Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Bypass Heater Core On The Fly

My commute into the office was more difficult than usual because of the fumes pouring out of the vents. I have a 1997 F-150 5.4 V8. should I remove both in and out hoses from the firewall and connect them with a plastic fitting not to risk breaking the aluminum fittings on the motor?(There is an advanced a mile away) OR is it possible for me to remove the in hose from the firewall and remove the out hose from the motor, and run the in hose directly into the motor. Are the fittings the same and can I do that with limited time and tools?

My car had the smell of antifreeze coming from the vents, but it goes away when I use the "recirculating" button. Do u think it's the heater core? I hope not though. Also how much is the coolant suppose to be filled up too? Mine filled up a lot more then half the reservoir.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2003 1.8t / Random Overheating Caused By Bad Heater Core?

I have a 2003 1.8t Jetta and I noticed my heater core is going bad (Common issue) so I smell G12 when I turn on my heat. But randomly and out of no where my car will start to over heat just a little. Never goes into the red though. Farthest it has ever been was about to the second mark past 190. It goes back down eventually and when I pop my hood it bubbles in the reserve a little and it does not do it again for about a few weeks or so. Could this be because of the heater core or might be a thermostat or bad coolant temp sensor?

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 1999 - How To Bypass Alarm Cutting Power To The Starter

1999.5 MK4 Jetta...

So I mentioned in a previous post that my dome light grounded out and melted the wiring down the A-pillar and into the larger harness. I cut the wire out and strangely am no longer burning up fuse #14 (interior lights, power windows, etc.) but continue to burn fuse #6 (central locking system). Probably the wires melted to the door wires and are grounding out.

Obviously I have to do a bigger fix to get everything re-wired (or just a whole new harness). But really, it's just the alarm that is keeping the car from being mobile, as the alarm is somehow cutting power to the starter (this happened to me before when fuse #14 blew - replace the fuse and boom, you have power to your starter again).

I have searched other forum posts fairly exhaustively with no luck - how to bypass the alarm cutting power to the starter? I know there is a fairly easy way to jump the alarm module connection on the MK3s, but can't figure it out on the same module on the MK4s. Again this is pre-immobilizer.

Just yesterday she told me my heater core went out again the only way she knows this is its the 4th time in just over a year. What would cause a heater core to go out so many times in a short period? What should I have my wife do? I do not want to get rid of my truck and I wont be back for another few months.

2005 Ford E Series heater core is "always on"?

That is, coolant always circulate through the core, there is no "valve" that turns it on or off.

The next day I found have air gurgling inside the heater core. Look like have a small leak but I check all the engine, host and radiator no leaks. The last think to think is heater core and heater core host. How can I check both parts? If they leak. How hard to change? Can I DIY?

Chrysler - Ptcruiser :: 2006 - 5th Heater Core In A Year - Cause?

We have a 2006 PT Cruiser. Within a year the Dodge dealer has replaced the heater core five times. They say it's a defective part each time, but I'm not so sure. Usually the core gets a leak after the car has been driven, then parked for a few minutes. When we restart it the heater core blows sending antifreeze vapor out the heater vents.

Says something about an airbag fault when you turn on the key. Would this prevent startup? what can I do?
