Just replaced my OEM clutch and flywheel with SPEC ones and now I have a weird clicking noise during idle from it. Noise goes away when I press in clutch. My technician says that they are known for this noise. Is that true?
View 6 RepliesI had this noise since purchasing car from dealer but always thought it was the injectors, Lately it has got a lot louder and I'm positive it's not my injectors. It comes and goes at idle but when I press the gas it stops for a bit.

I have had the clicking/popping clutch noise since I was breaking in the clutch but i thought it would eventually wear off. I have went through all the transmission threads and seen that a lot of people got it fixed having their clutch pedal assembly or master cylinder replaced.
So far from reading up here is my list:
1) Water pump.
Its not leaking or making noise at this time.
2) Clutch clicking at initial travel.
Noticed this on the first couple miles.
3) Smelly A/C.
This is ongoing
4) Wind noise from doors at highway speed.
Noticed this also
5) Wastegate rattle
Don't hear any rattle, or I am not narrowing down the sound when it happens.
Anything else I should add?
I have a funky screaming noise coming from my clutch when I press the clutch in down to the floor if I don't press it to the floor it doesn't make noise
and car still drives fine what is this noise. It makes a noise like when you over start the car it's weird. I never heard anything like this before is it a new clutch. I need or new throw out bearing of do I need to breed the clutch?
I bought my 2014 GTI TUESDAY... In less than 24 hours, I noticed a knock when the car was at idle with the clutch not in. Went away once the clutch was in. The car has 248 miles on it.
I am thinking it is the throw out bearing, but vw service seems to think it is nothing and they want to just run some tests and keep it for the weeknd. In all reality, I will have the rental longer than I actually had my brand new car.
I have a 2009 Hyundai sonata, 2.4, 5 speed manual, gls, when I press down on clutch whether from a stop or when shifting, I get a loud grinding noise and the radio goes dead at same time!, I know it is the starter attempting to "engage", at least that's what I believe it to be, it also "'starts "from, the "on " position when I press on clutch.
View 8 RepliesLong story..couple months ago while coming home my 08 Sonata 2.4L manual 84,000 miles...started making this grinding noise and would stop when I pressed the clutch in and then sounded like something was grinding near the passenger front wheel.. well I get it home and the next morning my husband and I ride up the road so he can hear it.. was going to take it to the shop but it stopped and ran just fine till the other day.. crank the car and its fine.. once it gets warmed up and a few miles down the road it makes a knocking noise...but only when I let off the gas or idling .. even pressing on the gas just a tiny bit made it stop (even tried in while parked in the driveway with the hood up to make sure the engine wasn't just drowning it out) well I took it to the local dealership today and they said it was the flywheel and that it and the clutch and bearing needed to be replaced..

Its like something continue to spin fast when I press the clutch at high rpm.
So when the car is idle i hear a weird rattle noise but when i push the clutch in the noise goes away.
View 5 RepliesThere is a pretty loud continuous clicking noise lasting about 30 seconds (not necessarily a bad one - just annoying) that comes on every thirty seconds to a minute when I'm driving my Prius. It happens more often now than it did 10,000 miles ago.
It also happens without fail for a few seconds every time I brake. Is this a normal noise? I fear it may be associated with the brake actuator--which the chirping noise is associated with.
If I press firmly on the brakes (which is rare), they chirp. Toyota released a bulletin on it. TSB BR001-07
I have a clicking binding noise while at idle, with the clutch out it goes away, when depressed its there. So, is this a bad throw out bearing? Clutches and flywheels?
View 12 RepliesI've searched but can't find what my problem is , ON idle when clutch is not depressed loud ticking noise , but when I push the clutch in it goes away . Also the ticking noise will get louder if I accelerate . ONLY Im first gear will I hear a loud grinding noise which means I have to quickly switch into second . Sound similar to something being dragged along a fence . Again the grinding sound I'm first will only happen if I'm giving it gas. Car has 325,000 km . Something with the transmission ?
View 1 RepliesThe truck in my sig. makes a clicking noise when it's in the park and I press the brake pedal down. The click is coming from somewhere up high in the steering column. It doesn't make the clicking noise in any other gear only in park. Might be normal but I don't remember hearing it before?
View 9 RepliesI have a 01 vw bora 1.8t and recently I let it sit for one day and now it has trouble starting when it's cold and when it does start it has a very rough idle and often stalls out of you try and press the gas. Once it has warmed up she runs fine. My check engine light is on but I have no way to take her down to a shop to get the codes read. What is wrong with my car? One of my friends told me it could be a cool pack or a sensor.

View 6 RepliesLast couple morning here in Michigan we've seen temps in the low to mid 30's. The last two mornings when I shift between 1, 2 & 3 I'm hearing a clicking noise coming from the clutch when engaging the gear. After a few minutes, once it warms up, the clicking goes away.
I am @ stage 1+ W/VWR intake, but I'm not expecting clutch troubles from that.
I have recently bought a R32 2008, and when trying to turn the AC I don't hear the AC compressor clutch clicking, the fans are running normally (radiator fans ). What should I check ? Someone told me that maybe it's a compressor problem, and another one said that if the refrigerant gas is low the clutch won't be engaged.
View 3 RepliesOn my 13 Elantra since the day I got it almost 2 year's now has always made this click noise when I disengaged the clutch and go, (not the clutch solenoid noise similar) I'll hear the clutch solenoid then almost like my left front brake was slightly sticking it makes a click like the caliper's popping loose!? I've mentioned it the stealership & nothing they tried to tell me the dust shield was touching however the noise came back within minutes I noticed it! It's just one of those annoying sound's that you need to figure out or go crazy, stick model, could it be the clutch fork or bearing releasing just can't figure it out.
View 4 RepliesA while ago, I complained about a clicking/clapping sound when I fiddle around with the clutch. I took my car to the dealer today. I let him hear the problem and he instantly knew the problem. 3 minutes for diagnostic. 1 minute for paper work. 1 hour and 26 minutes of labor. DONE. When I let the mechanic hear the noise he rolled his eyes and said, "All newer Elantra's do this".
I was lucky because the customer before me had the same problem and he/she didn't show up on their time slot. The parts were there already and he brought my car in. He said the problem was a bad axle nut, and needs a new spacer, or something. Some dealers tighten it but he highly recommends getting a new one.
After an hour and a half I was gone.

I have a 1999 SD V10 with about 133K on it. Runs great to the day. Recently I noticed alot of clicking and rough sounding noise coming from the a/c compressor the other day. Yep I got up underneath it and it look like it's about shot.
My question is : How hard is it to replace the clutch yourself with a new one. Are there any step by step direction here on the ford forums on how to do it. Looks like can just replace the a/c clutch and be good to go. A/C still blows cold air.
I took it to my mechanic the other day and they want $ for a replacement compressor and labor. I'd like to try and avoid that amount for now and just replace the clutch.
