Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Slave Cylinder Green Rubber Boot Filled With Brake Fluid And Began Leaking A Little

Was bleeding my brakes and clutch. Using a power bleeder and it seems as though I put a little too much pressure into the system. The Slave cylinder's green rubber boot filled with brake fluid and began leaking a little. Did I blow a seal? Is this normal with pressure like that? I feel like pushing the clutch in would give more pressure than my little hand pump gives...

Golf V R32 :: Separate Boot From Knob To Install New Boot?

I'm repainting my peeling shifter trim plate and replacing the shift boot with a new one. Lots of support available on removing the shifter and disassembling the trim plate, but no clear instructions on how to remove the boot from the knob. It looks like this inside:

How do I separate the boot from the knob to install a new boot? The only instructions I found showed a metal collar which is not the case in our cars.

Phaeton :: No Boot / Trunk Lightning?

Just picked up my car from the VW Centre, I had the Wiring Harness for Trunk Lid replaced. Now the lights within the the boot and the light in the Trunk Close button are not working.

Could this be a fuse? if so which one, left my manual in UK and I am abroad at the moment. Or could this mean a mistake has been made whilst installing the new wiring?

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Water Coming Into Trunk Via Vent Valves

I get a very small (between a teaspoon and tablespoon) amount of water coming in through my trunk vent valves when it rains heavy. I replaced them last week with new OEM ones thinking that was the problem because the old vents used the foam for the seal (new ones have rubber for the seal). I noticed that the water is coming in through the openings of the flaps for some reason. The water is not coming in through the seal of the vent valves at all. I also used silicone for that too just to be safe. Some how water is getting between my bumper and trunk and dripping down into the fabric flaps of the vents.

Water leaks on both sides of the headliner and c pillars? I'm in the process of re-doing my headliner and I've not noticed that there is water leaking from both sides in the rear of the vehicle. It seems that the headliner board is touching the window a little bit, could it just be condensation? If not, what is it and how do i fix it?

Phaeton :: Leaking Steering Rack - Oil Pouring Out Of The Boot

I'd noticed an oil leak drivers side and upon investigation it appears the rack has developed a leak. I lifted the car on the vehicle lift and when I did noticed oil pouring out of the boot surrounding the steering linkage coming from the steering rack. With the tires dropped the full amount this created a tilt of said boot allowing the oil that had filled the boot to drain out. My conclusion is the rack has developed a leak with the boot being full of oil.

I did a "steering rack" search but nothing of value appeared.

Golf/GTI VI :: 2012 - Wind Noise And Water Leaking From Same Area

This is what my ticket reads, vehicle operating at manufacture standards. Tech road tested vehicle at highway speeds. Tech compared vehicle to demo vehicle. Demo vehicle was road tested at highway speeds. Both vehicles have exact same wind noise. I have also had water leak into the car from same area, for this they said the door seal is deformed & ordered a new one. The carpet in the back where the spare is located is also separating from the material it is glued to.

Prius (2001-03) :: CV Boot Inboard Joints Are Leaking Some Grease

The rubber on all my CV joint boots looks really good. Really amazingly good, I don't see anything that looks like a tear or split anywhere, or even anything looking like weak spots.

And yet ... Both of the inboard joints are leaking some grease that looks like it's coming right out under the lip of the boot at the fat end, beyond where it's clamped.

Is that common?Even though the noise I was checking into turned out to have a simpler explanation ....

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Clunking Noise When Hit The Brakes - Water Leaking From Hose

So I just bottomed out really hard and I pulled over to a gas station to check out my car to see if I busted anything. I noticed on the way to the gas station that for the first two times I hit the brakes hard there was a clunking noise but now it went away. Onto the leaking part though, there are two hoses that run just along the inside of the frame on the passenger side just behind the wheel and one of the lines is leaking a lot of water. What these lines run to/from? I'm going to get the car on the lift tomorrow.

Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Power Steering Rack Seems To Be Leaking Through Rubber Boot

I was replacing the oil in the transfer case and came across this under the passenger side. Power steering rack seems to be leaking through the rubber boot, but I have not noticed anything on the garage floor in recent months...

Can the boot itself be replaced? I hate to think the whole system needs to be replaced.
