I have a 2006 Jetta and can not open my 2 back doors either from inside or out. You can hear the electronic locks lock/unlock, but doors will not open. Took it to the dealer and they said " Testing found FRONT door latches have an internal open circuit malfunction. They want to replace switches.

I've been sleeping in my excursion alot and have been enjoying it, i find exiting out the back doors is much easier but i have no way to open them from a shut position. I do see a cover of a small slotted whole and think it might be part to future customizing but haven't found such a mod. So how I can open my back doors from the inside?
View 9 RepliesSo I noticed my door wouldn't open from the outside when my friend was trying to get in the backseat. It opened from the inside, and like an idiot I turned the child safety lock. So now the door will not open from the inside or the outside.
Is there any possible way I can get to the cable to get the door open from the interior or exterior?? Can I take the door panel off without the door being open?? It's a 2003 Jetta GLS 1.8t...
Basically what the title says, my brothers 2002 accent front doors won't open from the inside when you pull on the handle, no matter how many times, both sides before it was just the rear doors doing this, and I can't seem to find the child safety switch, but now the same thing is happening on the front doors, and since everything is electric this is pretty bad if the electrical system dies and you have to get out of the car, what the heck is going on?
View 14 RepliesI have just purchased a 2009 Ford Crown Vic Interceptor a few weeks ago. One of the few things I would like to fix is the rear doors. I want to have people in the back have the ability to roll down their own windows and open their own doors. I have plugged the wires, that were in the armrest back into the button but still doesn't work. I am assuming the fuse might also be missing from the fuse box but I have not looked yet and when looking through the owners manual I could figure out which fuse it would have been or its place.
The other issue with the doors is people getting out on their own rather than me feeling like their limo driver or something... Iss there a kit I can buy to get the doors in full working order? If I take it into a ford dealership will/can they fix it?
When you pull the handle on the door it doesn't latch on to anything to open the door, whats wrong?
View 6 RepliesI just bought a (new to me) 2007 RX 350. Love the car. The only problem is that the previous owner had kids and he let them do whatever they wanted inside the car. I got the car detailed and cleaned but I noticed that the centre console doors towards the back don't open and close. When I press the open button it opens ever so slightly and when I press close I can feel that the spring is trying to close the door but nothing happens.
View 13 RepliesI have a 1997 Astro van and recently I shut the back doors (two door version) and now they will not open/unlock. I tried the power locks as well as the key. I read where you can take off the speaker cover in the door and reach thru and unlock/release from there. That did not work either. Not sure WHY Chevy decided not to put interior release handles. Any trick to opening the doors so I can see what the problem is?
View 17 RepliesI rarely drive with anyone else in my 2004 Prius. This week we've had out-of-town guests, with two people in the back seat. When the doors are locked, the front seat passenger can pull on the handle to open the door, but the back seat passengers can't open their doors with the handle until someone in one of the front seats pushes the door unlock button. The child safety locks are not set. I keep getting out of my car and forgetting to push the button to let the back seat passengers open their doors. Is there anything I can do to change this rear door behavior?
View 2 RepliesA while ago both back doors on my 01 crew cab stopped working. The outside handles jiggle loose but the inside ones feel like normal. They both went at about the same time. If it's those little black boxes that mount by the handle on the door, how do I even get to it to change it if it's stuck shut? I can't reach my hand in there either to even try to see what's wrong with it. How to get it open?

I have never previously in life wanted a vehicle with electric assisted windows and doors for this reason - remember when those were expensive foo-foo options on a vehicle?
Anyway the back passenger door window has not worked for a couple years now. Not too big a deal.
A month ago the back passenger door could no longer be opened from either side. Not too good and I couldn't see much of a way to ever fix it.
This morning the back driver side door won't open from either side. The lock only half-heartedly wants to unlock via the powered system though it can be fully pulled up manually (not as possible on the passenger side rear).
Next up will be the front doors...
The fob we use most often will not open the doors or trunk, although it will work when I use it in the ignition. The battery is ok. VW Passat 2006 ...
View 2 RepliesI was washing my car today and noticed that the trim pieces inside of the front doors are missing. The drivers door has a screw in it and the passenger door has a little plastic bumper and it just falls out if you touch it. I don't remember this piece ever being there before and there is no screw on this door right now. The pieces that I am talking about next extend along the door edge to finish it off. I remember these pieces because when I washed my car and wiped the door edges for the first time I recalled my MKV GTI not having this piece. My car was at a local shop for a couple of days and I think someone came in to visit and took these. The shop is very loosie goosie about letting their friends walk around the shop floor.
I was wondering if someone could shoot a pic of their door edges for me. I am going to order this part on Monday.
Is there a way to tighten, or adjust the rear doors to stay open? Mine close by themselves on even a slight incline.
View 2 RepliesI have a mk6 golf tsi (highline/gt). While cleaning it I found out that if you sit in the car and use the key to lock it there's no other way to get out other than using the key. What if someone gets locked inside in a hot day? I for example am claustrophobic. In my other car (2004 e class) you can open the door even if the car is locked. I have the multifunction display can I fix it from there?

THe dome lights come on normally but the footwell lighting of all seats (passenger and the 2 rear) doesn't come on. Is this normal for a 2006 GS300? or is there a way to program it to come on?
View 7 RepliesI have a problem, the passenger front door won't open from inside or out, neither handle on the inside or out works.
The lock goes up and down and the handles move but you can feel that they are not connected to anything. I took it to two mechanics and they shrugged.
If I can't open the door, I can't take the panels off and look inside the door. What I can do? I hate to destroy my door panel.
Just picked up my MK7 GTI.. It's a Manual SE and has Keyless entry.
Any way to make the keyless entry open all doors when initiated?
