I was installing my fk streetlines yesterday and when I was taking the strut out I must of let the knuckle sag to close to the ground. This caused the outer cv boot to stretch and pop out. Do I need an entire new cv boot? Or can I just slide it back on?
View 4 RepliesI'm repainting my peeling shifter trim plate and replacing the shift boot with a new one. Lots of support available on removing the shifter and disassembling the trim plate, but no clear instructions on how to remove the boot from the knob. It looks like this inside:
How do I separate the boot from the knob to install a new boot? The only instructions I found showed a metal collar which is not the case in our cars.
I had KW V2s installed on my R and the shop said they cause the ABS warning to come on so how to code out the alert using VCDS?
View 15 RepliesInstalled coilovers and took it for a drive today/tonight..I turned the headlights on and they adjusted side to side like normal..when they went to adjust up they moved like an inch..making it almost impossible to drive at night..I reset the battery and still the same scenario..is this a setting I have to change or can change thru vag com? Everything worked fine prior to install, and no I did not break anything.
View 7 RepliesI just installed a new pair of PSS10 coilovers on the R today and everything is running great, except a creaking noise I am hearing under extreme turns. If I am going slow, I can whip the wheel all the way to one direction and hear the creaking noise, or if I am going around a longer corner at higher speeds, I hear it as well. I've taken the wheels off and checked, everything is tightened.
Based on the searching, most are complaints of similar sounds but in straight lines. This is only when turning. There are only 20k miles on the car, but that includes 7 weekends of HPD events. So worn/dry bushings or joints was my first thought.
This previous weekend, my buddies and I finally got my FK coilovers installed on my GTI. I have heard that people say there is a little bit of rattling upon them getting properly seated. Well it has been 4 days of driving and now sounds like the rattling has gotten worse! I took it into a local suspension shop and they couldn't put a thumb on it. We in-turn found out that my rear hub bearing was going out and has since been replace. Having issues with coilovers? I have contacted the company that I purchased them through already and am awaiting feedback from them.

So I was searching around online and it seems this thing happens to some ppl after lowering their cars. I'm getting a loud pop/clunk noise from the front left side only. Seems that's the most common place ppl are having this type of issue with. What it could be? My mechanic wont be able to look at it till Friday. So not sure on what to do. The sound only happens when I'm hitting bumps on the road.
View 6 RepliesIs it normal to have this rattle noise that is coming from the CAI which i never noticed before? This only happened after installing a turbo back and car runs fine. It just sounded like marble got sucked in the intake or 2 thick plates banging. I am pretty sure its not the heat shield for the filter also because i tried holding that and looked at that part. Went under the car too but i cant pinpoint where its coming from but maybe inside the engine?

I also got a pronounce rattling at 2000 rpm when I let go of the gas that's located maybe at the bottom passenger side. I am thinking fuel lines?
My 2006 (with conti contacts, still in good shape) seems to behave differently from my 2004 (pirelli scorpions).
When accelerating and turning together (doesn't need to be a sharp turn, can be gradual), occasionally I feel my back seem to "slide" a bit. It's a strange sensation and I can't seem to really place it. It doesn't feel like I'm fishtailing, more like the outer rear wheel in the turn is accelerating a little too fast and pushing my rear end a bit too far too fast.
It only happens for a second and then everything is normal again. I haven't had any troubles with my 2006 beyond this (besides the DVD nav issue). But it does give me a bit of concern, as if the AWD system is a little "off".
I have a 2007 Azera with a sunroof problem. Went to open the sunroof and found out it would not slide back, it would only lift up in the back. Went to close it and it would lower some, but not all the way. It goes to lower but then there is a click in the mechanism and it won't close completely. Tried the manual close to no avail.

View 16 RepliesThe rear of the drivers side front seat in my car has come undone! How that happened, but the top two clips are busted, and it's hanging off the back of the seat, still attached by the bottom two clips. Looks like some plastic snaps on the top have broken.
View 14 RepliesThe strut is lose, I can spin it hardly but I can't get the rotor to go down far enough, already disassembled the control arm but it didn't do much considering I couldn't move it forward or backward so the rotor still sits on a corner or the arm. I did the drivers side already.

View 24 RepliesI installed 2 new axles and replaced the upper motor mounts in my car. Now when I turn to the right the left front tire is running against the coilover and making my car vibrate. I put a 5mm spacer to give it some clearance but it didn't make much of a difference. What could be wrong?
View 2 RepliesSo I just installed brand new coilovers and I quickly noticed a this problem. On the passenger side, when the wheel is lifted, I can feel a little bit of movement from the coilover and it really seems like it is the top bushing that is moving. I can see the metal top plate moving a little also. Everything is we tighten andI did the same thing as the driver's side but only this one does this. When the car is on the ground I can feel there is a bit of play in the wheel if I bang on it with my hand. Also, I know the gap on the top plates is normal, specially when lowered but again the passenger side looks weird and is much higher then the other side. What I'm I missing here ? Both side top bushing and bearing are also brand new.

View 14 RepliesSo I took my tranny off to fix a broken dog bone mount bolt problem. I am now in the process of putting it back on. I raised the tranny bolted all the bolts on had everything almost back together and I went to put my slave cylinder in and the clutch fork won't move so that the slave cylinder can slide in. Did I maybe put the clutch fork in wrong? pretty positive I put it back in as it was and slide the clip through the hole and everything.
