View 2 RepliesI have a 2000 accord and the control panel for the AC/heater keeps flashing on and off. When it is off (no lights lit up) it doesn't respond when you push the buttons and semi warm air comes out when I turn the AC on. Randomly, the lights will come back on and it will again be responsive. It usually happens (going on and off randomly) for the first few minutes of turning the car on, but will then stay on.
View 5 RepliesUnfortunately my car Heater A/C Control Panel LCD is broken, I mean only the screen. I accidentally hit the screen while I was pulling my guitar from the back seat .It shows many black lines that are almost covering the whole LCD!! everything is working fine except nothing can be seen on the screen.
I was told that I must buy the whole panel and it is really costly. I thought maybe I can replace only the screen? Is it possible? Or can I get any other car LCD and fix it into this panel??
The heater/AC control panel does not turn-on automatically after the engine is started occasionally, during this time none of the buttons are working and blank display. The only way I can get it turn back on is re-starting the engine, sometime it takes more than 1 re-start.
I thought the relay ? or the signal driving the relay has something to do with it. Where is the relay for the Heater/AL is located ?
My climate control dial lights have stopped working for some odd reason.. They dont light up anymore.
I checked the fuses, they all seem to be ok (is there even a fuse for these lights?) How do i go about fixing this problem?
I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee with about 240000 miles on the clock. Words cannot describe how impressed I am by this car. However, yesterday I noticed that the selector switch where one chooses to direct the air output has failed me. It seems to be stuck in the windshield defrost setting, unable to redirect the airflow to anywhere else. I am however still able to control the temperature as well as A/C settings. The switch felt strangely 'limp' almost as though it is no longer connected to whatever engineering or witchcraft it is attached to behind the control panel. What are your thoughts on this? Could it be as simple as some mechanical linkage that has snapped off? Just to recap: blower motor, heat and A/C are not affected by this.
View 2 RepliesReplacing a heater control valve for a 2004 Jetta? My car's vents only blow hot, and I checked the cables and saw that the control arm was disconnected. I tried to put the cylinder piece back in and had some luck, but I can't get it to sit tightly in there and it keeps falling out. Also, it still wont change the temperature coming out of the vents. I assume that something broke on the inside piece that the cylinder connected to.

Here is an example of what mine kind of looks like, but mine is way more loose.
Ok, I just started to notice that when Im driving at night, the display for my ac/heater panel almost quickly turns off and then back on. It is fast enough that I thought it was me. Last night I sat and watched it for a few min and it stopped "glowing" for a split second then went back to normal.
View 2 RepliesRecently while trying to start my Yukon, my control panel doesn't come on. After the vehicle warms up and I attempt to shut it down and restart the vehicle several times. It comes back on. Also, the light on the shift selector indicator is out. My gas light for low gas, and the ABS light flashes on and off simultaneously . But this goes away after I get the control panel to start working again. The vehicle is running and sounds fine.
View 1 RepliesMy wife went out and started the Camry today and turned on the A/C which has been working fine. She ran in to grab something and when she came back A/C was off. The control panel doesn't light up at all. I can't find anything listed as an a/C fuse under the dash or hood.
View 6 RepliesThe light behind the temp controls is out on my 99 Passat GLS. First time it went out, I had the dealer replace it. Now, it's out again. The instructions was to pull out the Temp Control Knob and you could see the bulb. I pulled off the Temp Knob on my 99 but did not see a bulb.
Where to find the bulb and how to get to it/replace it (and what bulb this would be).
The 02 bulb responders even said to use a vacuum or a rubber hose to remove. Even if I see a bulb in the center of the Temp Knob housing (which I didn't), I still can't figure out how to pull a bulb out unless I used a needlenose pliers (which will likely break the bulb).
How to remove the window control panel on your door panel on a 2010 prius? I'm not looking to remove the whole door panel I just want to take the little panel that has the 4 window controls off.
View 3 RepliesMy climate control panel switch only works in 4. How do I remove the panel?
View 1 RepliesI just get my new accent hb 2013 on february, and today while driving to my office the whole control panel starts blinking and fading, as well the front lights icon... for almost 10 secs, but then it suddenly disappears. Its less than 2200 km!
View 5 RepliesHad a buzzing on my dual control and temp panel. Buzzing finally stopped, and now I have no control over temp on passenger side. It blow cool air regardless of the temp I put or taking it off of dual. Doesn't matter, it just blows cool air. I can have it set off dual at a high temp, driver side will be hot, passenger side will be cool. What broke?(blend door?)
View 3 RepliesI've had a base model 07 Santa Fe for 4 yrs and I know darned well that the when the car is running, even with headlights off (as in daytime), that the gauges in the instrument panel light up, and the brightness can be controlled by rolling the dimmer switch (reostat) up or down. Now that it isn't working, after dealer replaced something nearby on a recall, they're trying to tell me that the gauges only light up when the parking or headlights are turned on.
View 7 RepliesI just installed a Heater AC Control panel that was broken when things shifted in my truck. Now, air blows, but I get no AC. I'm wondering if something deeper in the dash was broken.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 Excursion and the A/C Control panel has been blank on 2 different occasions. Upon startup the A/C will not respond to any adjustments and is therefore turned off.
Typically if we turn the Excursion off for several hours, the A/C will start working again. Should I be concerned...
Bought my truck (2000 F150, Manual, V6) used with 135k on it. In 3 months I've put 10k more on it and am starting to run into a weird A/C problem.
Driving to one of my clients, everything was working fine. When I left there was no A/C. I checked coolant, fuses, etc with no luck. We had a bit of a cold-snap and I also found out my heater didnt work. Air comes out of the vents, but it's all panel air, regardless of temp or control settings.
Took it to a mechanic who said the high-pressure switch was dirty, he cleaned it and the A/C worked at the shop. The moment I left the exact same problems started happening again. It's been back to the same mechanic, and today he tells me that the a/c clutch is drawing to many amps and shorting it out, at which point the PCM tells it to goto hell. He can get it working by resetting the computer, however, the moment I put it in gear it stops working (a/c, heat, all of it). He was able to put power directly to it and it run with no problems.
To me (very little mechanical knowledge) it seems like power, or the condensor. The mechanic said that the heat going out isn't related at all, which makes no sense to me because it's happened there in his shop where the heat will only work if the a/c works. Hes telling me I need either a new clutch or a new compressor altogether. Quoted me 300 and 1000 for each respectively.
Side-Note: The morning of the day when the a/c initially broke, my car turned off suddenly while driving. I was in gear and driving down the road like normal. I popped the clutch, turned the key and it started right back up. Also, cruise control seems to have stopped working and the eft blinker. If i hold the lever down (like push an extra 2cm) it comes on and works. It is sporadic.
I just bought a 2014.5 Camry SE. I am really loving this car but I have a question. The black shiny climate control panel (manual climate control) seems a little cloudy. I was wondering if this has a protective film from the factory that needs to be peeled off. I cannot tell by looking at it, and don't want to mess with it until I know.
View 1 RepliesI've amassed almost 3700miles in my 14 gs350f thus far and really enjoy the car. One problem I've had for the past 1000miles or so is the drivers door control cluster for the window switches etc., not the black part but the actual panel the buttons are hooked into buzzes and wiggles and up down maby 2mm. I swear, it buzzes like a beehive that's on FIRE when the radio is on. I've been resting my hand on it for a while but enough is enough, how do I get that panel out so I can stick some really thin foam in there to stop it?
