I got an error code today and I was going to ask you who know . What is this? What should I change to solve the problem and where in the engine is the error ? Is it dangerous to drive with this error?
My car is a Golf IV R32 - 2003.
I was driving and my temp gauge said that it was around 260 and then my engine light came on. I scanned it and these 2 codes came up.

I looked the codes up but one said that it was a coolant problem and the other one said that the engine was too cool.
Had the cams installed about a month ago, and haven't had a CEL on in the car since I got it.. has been 100% trouble free.
Drove about 30 mins somewhere tonight with nothing out of the ordinary, and after leaving my friends house about 3 mins down the road the CEL came on.. Car wasn't idling rough, didn't misfire, didn't sound rough at all.. I pulled over and re tightened the gas cap just incase that was the reason (hadn't driven the car in about 3 days) and drove off, made it home with nothing changed. on the way I did a few pulls in all gears, and the car had all its power, no weird sounds from the engine or exhaust.
Got home and scanned, and this is what I got :

I replaced the dash, taking out the stereo and instrument cluster. I also replaced the battery with a new factory one.
Went to start the car and nothing happened, no cranking, the only thing I can hear is a single click from the starter. All the lights are on in the instrument panel.
Windows, sunroof don't work even in AUX power. Fuel pump does not prime
I searched the forums and tried numerous advice, but to no avail.
I checked the fuses, none were blown, checked the relays, all work.
OBDII reader throws out the code U0100 even though check engine light is not on. I dont have VAGCOM or VCDS but should in a few days.
Getting a fuel pressure to low fault code. What could be wrong! 2010 GLI....

This morning, I wanted to drive to work, but all of my coolant was gone. In the last couple of weeks, I had some errors with my speedometer and had it replaced a week ago, which did not fix my problem (the P0722 sometimes still came up).
Could it be that my coolant leaked over the last weeks and somehow messed with my speedometer, or are those most likely independent errors?
My car is a 2000 Jetta VR6 and at this point I don't want to put too much into it any more. If you need more input, let me know.
I bought an 05 golf GL with a 2.0 and 5 speed in January for commuting to work.
Well, recently. I was on my way home from work, I'm an engine tech for Cummins Inc, and I notice my CEL came on and the car stalled multiple times at red lights. So I limped it home, connected my scanner and the fault was "Implausible signal from Mass Air Flow sensor". I cleared the fault code and tried to start the car. Nothing, no crank no start. Just an audible click from under the hood.
I disconnected the battery for 5 min reconnected it and it started fine. Drove it to work the next day, no issues. I tried to start it again and nothing, CEL was on again for the MAF sensor. I pop started it, car ran like hell, rough idle, low power, etc. luckily I have a dualy that I can drive in the mean time.
I have a 2001 King Ranch F150, which has a 2004 Lincoln Navigator 5.4 DOHC Intech engine installed. The engine was installed in 2005 and had less that 100 miles on it. The engine now has approximately 95000 miles and I have recently gotten a P0307 fault-miss fire on # 7 cylinder. I have installed a new spark plug, COP, and fuel injector. The fault has returned. What is the cause of my problem?

View 9 RepliesMy 2003 Camry has po301 fault code also have same code showing as pending. Can't find nothing on google regarding duplicate codes . The car starts fine, runs fine, idles fine. Excellent at high speeds I don't think the car is misfiring . Could it be a bad sensor giving me a false reading .
View 6 RepliesI just bought an 03 Excursion 3 months ago and it has 104,000+ miles on it. I was driving to the lake to do a little night fishing this past Saturday. It ran fine up to me parking the truck to unstrap my boat. I noticed it start to idle rough and thought nothing of it. Started to back the boat down the ramp and got almost all the way to the water and it died. It restarted immediately but died several times trying to make it back up the ramp (with boat still in tow). No service engine light or anything for about an hour or so. Thought maybe I had gotten hold of some bad gas so I put in a bottle of sea foam and gas dry with no change to how it ran. Made it back home and the next day tried starting it again and it still idled rough and would die when put in gear. A friend brought over a code reader and got a P0149 which I've learned is a fuel timing error. Could it be the fuel pump or the solenoid on the fuel pump?
View 11 RepliesI have a 2003 Chevy 1500HD 6.0L 4x4. I've recently started getting the "Reduced Engine Power" light along with the P1516 Fault code. I've checked all the wires going to the TAC Module, TPS, and MAP, all appear to be in good condition. The Throttle Body is clean and the "flapper moves freely with no sticking. I only have this issue when it is warm outside. Recently we've had fairly code days between 32-50 degree weather but on the few days that it has gotten warmer, I've had the issue. Since it seems to only happen when its warm, I believe it to be a moisture issue, but I'm not sure.
View 6 RepliesJust started the truck after not running for a few weeks and drove around fine. Looked down and suddenly a CEL was indicated. Checked it with my Edge Evolution diagnostic mode and Code P0161 came up 2nd bank downstream heater circuit fault. I've also have an exhaust leak in the right passenger side exhaust manifold for about the last year. I've been waiting to install my newer 03' used engine when time and funds permit.
View 3 RepliesAfter running to operating temp, if the car is turned off then restarted (like you would at a gas station, which is where I notice this) the engine will turn and turn and turn but not fire. I have noticed that stomping on the acceleration will cough it into life during this procedure. This doesn't happen every time and I have recently run high octane gas during a long distance trip.

New to diesel trucks and wondered if this recurring code is a serious problem. I clear DTC and truck will run fine. Might stay off for 2 days or 2 months and same code comes back. Truck seems to run just fine even with service light on.

While driving into work today the CEL came on today. The truck has just over 62k on it. When I got home I checked and there 3 codes P0150, P0050, and another P0150. They read P1050, O2 Circuit (bank 2, Sensor 1), and P0050, HO2s Heater Control Circuit (Bank 2, Sensor 1).
I cleared the codes, if they come back I'll give Ford a call I hear that emission stuff is usually covered for 8/80 is that right? What could have caused these codes? Bad O2 sensor? I haven't had a chance to crawl under and take a look. Is bank 2 on the drivers or passenger side?
So I had a P0606 code which points to a PCM/ECU fault. It would come and go and not really cause much of a problem with driving. It did stall once but it started right back up. The light would come on for half a day and go off. Rinse and repeat......
The dealer replaced it today under my extended warranty. Sure enough, the CEL returned today. I haven't had the code read but I can only assume it will be P0606 again.
With all DTCs cleared, this fault code would occur without even shifting out of Park. VW replaced both ECMs, fuel filters and O2 sensors and the car ran fine for the next 1400 miles.
At which point, I decided to get a tune - the car drives great (power gain = ~60hp/90tq. However, I am back to the P0173 fault code exhibiting the same behavior. There are no driveability issues, in fact the new tune seems to be a little smoother than the stock tune. Why this is happening again.
