Any VCDS instructions to reset?

View 2 RepliesI have changed the batteries in the remote for my MY 2000 Jetta MKIV VR6. Now the remote is not working. A search suggests I need to program the remote using a specific procedure. Alas, I have found various procedures, and so far none has worked.
First of all, I have two keys, Both were functional. One still is.
What I tried:
-Put key with fob in ignition and turn key to accessory mode position.
-Wait 5 seconds
-Hold lock button on 5 down for 10 seconds.
-Turn ignition off and remove key.
-Close doors on car and trey to lock/unlock - not working!
I'm sure I can find a few more suggested methods, but what's the proper method?
About 2 or so weeks ago, I picked up an .:R for a STEAL! I don't have all that much to complain about (because let's face it, it's an R32 ...) but I have noticed a few issues with it that I am hoping are related.
During one car ride I needed to charge my phone, but unfortunately the 12v port doesn't work (I checked all of the side panel fuses and even changed the whole jack, nothing). Another issue that I noticed, was that the passenger door lock intermittently works... sometimes it will work, and other times I have to unlock the door by opening it from the inside. On those freak occasions when it does work, than the driver's door lock won't work... That being irritating in itself, tonight I went to pop the hatch, and it wouldn't unlock! I had to put the key in to open it... that was the first time that I had encountered this issue...
My question is, could all of these issues be related somehow? I highly doubt that all of the lock modules are faulty. The PO did have a record about having the issue checked by the dealership, but they couldn't recreate it.
I was check fuses looking to see if taillight bulb was bad. I pulled out a few while the car was running, then there was a beep, and airbag light came on. Tailight fuse was ok, just had a bad bulb. Put in new bulb, everything works fine but airbag light stays on. All fuses are good.
View 3 RepliesMy jetta. It is a 2001 2.0. I was wondering how to get the car to "Beep" after you lock the car. The car has never done it since I bought it...The trunk is closed so i know that is not the reason....what are some other reasons that would cause me to lose that friendly beep?
View 7 RepliesI've got keyless entry on my phaeton 2008. Came up with a warning saying "change key battery" a few months ago. So I changed the key battery with a new one I had lying around. the warning stayed.
I thought it might be an old battery so I bought another brand new one and still the same warning. Thought I'd wait it out thinking it will soon disappear with a new fob battery but it hasn't and is starting to annoy me now.
Other than the warning, the fob works fine, has a good range, and keyless entry works fine. Its just the annoying beep and warning message left.
I have searched up and down and i can only see people complaining about the reverse of my situation.
Is the Horn and the Alarm beep the same unit? Maybe a fuse?
My 2003 vw golf gti mark 4. So first things first I just bought the car and have done quite a bit of googling and troubleshooting and its became frustrating because I am a mechanic so now I've resorted to blogging. The air bag light is on and throwing no codes unless you need a specific obd2 scanner. Also my seat belt warning light does not come on and it does not beep so I'm figuring that someone used that vagcom to turn it off. And then third and finally the ac won't engage and I've checked the common problem 30amp fuse in the engine bay above the battery and nothing. I've read a lot regarding common ac problems so I'm just gonna assume that the ac is not bad.
View 8 RepliesSo I recently bought a Ross-Tech cable and have been doing some coding and was a little disappointed when I wasn't able to change the diff lock settings. After exploring a little more I came across Byte 1 bit 6 in CAN Gateway [32] Differential Locking. I tried checking it and then going back to adjust the diff lock settings but still no dice .
My vehicle is 2010 Golf TDI 5 door.
I have a 2000 VW Jetta GL. A few weeks ago I noticed my charging light come on followed by abs and airbag lights. Which would mean that the alternator is not charging the battery. However I kept on driving and this light would go off. However when I hit a bump on the road this light goes off meaning that the battery is being charged by the alternator. I recently installed a sound system in the vehicle which worked without problems for a few weeks before I started having this problem. Since then I have changed the alternator, battery and taken out the sound system. I now have a 125 amp alternator instead of a 90 amp alternator. The charge light doesn't come on anymore after startup but the abs, airbag and emergency brake light with a beep is now occurring.
View 3 RepliesSo I have an 05 MK4 GLI, my alarm has not worked since the day I got it. Hold the alarm button on the fob, no luck. when I lock or unlock the car, the lights don't flash and the horn doesn't beep. My ex had an 03 GLS 2.0, alarm/lock/unlock worked without a problem, so why mine doesn't work.
View 7 RepliesEvery time I start my Golf there is a beep, the EPC light and ABS light come on and stay on, and the brake warning light starts flashing and continues to flash.
I have had the fault codes read and it came up with the following:
0414 Control unit improperly coded Faulty
0606 Yaw rate sensor Circuit defective.
What these faults actually mean and what might cause them? I'm quite keen to resolve the issue as anything brakes related makes me nervous, plus I do drive the car hard and use the 4Motion system, which I believe utilises the ABS system?
Probably worth mentioning that the car is fitted with a Series 1 Blue Haldex controller, in case that makes any difference?
Every time I speed up or slow down my ABS, TC and parking brake lights turn on and my car beeps at me. I'm assuming that I have a wheel speed sensor going out. But when I check the codes there is nothing and the check engine light never turns on, so how do you tell which one to replace? Or is my problem something different? I drive a 1999.5 vr6 Jetta.

Neuspeed chipped (yeah, bring the insults, car came with it, peaks 24psi so neener-neener!)
Other than that it's mechanically stock.
Last time I had the oil changed, I drove roughly 30 miles to work the following day. When I went to leave work the car beeped a few times, no lights went off. I pulled over and checked oil, it was a half quart low. Topped it off and didn't have a problem after.
Yesterday I had the oil changed, drove to work today and as I left I got that same beep. This time it looks like it's not low on oil. No lights went off, I pondered for a few minutes and took the streets home. No following light or signs of trouble.
What could be happening? My oil pressure sensor is relatively new, replaced it last year and I checked the connection today. I searched around but keep coming across common oil pressure threads. I'm planning to get an oil pressure gauge, guess I'll get one sooner than later for peace of mind.
My car was running fine and it was due for a new oil change so I decided to do it myself. I changed the oil and oil filter and I started my car after I did this and it ran fine. I shut my car off and a few minutes later when I went to start it again, it cranked over and was sputtering. I tried again and now it won't even sputter. It will just turn over. Also the car is a 03 vw gti vr6 with 126xxx miles on it.
View 24 RepliesI would like to add lock unlock beep to my prius and finding the control wires for open and close? In addition the method (positive , negative trigger).
View 6 RepliesI went to an independent repair shop to try and have my rain sensor and window up and down by remote(vag) he got the vag tricks to work but the alarm wouldn't respond.
He sent me to the dealer to reset everything they reset things but the alarm still doesn't beep when you turn it on. of course the dealer reset all the vag tricks. I also checked the ATA on the mfi but nothing ...
My car is ''remap'' from 1.4 to 1.8 golf iv.. I think that immobilizer don't work, can I change speedometer from 1.8 gti without make encode the new one? Only to take the new speedometer and fit it on my car.. Also how can I understand if my immobilizer works? I have vag com...
View 2 RepliesI am having a problem with one door lock on my Golf. The problem is with the left rear door. There are no issues unlocking it using either the fob or the driver door button. It also locks using the driver door. However, it does not lock using the fob.
View 3 RepliesHaving a little issue w/ the wife's hatch lock mechanism as seen in the video below. The black lock arm isn't the culprit as in some other videos I've seen.
View 3 RepliesI tightened the bolt behind the black cap, however, I got a piece in return. Does this have to do with the lock cylinder sliding out on its own?
