I have a 5-speed and my center shifter console is completely broken. I went to the junk yard and didn't find any manuals but plenty of autos. Is an auto console the same? It looks like the only difference is the boot/selector area.

View 3 RepliesIt's been going on for awhile now...shifter hangs up to one side or the other instead of self recentering when put in neutral. I have checked the interior and there is no dirt of grime on the white nylon ball that the shifter floats on and it was also lube with some white lithium spray (liquid wrench). Checked under the hood. All connections are good and solid and free from any obstructions. Trans fluid was changed 10k miles ago. Not sure what else to check.
View 3 RepliesCompletely stock, no swap. No motor noise when I click the buttons on forward, back, up or down. Nothing. Everything looks connected under the seat but not entirely sure. Fuse 1 and 44 are good on the side of the dash. This is for a 2003 Wagon with GLX interior and most upgrades from the factory. I need to move the seat in order to remove the center console/radio cage as it's blocking the armrest nut.

View 10 RepliesSince I purchased my 2010 Prius about a week ago the center console top never slid completely forward. It slides to about where the cup holder insert is and stops. I've taken the cup holder out and it still stops in the same spot.
View 19 RepliesOne of the brackets that connects the tray inside the center console is broken. I wanted to order the part but I only see the inside tray available to buy, not the brackets. I was wondering if I ordered the tray, will the brackets come with it? I don't want to order the tray and then it turns out no brackets, then I'll be stuck with an extra tray. The closest part number I see on Sewell is Part # 58801E.
View 2 RepliesThe radio trim/bezels around the center console and down to the shifter tend to be noisy when its hot outside and the car driven over rough roads. How to insulate these radio bezels with felt or some kind of insulation so the noise is dampened? I think any rough road tends to make them creak and the hooks tend to rub against the plastic..

There is no mention of it in the Owners Manual. Every other bulb is referenced. Should I junk it or replace the bulb?
I drive a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The car has had some electrical problems going back about a year and a few months that I have neglected to fix. The first problem was with the shifter not being able to move out of park without hitting the button inside the center console to do a shift lock override, which started last August.
The second problem was with the ignition not being able to release the key without hitting a switch inside the ignition, which started back in the Spring. I have just been rolling along promising to eventually address those, but yesterday the car radio stopped functioning. Then this morning the car would not start.
The electrical system comes on just fine (save the radio), but when I go to start it the car just clicks over. I did not leave any lights or switches on, so I am assuming it must be some sort of problem with the electrical system.
It appears the spring that keeps pressure on the handle has broken, now the console lid won't stay latched.

It been a few days since I heard this extrange noise behind my center console, its very hard to describe, I though it was the CD exchanger of my radio unit but its not, sound similar. Has this ever happened to you before?
View 3 RepliesMy R is an earlier model with the Aux-in in the glovebox. I cannot think of a more inconvenient place to put an aux in cable which is why they change it I am sure. I would like to reroute the existing one or at least add an extender cable from the glove box to one of the unused buttons near the ash tray.

View 2 RepliesAbout a week ago I noticed this weird noise that sounds like it's coming from inside of the center vents area/console.
The noise definitely only occurs when moving, or at least it seems that way. At idle there is no sound. The sound seems to get a little louder the faster I go.
It's kind of a "whirring" sound. It's not really loud and if someone that had never been in the car were driving they probably wouldn't even notice it. It almost sounds as if I have the heating/ac fan turned up high but I don't. The sound appears even if I have the heat/ac fan off.The heat/ac works fine.
It may have nothing to do with the heat/ac but I'm wondering if something could have got stuck in the vents from outside?
I just started observing this today. The center console cover often refuses to rise up when depressed to unlock . If I try about 10 - 20 times, while using the other hand to facilitate swinging around the hinge, it eventually co-operates. I removed the MDI connector to be sure it wasn't causing the issue
View 1 RepliesTheres a loud rattling noise coming from somewhere inside the center console, where the shift lever is, that's annoying as hell! Sounds like a metal ball bearing bouncing around against other metal pieces. I put my fingers down there and touched everything I could to try to stop the rattling but I couldn't. I did not remove the foam insulation.
