Recently the dashboard lights for my .:R have been taking a few minutes to turn on after I turn on my headlights and the car has been running for a bit. What could cause this, my headlights turn on fine, its just the interior lights for the dash, radio and climatronic that don't turn on immediately, they end up turning on after a few minutes but it varies every single time.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2005 Prius with 105K miles on it. It was working perfectly until one day, the dashboard lights didn't turn on. I messed with the switch to the left of the wheel just to make sure I hadn't touched it, and that didn't work to turn them on.... then I went to turn my car off and it just didn't turn off! I tried several different techniques, made sure it was in park and not in neutral, and it just wouldn't turn off.
View 12 RepliesI had a check engine light come on yesterday, so went to go check out the codes today with an OBD scanner. After I plugged in the device, the ABS, VSC, ((!)) and brake lights all came on like they do when the car is started - however, this time they did not turn off.
View 1 RepliesStarting a few days ago, three lights on my dashboard display started to turn on. Sometimes they don't turn on for a few minutes after the car is running, but they do eventually turn on. The first is a red "BRAKE" light above the gas gauge. The second is a yellow/orange "ABS" light above the speedometer. And the last is a yellow/orange symbol of a car sliding, or swerving, this one besides the RPM gauge. What do they mean and why would they suddenly start turning on together?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Toyota Camry with electrical problems that started showing up recently. One day the check battery light turned on and about 15 minutes later the AC would lose power intermittently. After parking the vehicle that day I tried to start up and only heard a rapid clicking sound. I exchanged the battery since it was still under warranty and everything seemed to work fine for one whole day. The next day the battery light turned on again, followed by the ABS warning light, and then the airbag warning light. Within about 5 minutes the dashboard back light started flickering and other warning lights started lighting up randomly. Within a minute of that the car shutoff and would not start back up again.

When I press my AC button, a number of warning dashboard lights on my dashboard turn on, check engine, oil pressure, abs, air bag (pretty sure all of them). Each time this happens, I have my mechanic clear the warning lights in my dash. And no, the AC does not turn on.
I don't have any warning lights on my dash, and driving the car without pressing the AC button for weeks doesn't trigger any warnings. Once the AC is pressed, I get almost all of them, within a minute. The codes that his computer read are failure to communicate signals.
I recently have been running into some problems with my 03 jetta 2.0. Last night as I was driving home my radio start to turn off followed by ABS, airbag and battery lights coming on and then lights on the dashboard were dimming followed by headlights going out for a few secs then returning on but dim. I stopped in my drive way to open door and when I tried to press the accelerator, my car completely died.
Over the past 2 weeks or so I have had to change the fuel pump and the alternator because i thought that was the problem. I noticed when i first had problems the fuel pump wasn't charging so i changed that. then days later my car started to completely die when I tried to start it(not turning over, no lights no nothing). i tried a new battery it would still die. So I installed a new alternator. My car worked fine for about a week-week and a half before last night.
With AFS checked in settings, no codes, no error messages. The headlights are not turning with steering.
Is it possible to hard code them off since I bought the car used.
I switch headlights on, start the car, they do the dance and self level, they seem to work fine otherwise.
While driving home from work tonight a light on my dashboard began flickering when I was turning into the freeway. It is the far right set of lights, the third light from the bottom (or top as I believe there are only 5 lights/slots there)...

I have a 1997 Plymouth breeze. My car lately has been having issues when it accelerates. When ever I go over 3000 rpm's to quickly the whole front dash would turn off. The car still runs fine though and the head lights still stay on. When I let go of the gas the front dash would turn back on. It would eventually turn off again once I pass the 3000 rpm mark. I went to autozone to check the battery and their reader said that the battery was bad. I just want to make sure it is the battery before I buy a new one though.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2003 Honda Pilot with about 152,000 miles on it. Recently while driving if i have the radio on or have my ipod hooked up, the volume will turn all the way down and the dashboard warning lights will turn on. It only lasts for a few seconds at a time but it happens very randomly. Sometimes it won't happen at all and other times it will occur every few minutes or so.After the few seconds the volume turns back up to its previous set level and the dashboard lights go back to normal. The way the lights come on seems pretty random as well. Sometimes it will just be the "parking break" light and other times it will be all of the warning lights. I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe a fuse is shorting out?
View 4 RepliesI have a problem with Phaeton dashboard. There are no more lights in dashboard (speedometer, tachometer, etc.)
The small screen between speedometer and tachometer works just fine. If I use + and - buttons (which are designed to operate dashboard lights), the only thing that works - red arrows. I mean that red arrows in speedometer and tachometer DO LIGHT, but everything else remains black. No matter what position lights switch is in, dashboard has no lights.
It has happened when local dealer has updated engine software, but now they tell me it's a dashboard problem and they have nothing to do about it (unless I will pay for new dashboard). I guess software updating to version 0223 (I have 0220 now) won't work?
This morning I had to jump my LS 460, the battery was dead because a light was left on. When I jumped and All of the lights on the dashboard came on. Once the car started they stayed on. I put it in park and tried restarting it but to no avail.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2008 600hl. It showed Hybrid system failure and I took it to the dealer last week. They said that the hybrid system charges well but the issue seems to be 12V battery. I got the car back and drove for 1 day, it stopped again at a major red light. This was a dead stop on Friday 5 pm peak hour traffic. My little daughter was sitting behind and so many cars came close to hitting us which made me mad at Lexus. Luckily I called cops and then they gave protection till it was towed.
All dashboard lights got on and it would show the following:
- Check Hybrid System
- Check Brake System
- Check VSC
Check Hybrid System is mainly a cell or module failure. If they at the dealership were able to charge the Hybrid System, does it mean it was working? Their health check showed 75%
- Since the car stopped abruptly at a stop light, if we were hit from behind, does Lexus/dealership have any liability? My major issue was that my daughter sitting behind does not get hurt.
After rain my SF indicators in dashboard become crazy. Engine check, 4wd, reductor, TC stayed on when i start engine. Engine working is no good. I unplugged battery for 5 sec, and after that all is ok until next rain. If there is only one light on i know than there is a problem but 5 of them it looks like shortcut on some point.
View 10 RepliesI bought a 2006 Accent MC at the beginning of last month, got a new radio (Sony Xplorer) and asked my cousin to install it. He made the new radio work but went I decided to leave his place, the dashboard lights weren't turning on and the clock was off also. We tried to install the original radio back in but it didn't change anything, almost made it worse. Nothing was working at that point. Asked my other cousin to get a look, he finally made the new radio work (he burned a fuse and it wasn't working because of it) the clock went back on as well, but not the lights of the dashboard. He says the fuses are nice and he doesn't know what could be the problem. How is the radio related to these lights?
View 12 RepliesI have a Ford F-150. For about a year and a half, the dashboard lights will sometimes not come on. The air will blow, but not cool. I can hit on the left side of the dashboard and all will work just fine.
View 3 RepliesI've got a UHaul dolly, on which the platform where the front tires are can slightly rotate when the towing vehicle turns. I've been towing my 2012 Prius C for about 1,000 miles, got another 1,500 to go. Everything was going well until tonight. To tow, after getting much advice, I put my Prius C on "Park", parking brake disengaged and engine turned off. I checked on it a few times. At first, nothing to declare. But now, a few lights are on when I turn the car on!!!! ABS/regenerative brake/parking brake/anti-slip. Did I damage anything? We did not turn much, just a few times on parking lots. I am thinking maybe the steering was locked in front but because the dolly makes the wheels turn slightly with turning, it messed things up?
What should I do? I am thinking I could continue on with keeping the car turned on ACCESSORY mode and keep it on neutral, but that will likely kill the 12V after a while? Or I could turn the car ON, keep it on READY and NEUTRAL, hoping that the car engine will turn on when the battery needs to be recharged.
There's an annoying reflection in the windshield of the dashboard lights at night. What have any of you done to get rid of it?
View 15 RepliesI have a 2007 Prius with 145,000 miles.
We drove for an hour and a half. No problems on the way there. When we left there, there were no dashboard lights. The screen worked fine. So did the headlights and turn signals. But, no speedo or other dashboard lights. I wasn't worried. I figured we blew a fuse so I am going to check in a few minutes.
But when we got home, I couldn't turn the car off. I pressed the On/Off button many times and nothing. I tried putting the key fob in the socket, and hit the button and it shut off.
I have a 2009 Prius with less than 10,000 miles. Lately I have run into car starting up problems. I have smart key, but what happens is that even after pressing the brakes all the way and pressing the ON button, it won't start, it would just go into the state where all the indication lights on the dashboard are on. But so far I have been able to start it after a few tries, like after giving it some time etc.
