View 7 RepliesIs the side marker suppose to blink when you have your turn signal on with the lights OFF. Mine don't. They only work when the lights are on. Is that normal?
View 1 RepliesThe running lights and marker light on my trailer no longer work when I connect to my 2008, F150 4x2 Supercab, XLT, 4.6 V8 Auto with Tow package. Brake and turn signal work fine. The running lights, all the lights work on the trailer work when I connect to my Chevy so I know the problem is in the F150.
I have confirmed the ground to the 7 pin and 4 flat connector is good so I am thinking it must be a fuse or relay. Which specific fuse or relay should I check or replace?
Late last night as I was puling up to park in front of a dark restaurant, I turned off my headlights so I would not blind the people inside. This is a 2010 Prius III.
When I left and tried to turn them back on, only the drivers side parking light (the small white one above the headlight) and side marker light worked. Passenger side nothing works, however on both sides the high beams do work.
just as the topic states....

View 7 RepliesMercedes benz sl500 2003 ... What relay controls these lights. The lights are good and the bulbs are brand new. My headlights / fog / tail lights and turn signals all work fine. The side marker lights just do not come on. I was told perhaps the relay may be shot, however there are 2 fuse boxes in the engine compartment and they are filled with various relays and fuses. Oh, I have check out all the fuses and they are also good.
View 3 RepliesI installed an aluminum flatbed on m 2004 F250 5.4 and when I was wiring the lights, I accidentally shorted the marker/running lights to ground. The fuse is not blown (17), the dash lights come on. I have checked for power to the other lamps and there is nothing. I am looking for any information that would lead where to look for the cause.
View 10 RepliesMy 2002 B5.5 Variant received some "tough love" in a parking lot recently, with the result that one of the front marker lights (in the fender ahead of the front wheel, on the side) was broken. I see that I can push on the light housing and it'll move in a bit, but how can I remove the cover (the colored plastic bit) entirely to replace it with a new, not-busted one?
View 1 Replieshow to access the bulbs for the rear side marker lights?
View 14 Replies2005 Super Duty 350. Getting ready to get my truck DOT-ed and I noticed the front amber side marker and parking lamps are not working (both in the headlight assembly). There is a fuse called "exterior lamps" that I believe these are on, the fuse is fine and all the rest of the exterior lamps on the truck work fine (all other markers, clearance lights and I.D. lamps on that same all inclusive circuit). Is there a special relay or something else I'm missing for these four front bulbs?
View 1 RepliesMy 2011 F250 has no front or rear running lights working, mirror side marker lights not working and fog lights not working. I have checked all fuses including 30amp trailer light fuse and they are good. The fuses in the passenger kick panel are not getting energized.
I replaced the switch with a friends from same truck and no luck there. The headlights, dash lights and turn signals work fine. Here's the kicker, when I back feed 12V to the yellow/blue wire at front running light it turns them all on, including mirror lights. I've switched out relays in the box under hood and that didn't work.
When I pull the switch on dash to turn on the fog lights the indicator in the switch doesn't work either, they are both listed on the same fuse but as I said, the fuses have continuity across the blades but when I test the socket there is no voltage going to them. I have not connected a trailer to see if those are out yet but will do today.
I have a 2013 UGM GTI. The amber side markers are really starting to bother me. I've looked at ECS Tunings side markers (clear and smoked) but they show them on a white car. Which would look better on a medium gray car like mine?
View 17 RepliesI wanted to find a way to turn off my daytime running lights on my 03 jetta. I found a video that said to tape off the pin in the light switch in the interior of the car.
View 6 RepliesI have an oil pressure warning light on my 03' GTI 1.8t. It started as a sporadic issue, it would beep and flash for about 1-2 minutes than go away for about 20 minutes and return and repeat. I drove 130 miles on it due to an important meeting for work.
-I than changed the oil pressure sensor ( i found the old sensor housing full of oil ) and than the light stayed on after the car warmed up.
-I changed the oil pump with an OEM unit. Also changed the oil pick up- Issue still exists.
The light only comes on after 2-5 minutes of the car running. So I'm wondering if the oil is heating up and becoming less viscous than not allowing the pump to pump it as well or the sensor not picking it up.
I have oil and am not leaking it. I'm confused on what it could now be. I'm having it towed to my buddy's shop for him to take a gander when he gets a chance.I'm wondering if the cluster itself is bad.
As I was loading a bag into the back of my GTI, I noticed water running down the drivers side. It seems to be coming out of where the driver's side back seat belt holder is. It's leaking down into the little compartment as well. Don't know the extent of the damage yet as I haven't had any time to look, The interior ceiling of the car is dry. Leaking into the side compartment as well...
View 3 RepliesWhen I open the driver's door, the car does not register that the door is open: the dome light and other interior lights don't come on, the red alert light inside the door itself doesn't come on, and sometimes my alarm will go off when I start the car because it does not know that the door has been activated properly. When the passenger door is open, all the lights function properly. I'm thinking this is a fuse? Hopefully a simple fix?
View 12 RepliesMore electrical gremlins. The car is a 2000 1.8t, it has had some running issues since I got it a few weeks ago. I replaced the ECM (had water damage), fuel pump relay and battery and it was running fine all week, my wife went to start it after work and it died when she took the e-brake off. I went to her work to get her and noticed the rear marker light was on when the car was running. Got the car home and now it wont run for more than about a minute and the light comes in when the fuel pump is running, turn the key but don't start the car and the pump and light come on for a second and go out. Start the car and the light stays in until the car dies.
Is there anywhere in the system these two circuits are connected? Do they share a load relay anywhere?
Two months ago I walked out to my car as it was remote started and realized the driver side headlight was out. With a quick tap to the lens it was fixed with no further problems to date. As of yesterday my passenger side headlight and side marker went out. The first thing I tried was the tap method which only brought the sidemarker back to life. Could it be the bulb or a worse problem. I am not sure if its just the bulb seeing that the side marker is going off and on.
View 2 RepliesI'm on my way out and someone on the road just told me that my brake lights are both out. My rear running lights do work. Is this a fuse problem? What is the number where this fuse is located?
View 1 RepliesI added LED lights to illuminate the running boards on my Lariat. Did this about 15 months ago and all was fine until this week and I noticed they weren't coming on any longer. Both sides are out of commission. The running board lights on each side are wired to the respective plug for the running board lights on each side. The interior lights that are on the same circuit work fine (fuse #12 in the passenger side fuse box).
So I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why both sides have gone out at the same time but the fuse is ok. It's winter here and my truck doesn't completely in the garage so I'm hoping to limit my time lying under the truck out in the cold, on a wet floor! I thought there might be another fuse in the engine compartment fuse box but there isn't, at least according to the manual.
