Installed a set of ultimos about 2 weeks ago. Replaced everything. Control arms, ball joints, mounts, bushings, pinch bolts. And I'm hearing a squeaking noise in the rear. Just started noticing it Saturday after we had a very hard rain.. Could it be from them being wet?
View 4 RepliesThis previous weekend, my buddies and I finally got my FK coilovers installed on my GTI. I have heard that people say there is a little bit of rattling upon them getting properly seated. Well it has been 4 days of driving and now sounds like the rattling has gotten worse! I took it into a local suspension shop and they couldn't put a thumb on it. We in-turn found out that my rear hub bearing was going out and has since been replace. Having issues with coilovers? I have contacted the company that I purchased them through already and am awaiting feedback from them.

I bought some coilover for my mk4 Jetta, and the two front coilover just don't seem write, they are sticking way to much from where they need to be at, and they are hitting my hood..
View 24 RepliesI installed 2 new axles and replaced the upper motor mounts in my car. Now when I turn to the right the left front tire is running against the coilover and making my car vibrate. I put a 5mm spacer to give it some clearance but it didn't make much of a difference. What could be wrong?
View 2 RepliesSo I just installed brand new coilovers and I quickly noticed a this problem. On the passenger side, when the wheel is lifted, I can feel a little bit of movement from the coilover and it really seems like it is the top bushing that is moving. I can see the metal top plate moving a little also. Everything is we tighten andI did the same thing as the driver's side but only this one does this. When the car is on the ground I can feel there is a bit of play in the wheel if I bang on it with my hand. Also, I know the gap on the top plates is normal, specially when lowered but again the passenger side looks weird and is much higher then the other side. What I'm I missing here ? Both side top bushing and bearing are also brand new.

I assume I have to replace the entire shock? I've had them on for about 1.5 years so I'm not too thrilled about the life of the shocks. I'm not sure what the normal life expectancy of coilovers are since my last car had air ride which actually was fine for 6+years.. But I was hoping it'd be more..
Started up my car this morning and drove to the gas station. I had the car on low fuel, got the low fuel light last night but didn't have time to stop by a gas station to fill up. Anyways after I did finally fueled up this morning, I pulled out of the gas station and a very loud squeaking noise which sounds like metal on metal occurred. The noise is coming from the rear, but it's really loud, nothing I have ever heard before.
I will mention that I have Koni coilovers installed, tried to peak under the car and see if something broke or came loose but I was unable to see anything since I am sitting pretty low.
I live in Chicago and this morning was very cold. I am trying to figure out what my issue could be. I called up the dealer and he told me to drive it around for a bit and see if it goes away. Another guess would be that something got stuck between the rotor and the break pad. I have the stock break pads. What could it be?

View 4 RepliesWRD Coilovers on my MK4 GTI. I finished my install this evening, and on my first test drive I noticed a knocking noise in the rear. I believe it is the springs sitting a little loose. The front of the car is sitting a bit lower than the rear, so I believe most of the weight is shifted towards the front, therefore making the springs kinda free float? I jacked her up after the drive and kinda gave the springs a wiggle and they have a tiny bit of play, enough to hear the spring kinda TING against the perch. I suppose I'm going to raise the front a bit to try and distribute the weight more evenly.
View 12 RepliesSo I bought mkv r32 FK streetline coilovers, got them installed and when I went to adjust them myself I ran into an issue. The rear springs are upside down, making the threads on the bottom so I can't even get the flat tool in there without dropping the control arm. The tech working on it told me that is how the kit is designed.

I try turn the small ring counter clockwise and clockwise for the bigger ring as the same way I did for rear right, but it doesn't work on the left side. This is Megan racing coilover. I also used liquid wrench but no luck.
View 3 RepliesSo I finally installed my brand new coils in yesterday. I took it for a test drive and noticed a noise coming from the rear struts. It sounds as if the spring is wobbling around, almost like a clicking sound. When I first installed them I installed them without the rear perch, then when I heard the noise I thought it was because I didn't install the perch so I ended up taking my wheels off and installing the perch back in. No luck. It's still making a clicking sound when I'm driving, constantly. I had my friend push down on the rear of the car several times while I look under it, I don't know what it could be.... I also cut my rear bump stop in half. Could that be the issue? I have about 10 threads left on the rear perch before I max out.. The spring is compressed half way. Once again, These coils are brand new.
View 5 RepliesI noticed a clunking noise in the rear of my car (drivers side more specifically). After doing some investigating, I noticed that the bushing in the rear shock absorber is completely shot. It is practically falling out and this is what is causing my noise. My question is, is it possible to be able to just replace the bushing in the shock? If not, I assume I could just replace the rear shocks without having to get a whole new set of coilovers? Can I replace the rear shocks with a different aftermarket brand or do I have to stick with raceland?

I have some new rotors and pads picked out, but i dont know if i have the Bosch or the Girling rear calipers...
2 days ago I changed my driver side wheel bearing and put in a new cv shaft
The axle nut may have been somewhat over torqued but nothing crazy over the spec.
Everything else is as per spec.
My problem is that every time I turn left slow fast sharp not sharp it's making this good awful noise.
It is not a constant squealing. It's every rotation. On off on off on off. No bearing humming or anything when driving straight or turning right. Just left. I'm pretty good at solving pretty well anything with my gti but this one has me stumped

Noise from the rear heard at low speeds. Worse in reverse. Sounds similar to the post from AMI for the front suspension because it can also be heard pushing car up and down, jacking it up, and rocking back and forth while tightening lug bolts. Installed ST Coils in April. 64,000 miles on my 06 2.0t....
View 8 RepliesI have never seen a car with more electrical problems in my entire life. Everything is wrong with this thing. Driver door controls don't work. The only way to get the driver door to roll down is if i take the positive of my battery and put it back on, boom window rolls up and down for 10 mins and than stops working. It literally seems like if i take the positive off my battery it solves all my issues and everything works. The car wont even start in 15 degree weather. I don't even want to know how long it will take me to start this thing in -30 weather. Its got a very loud knocking noise in the right rear. I Haven't been able to go to school for a week cause the thing is stuck in my driveway.
