View 10 RepliesI have a a 02 jetta 1.8 turbo the code po343 came up after new temp sensor, valve cover gasket and full tune up. is it an easy fix the car is misfiring an very hard starting.
View 1 RepliesWhere is this located? This is the sensor that reads the outside air temp for inside display. Looked between radiator and bumper cover pretty thoroughly.
View 4 RepliesSo I'm at a momentary loss for what's wrong. My wife's '02 Passat GLX is not getting a signal from the outdoor ambient temp sensor. Both her cluster and climate control display show "--" and I've replaced the sensor, cleaned the connector and done a brief outside inspection of the wiring from their to the engine bay harness which all looks fine... In the cars defense, were the second owners, it's been dealer maintained and is in immaculate condition so there is no oil soaked or ghetto hacked wiring, period..
View 3 RepliesThe ambient (outside) temperature sensor on my 04 jeep grand cherokee is now stuck in the open position (it reads -40 constantly) after having body work done to it. Could this be a fuse, loose wires, or is the senor broken? Also could this have been damaged by the body shop?
View 8 RepliesI have noticed my trans temp gauge needle is dead center of the gauge even on a cold start. I thought my sensor was under the pan so I pulled it and did not see any sensor at all. Is there a external sensor?
View 5 RepliesI have the 2012 XL F-250 6.2 v8 , I have an ambient (outside air) temperature sensor that needs replacing, I ordered it and was told it is located in the passenger side mirror from the parts guy, there is a tap in the bottom of the mirror to access it, looking for a replacement type video link of how to do this, as I am not finding one via youtube, pulling the tab off on the bottom of the mirror I am not really seeing the part I have as a replacement in the mirror.. This is the XL version/work truck so ALL manual mirrors....
View 1 RepliesI'm excited to be a Powerstroke owner again! I had a 2000 with the 7.3L and since bought and now sold a Chevy 1500. Last week I bought a new 2015 6.7L. I am MORE than impressed and love the truck. Today I brought it to get the windows tinted. I have not had one issue with the truck since I have had it. When they finished with the windows, my check engine light was on. The shop I had it done it EXTREMELY reputable. They brought out their snap on scanner and pulled the code. p0073 for the ambient air temp sensor circuit high. Is this a coincidence that this came on after they got done, or could something they did while tinting the windows tripped this?
As I drove off down the road after determining I wasn't going to hurt the truck, the air temp sensor went from showing -40 to the actual temperature. What would cause this? I deleted the code when I got home with my actron, and the MIL has stayed off since, however, it shows P0073 Permanent ...
So my check engine light came on in my 04 jetta sw, and when I had the car read, it gave me a code that tracked down to be a bad coolant temp sensor. I bought the replacement part from my local VW dealership, installed it and the check engine light went away. Now about 2 weeks late it came back on, and I am getting a reading of "Coolant temp sensor high voltage". So it goes from needing replaced, then the replacement is running high voltage?
View 3 RepliesI just replaced my CTS, and I noticed that there is a small section of exposed harness wiring between the end of the loom and the CTS connector. I can't tell if it came loose when I swapped the sensor, or if it was this way for awhile, but all of the other harness connections around this area are completely covered and the loom end doesn't seem to clip into the connector or anything. If I were to try and seal it, I would need to use tape.
How hot does this area get? It seems like there shouldn't be exposed wiring here.

My 2003 Mk 4 Golf have had a lot of error codes and I have cleared most (O2 sensors, thermostat, and Mass Air Sensor) I now have an error P0113 which is the Intake Air temp Sensor.
So I need to clean the sensor first then maybe replace it, but I can't find the sensor on the intake manifold.
I have looked all through the U-Tube info, but nothing matches my 2003 Golf 2.0L ...
2001 jetta 2.0 VW guys a while back I was pulling a code saying that the air temp sensor circuit was low I believe it was P0112 so I replaced the maf with a bwd maf. Said it was for the car. Was fine for a day but now it has a P0102 code and the epc stays on (rough idle) what could be wrong ? Is it because the car hasn't learned the new sensor yet because I've only drove 10km or do I have a faulty sensor. BTW replacing the maf fixed the P0112 code
View 5 RepliesNoticed today that when I was in a parking garage the gauge lights were off, but when I pulled out into the sun they slowly illuminated. This must mean there is an ambient light sensor, which I didn't know, and can't that be tapped for an automatic headlight retrofit?
Have a 2011 TDI is that matters.....
Where is the ambiant outside air temp sensor located on the Phaeton? I know it is located under the outside left or right mirror (based on model year) on a Volvo but not sure where it is on the Phaeton. No problems, just curious.
View 6 RepliesWhere it is?? Body shop didn't connect it after repairing my bumper and I would rather not have to take it off again..
View 3 RepliesMy temperature has been randomly dropping, them back to middle, and recently my engine was overheating because I'm guessing the fans didn't turn on, because I'm also guessing, the engine didn't know it was overheating?
Anywho, during my replacement, I made sure to get rid of the pressure, and the car was cold. I tightened the cap again, but when I took the sensor out, all the coolant spewed out.
Now if I understand this correctly, do I have a leak? I figured the leak I had was coming from the temp sensor as it is.
Here's some pictures for those who'd like to see ....

I recently got the solid check engine light for my 2003 VW Jetta 1.8T GLS. I used a bluetooth OBDII dongle and Torque Pro to pull the code P0118. This seems to coincide with my symptoms:
Car idle at start in park stays around 1100RPM then in reverse it drops to 1000RPM then back into park and it stays around 900RPM and keeps that at idle.
If I start the car then immediately reverse out of my driveway then the car has a very rough idle but if I wait around 5 seconds in park idle then reverse out of my driveway it is smooth.
My car dash thermometer stays pretty close to the bottom low then after about 4-5 minutes it shoots up to 190F and stays. Gas mileage is also very poor.
I looked up a tutorial which shows the parts needed and how to replace the sensor : [URL] .....
I removed the engine cover and believe I found the coolant temp sensor in the spot the tutorial shows. My question is if there is anything I should be aware of before attempting to replace this sensor that this tutorial doesn't cover? I took a screenshot of what I believe is the coolant temp sensor.
Where is the coolant temp sensor on a 1.8t passat 04? I did a search but cant find any diagram
View 1 RepliesWhere the transmission temperature sensor is on a 2014 Camry 4 cylinder. I am contemplating unplugging it to improve shift points. I know it may affect gas mileage but the current shift points suck.
