Lowered my car yesterday. 23" FTG. I'm now hearing a clicking noise from my drivers side front wheel.. I mostly hear it when my foot is off the gas and I'm just coasting (usually at slower speed). Also, it gets louder (worse) and is accompanied by what sounds like a rubbing when I take turns.. Is it axle bind? Or should I be concerned?
View 1 RepliesTruck has 1800kms on her, pretty much brand new but there is an odd clicking noise on the front drivers side wheel when I adjust the steering from left to right and vice versa. Its quiet if I am going straight, but it sounds like there is a linkage loose. Its not too loud or noisy, but having problems with tierods/knuckle assy?

View 2 RepliesI've got a 2008 santa fe limited 3.3 awd with about 170000 km on it. Lately when I brake I've been hearing a clicking noise coming from what sounds like the driver side front wheel area.
Had it in to my mechanic who checked the brakes and said that pads/calipers/rotors were all fine. They replaced the passenger side front bearing on the lower control arm a few weeks ago and said there is no play or noise coming from any other suspension components.
Where to look next? My mechanic isn't sure what it is so I was going to take it to the dealer and see if they can fix it. Also had new tires installed about a month ago
I have an issue that I have yet to figure out. While the car is in motion there is a rumble from what sounds like the front driver side. I've replaced the wheel bearing and CV axle already. The noise seems to have gotten better but its still there. The noise will worsen when turning left and pretty much disappear when turning right.
View 2 RepliesI recently replaced my wheel studs on my 2000 nissan xterra (front drives side). In the process I had to take apart my wheel assembly and put it all back together. Now that all the pieces are back together I took the car for a test drive. When I put it into 4 wheel drive 2 to 4 clicks with every rotation of the wheel. I also noticed buzzing noise while driving in 2 wheel drive. while quiet it sounded like the noise you would get as a child putting a baseball card in your bicycle wheel spokes. The noise is coming from the wheel that I just did work on and I cant figure out what is causing it.
View 4 RepliesOver the last few days I've noticed a clicking noise coming from the front driver wheel. This clicking has been getting louder, everything seems in check, no crazy vibrations, or vering side to side and all lugs are tight. The clicking stops when the break is applied, could this be break pad warning chippers? I have yet had time to take wheel off and look.
View 6 RepliesMy front right wheel began clicking a few weeks ago. It clicks under these circumstances...
- Usually when the car first starts rolling from a long stop. Usually stops after driving for a bit but does come back sometimes
- from 5-50mph (stops at high speeds)
- cornering does not seem to change the clicking. If anything it stops it rather than makes it worse
- clicking is in rhythm with wheel speed
- noise stops when brakes are applied
I'm thinking it's either a cv joint or I just replaced my brakes maybe it's the brake clip came out and is hitting the inside of the rotor?
I'm getting this clicking noise in the front drivers side of my car... it sounds like its related to the wheel because it's clicking in a rotation pattern, i.e. it slows down as I slow down, etc. The clicking noise dulls/goes away whenever I brake. Not sure if that means it's related to the brakes...or if it's something else.

I had an independent mechanic test drive it, who said the wheel bearing needs replacement. Should I have it checked out by a Toyota dealer? They're so much more expensive, but are is it worth taking it to them?
View 15 RepliesSo on my girlfriends 2000 echo I get the classic bad wheel bearing noise/vibration on the front left (driver side) wheel. Worsens under load (right turn) and goes away when unloaded (left turn). I've replaced left side bearing, CV axle, brake rotors/pads and the noise still persists. My next thought is maybe the ball joint but humming/vibration tells me something out of rotational balance. Bearing in the transmission? I don't know. I'm stuck.

View 3 RepliesMy 2002 Ford Taurus has 73,000 miles and was in good shape except for a small leak under driver's side. Has a new rack and pinion replaced one week ago. Have now noticed small leakage again. Also, when the steering wheel is turned it makes a clicking sound...almost like winding a clock. Rack and pinion replaced and alignment done. Why would it begin leaking again. This is a very comfortable car and has been maintained.
View 4 RepliesSo I have this clicking noise driving me crazy. I just spent the past hour tightening every bolt of the subframe, the front and rear swaybar endlinks, the strut tower bolts, and every other bolt I could see that looked like it could make noise. I also verified that the exhaust wasn't hitting anything. I've had ST coilovers on for the past 17000 miles, so I'm almost positive it has nothing to do with these. I also have the BSH torque arm insert and re-torqued that bolt also.
I'm pretty sure the noise has been there for a while, but I thought it was just rocks kicking up. It has seemed to get louder lately though. Like I said I've looked over everything and the noise is still there. It seems to be from the driver side, but it could just be because I sit there. I can reproduce it when going forward, but not reverse (I don't think anyway). And it is more prevalent at low speed...and going over low speed bumps it makes the noise also.
I've been having a problem with a popping/clicking sound coming from my front end for some time now. 2 days ago I replaced the top strut mounts thinking they were worn and this was the source of my problem, however, the noise persists.I have raised the car and have tried to physically move the wheels, up, down, left, right, but I get no play in any direction.
When the sound happens: If I go over small bumps in the road, or depressions, or speed bumps at slow speed I hear what sounds like a metal on metal sound, but muffled, not a clang, but a pop sound. I can induce it by stepping hard on the brakes, as the car lurches forward I get the sound. After stopping, when the weight moves back again I get the sound again.HOWEVER, I do NOT get the sound from acceleration. I have tried putting on the parking break and trying to take off, but I don't get the sound. The sound is their wether or not I'm in gear.
What could this sound be? My possibilities include:T ie-Rods, Axles, Transmission (loose bolts), broken engine mounts, loose subframe, or perhaps my control arm bushings (but they were replaced with poly bushings about 30k miles ago)
I own a 08 VW R32 and having some issues with my car. When I start to drive it I hear this clicking noise coming from the wheel on the right side. What could cause this. Also the other problem I am having is when I push on the gas pedal I am getting this strange hollow noise sort of like to much air is going in to the intake. When I let the foot off the gas it stops but once i push the gas pedal again I am getting that noise again. i can also hear it when I am driving. VW is telling i need a new transmission. how is that possible. i only have 25,000 miles on my car. BTW what does aftermarket coilovers have to do with tranny.

View 6 RepliesIts a fairly quiet clicking noise. Not constant and starts randomly. I can really hear it when i am in the fast lane next to a barrier or crub? I recently started autoxing. So maybe i beat up something - what it would be though. I checked all my fender liners and splash guard. Everything looks good, but this noise is driving me nuts.
View 4 RepliesOver the course of the past week or so, I've been getting an odd noise from the rear driver side of the vehicle. It's kind of a metallic clicking sound, but the clicks are rather erratic. As I accelerate, the duration between clicks decreases. It's not a "click.. click... click..." noise either. More like, "click click... click... click click click... click click..." If that makes any sense at all. I'm thinking that my wheel bearing is going out, but I don't know for certain. What I might be looking at?
View 12 RepliesI started to notice a slight vibration coming from my front end on the drivers side last week and now is pretty loud. It increases with acceleration, fades slightly when turning left, and goes away almost entirely when turning right. Tie rods seem fine. The inner and outer cv boots are torn but have been that way for some time.
View 4 RepliesRecently my car has had a hollow clunking noise and it seems to be coming from the drivers front side. It doesn't really make the noise if I hit a pothole or something in the road. It does it when I'm driving down a bumpy road or sometimes even a smooth road. I thought it was my top strut mounts and bearings. I replaced them and the noise went away for about 2 weeks but it seems to be back. I was thinking maybe sway bar bushings? Could my new parts I just installed be bad already?
