weeks, and then problem started. The bulb on driver's side, sometimes would not turn on. It's like it doesn't have enough power to initiate it. I tried with and without the relay harness, same result. If I turn it off and then wait for a few seconds, turn the switch, sometimes it would turn on, sometimes it wouldn't. And this happens to only the driver side and it drives me crazy.
So I guess the ballast went stupid, so i exchanged a new one. Same thing. I tried to switch the bulbs, no better result.
But here is the strange thing, i popped the hood, have someone turn on/off the light too see what's happening. When the light (driver's side) turn on, everything seemed normal. But when it does not, it makes this little buzzing sound for like 1/3 of a second, and a little flash at the transparent wire from the ballast to the bulb.
I mean one bulb is probably brighter than both OEM bulbs, but this is just so annoying...
My Drivers side headlight points slightly higher than my passenger side headlight. Is this normal or do I need to adjust, and if so how do I adjust?
View 6 RepliesI just noticed this, this weekend, sitting in GTI and Golf. I checked carefully, and indeed it feels like I'm not sitting directly in line with the steering column/wheel. It's not a huge issue, but just a little strange, that they wouldn't match them up straight?
View 24 RepliesOk so here's the deal.. A few weeks back I started to notice my passenger side window started to roll slower than the driver side, not by much but its pretty obvious enough every time you either roll the window down or up.. I made an appointment with a VW service center to have them look at it but they said they can't do anything about it .. Is this true ..? The service guy told me that their would be no way to make the motor of the window go any faster or slower.. However I'm back here again due to some clunking/ticking noise every time I roll my pax side window which develop during their first assessment.. So they ordered me a new window regulator which is getting put in now.. The main and initial problem as to why I made an appointment in the first place was for VW service center to fix my pax side window rolling a bit slowly. Now since they are replacing the regulator of my pax side window I asked the service guy whether this would fix the problem of the window rolling slower compare to the driver side and he bluntly said no.. "we cannot make the motor of the window go slower or faster".. Is their any way to fix the rate of the window to go up or down..?
View 6 RepliesI have koni seyup and my car is lowered all the way down all around. my front passenger side sits lower then the driver side.. I also have camber plates in the front. What u think could be the problem.
View 2 RepliesI'd like to run my DRL's and Fogs at the same time in auto mode. Currently if you have the headlights set to auto and turn on fogs it enables the regular headlights as well. Id like only the U shaped DRLs and the fogs.
View 2 RepliesTook the R in the touchless car wash Monday night and immediately drove home and parked in my garage. I went in to eat and came back out into the garage about 2 hrs later and noticed my replica A6 DRLs were on. I noticed that when I shook the wiring they would flicker but stayed on. I took off all the electrical tape and noticed water had somehow made it's way into the relay. I blew air on the relay and the receptacle. I then greased up the relay prongs and plugged it back in and shook the wiring again and the lights still flickered and stayed on. I pulled the relay to keep the DRL off so they wouldn't kill my battery. Hopefully when I plug the relay back in tonight, all the moisture will have dried up and the DRLs will only light up on ignition as their supposed to.
My question is: How do I keep moisture from getting into the relay in the future? I thought it was very well taped up with electrical tape, but water still managed to make it to the relay. I was going to reluctantly wrap the works with Saran Wrap and tape up the ends but that's the kind of ghetto fix that I usually stay away from.
On the MKVI Golf, is there a way to disable the DRL logo in the dash without having the DRLs off? I don't mind the headlights turned on....but the logo in the dash bugs me.
View 5 RepliesI got under the car today to change the oil and noticed the front drivers side is about an inch lower than the passenger side its causing the inside of my tire to wear very badly.
View 8 RepliesI've just finished installing Driver Side Puddle Lights just under the mirror. I still haven't coded it yet.
[URL]..................... I ran into a problem:
As I want to use the electrical mirrors to adjust my driver side mirror, passenger side mirror moves too. Is it possible that these faults caused by not coded ECU?
I connected ground wire of my LED to blue and black cable connected to the mirror and ran another wire from unit 10 in 16 pin door connector to live wire from my LED.
