My rear middle seat belt is "locked" -it can't be pulled out or retracted. Is there a way of fixing it /releasing it?
Are the sedan seats(tops) interchangeable- will they work in a wagon? This is my Plan B if I can't get my current belt to work
I have a 3 year old that sits behind my passenger seat and I put the seat all the way front and leaning forward so she doesn't kit the seat (and mess up the back of the seat with her dirty shoes).
The problem is, she then has a habit of kicking the seatbelt that is dangling on the side because it's fun to pull daddy's chain while he's driving. So I pulled the seatbelt over the headrest of the passenger seat to move it out of her way.
Now the seatbelt is tight and I can't get it to release so I can pull it off the headrest. How to release the tension? If not, how do I remove the bottom panels to get at the mounting bolt so I can just unbolt it and take it off?
So I was trying to track down this squeak noise and I removed the drivers side seat belt but now the belt will not retract? It's stuck like this, is there a manual release? Buying another one is not a option right now. And I have to drive the car tomorrow morning.
View 1 RepliesOk so I don't really use the back seats too often but on a carpool ride one of my friends whos riding in the back mentions that the armrest/tray wont come down. Im like WTF so when I get home I realize it really is stuck and im trying to find a way to fix it to no avail. Is there something really simple that I am not seeing or is it really broken?

Purchased with a broken latch assembly the drivers side middle row...promptly replaced for $70. Today, it is broke again, less than a year. I am going to do some more investigating as to HOW this happened TWICE.
Chipped, broken housing on their middle latch assembly? It breaks the black part first, which holds the guts in alignment....once the black part slips down or up to far...the guts do not function.
Is there a way to disable the seat belt beeper in a 10 Jetta SW? I am typically driving a few blocks or less and this drives me nuts. I assume you can disable through the vag-com or does a dealer need to do this?

So first things first I just bought the car and have done quite a bit of googling and troubleshooting and its became frustrating because I am a mechanic so now I've resorted to blogging. The air bag light is on and throwing no codes unless you need a specific obd2 scanner. Also my seat belt warning light does not come on and it does not beep so I'm figuring that someone used that vagcom to turn it off. And then third and finally the ac won't engage and I've checked the common problem 30amp fuse in the engine bay above the battery and nothing. I've read a lot regarding common ac problems so I'm just gonna assume that the ac is not bad.

View 11 RepliesI replaced the rear brakes on my 2003 Jetta 2.0. Reman. Calipers, new pads and rotors.
I bleed the rear right and then the rear left. Have full pressure in the pedal but the disc in grinding at low speeds and when I apply the brakes the rear wheels almost lock up.
Today my driver side seat belt got locked in the retracted position for no reason. I drove the truck to work, no issues with the seat belt, but when I got in to go get some lunch, I went to put the belt on and it moves about 2-3 inches out of the retractor and locks.
The other issue I'm having, is that I can't get the retractor cover off to see if theres something inside locking the belt or if it is going to need to be replaced.
How to get the cover off and if possible, fix the belt without replacing it.
I own a 2000 Jetta GLS TDI 5 speed with 501,000 kms on it. The problem I have is the passenger seat back release handle broke off so there is no way to fold down the seat.
View 4 RepliesI have a '13 GS with the Luxury Package that has the rear seat climate & radio controls. I'm not sure if there is an issue or if the system is locked....Of the rear controls everything related to audio portion works correctly...Now if I try to turn on the heated seats, or change the temperature, or blower speed none of those work as they should.
View 10 RepliesI know the Touareg has a problem with the rear seat belt locking and making it impossible to raise the rear seat after it's folded down. In fact, that happened to me and I'm going to have it fixed next week. Now, however, the front passenger side seat belt is stuck about 2/3 of the way out. Can't pull out more and won't retract.
View 1 RepliesI just got my clazzio seat cover yesterday, spent the whole day installing it. I'm up to the last seat (rear passenger side) where i need to remove the seat belt.
I'm having problem removing the seat belt. Tried with several different tools, including variable speed tool, and even tried turning it to the right in case it has different direction to unbolt, but it just wouldn't turn at all.
I called the dealership, but no luck. So i'm now stucked with all but 1 seat being covered. I went to some shops today, most wouldn't touch it because it's liability issue.
I pinpointed a consistent vibration in the rear L & R pillars! Using a rubber mallet on the tires you can hear the recoil springs vibration s and for me, I hear the back center seat retractor recoil spring vibrating! Going address this with the dealership for updated fixes, or I have to fix this myself. I have taken the rear seat apart and welded reinforcement bracket to stabilize the retractor, but the coil spring vibrates.even w the JBL system turn up I can hear the retractor coil spring vibrating distorting the music!

View 3 RepliesSo my passenger seat belt looks twisted. The little "tongue" on the inside is still pointing towards the pillar but the belt itself is twisted and hard turns it hits the plastic and makes noise. I tried twisting it and running the buckle through it. That didn't do the trick.

View 5 RepliesAbout a week or so ago, my seat belt started making this "creaking" noise whenever it's buckled. All you have to do is move slightly in the seat or hit the smallest of bumps in the road and it creaks. I am delaying bringing it to the dealer because I'm sure they'll say they can't hear it. The passenger belt doesn't make the sound, and it is something that has only recently started happening.
View 10 RepliesI'm not sure if this is an epidemic or not but I thought I remembered seeing some others with this issue: when driving alone, usually in cooler temps, the passenger seatbelt buckle near the console rattles like a mofo. I have seen some reports of people getting it fixed at their dealership, some managed to get it done under warranty with some effort. I'm considering trying to fight the dealership to do it under warranty when I go in for my 30k service, but wondering if it's something I could tackle at home. Hasn't been too bad since the weather warmed up so not even sure I could duplicate the issue for the dealer tech.
