I tried putting the bulbs from the side repeaters located on the fender to the sidemarker on the bumper and the bumper sidemarker still does not turn on. I am also getting no voltage readings. Is there a specific fuse I might need to replace?
View 4 RepliesI ordered the bulbs already; I just need to know how you pop out those yellow side markers. Do I have to go under the wheel fender and pop out the cover with the plastic screws or does it just come right off the front of the bumper. Looking for step by step instructions.
View 24 RepliesJust got my R32, used. I noticed that the previous owner had replaced the front side markers with clear ones. I checked that there are no bulbs inside, and they don't light up. Are they suppose to light up?
View 13 RepliesI just got a R32, but its missing the wiring for the side markers as well as the outside temperature sensor. My assumption is that both are in the same wiring harness and that harness starts at the corner of the radiator on the drivers side of the car.

1 week ago $2 tire pressure gauge fell through the slots on the left side of the trunk inside, I have tried to reach it, but to no avail(touched wires, which goes to the rear/stops driver's side several times).
Today I noticed one of my side markers was not working, I turned on lights, tried to change bulb in it and as of now neither marker nor left front light(that small upper bulb in bigger bulb slot) nor rear lights work.
Low and high beam are ok on both sides.
Just bought a 2004 SC to go with our '07. Noticed the fog lights and front side markers are not working. Checked the fuse and it is ok.

View 10 RepliesSo I lowered my car sometime last year and ever since then when i make a right turn above 20mph it caused my car to shake pretty violently. i figured it might have been my Left outer cv joint so I changed the axle, solved my problem temporarily but didn't really make it any better. Recently its gotten way worse and now shakes on any sort of acceleration, and at the slightest turn of the wheel towards the right side. If I left off the gas, put it in neutral, engage the clutch, or turn the wheel to the left it goes away. Could this be the right side inner CV joint or something else? Car shakes under acceleration or right turns, is it my axle?

I also realized that the left side turn indicator (blinker) light is not working and when I popped it out I saw the wires were chewed up, I am not sure what happened. Do you think I need to remove the wheel well liner to try to access that area? What to do?
View 14 RepliesI'm having a weird issue with my passenger side turn signal light. It's more of an annoyance than an actual problem. When I turn on my headlights both yellow turn signal lights also usually turn on but the passenger side one is not turning on anymore. The odd thing is that it still blinks as normal when I engage the turn signal. I replaced the bulb but it did not resolve the issue. I'm thinking it's an electrical short somewhere. It's not the wiring in the headlight housing because I tried an old housing I kept when I replaced my headlights last year and I still had the same issue. What I should check first?

View 22 RepliesI would like to start off by saying I am new to this forum. I bought a 2005 Jetta GLI a couple of months ago and from the first day I noticed that occasionally when I would lock it with the alarm, the right turn signal would stay on. It was not much of a problem as I would just press the lock on the remote again a couple of times to turn it off. Lately it has become more frequent and annoying. I have to wait up to an hour so I can finally turn it off through the remote. I was thinking the relay probably.
View 15 Repliesi got this 24v vr6 that wont turn over. I've been rebuilding the whole exterior and verifying that everything looks intact. Here's what I've done to it so far when it did run:
- replaced snapped serp belt and new tensioner
- had a recently new starter
- apparently the alternator is somewhat new
- new coilpacks for all cylinders and spark plugs cause they really needed it
There is 11.90 v for the battery but if i try to turn it over a few times it feels like the battery is practically dying. I am thinking it may be an issue with the alternator so I even grabbed some jumper cables and it was better but still no start. I don't think its the ignition switch because it actually cranks. my only fear is the wiring harness is in rough shape all the way around the car. Maybe a bad MAF sensor?
My car will turn over but not start. I have thought about it being a bad ignition switch because that is what solved a similar problem on my mk2. My concern is that I don't have any of the other symptoms of a bad ignition switch such as lights going out and things like that. I can either push start my car or if I leave my key in the ignition turned half way on the car will start after sitting for about 15 minutes.
View 1 RepliesI have a '01 Jetta VR6 that wont start. Turn the ignition, all lights/radio work, 12.2 volts at battery 11.4 volts at solenoid and it doesnt even click. Replaced the starter, same thing. Have checked all fuses, everything looks good. Jumper from the solenoid to the battery and the car starts. Thoughts?

They either come on like normal, come on for a second and turn off, or don't turn on at all. I read something about a bad door lock module but it seemed like that was for earlier MK4s. I have an 03 jetta.

View 14 RepliesMy mk4 jetta is causing me a hell of a fuss right now. The rear turn signals and the signals in the fenders are working but the front signals are both out. The signals blink fast as if it's a bulb but both bulbs and all fuses are good. When the hazards are on, they blink normal speed but the front lights are still out.
View 13 RepliesI have an 02 GTI w/ 1.8t and 5spd. I was in the drive through and all of the sudden the ABS, ASR, and seatbelt lights came on and the battery light is randomly blinking. I got home turned the car off and went to restart it and when I turn the key nothing happens. I should also mention I recently have 2 cels for p0171 lean condition and bank 1&3 misfires that developed after I replaced a bad injector. Where do I even start?
