So here in SOCAL the roads tend to be a little rough and I feel slight yet annoying vibrations in my TSI with the 15 inch alloys on freeway speeds. Is this normal?

Last night I checked rear shocks.. and one of them seems to have some oil leakage I am not really sure, but it has... some wet lines above it.. so I guess that's oil...
Dealership tested the car around 15 days ago, but this weird noise wasn't present.. although they order new rear shock and springs...
I have a 2014 passat 1.8 tsi comfort line about 7 months old. And i have some questions about it. Does warranty cover interior quality? cuz there are loud crackling noises while driving on normal roads. and recently since it snowed the crackling became much more noticeable and loud, really annoying.
In the morning backing out of the driving way, the breaks squeak in a really high pitch sound, the dealership told me it is normal but it got louder than when i first got it. Seems like its a normal problem for most, but is there a way to reduce the noise? i get its cleaning the brakes but its mad loud.
So driving in the snow the brakes get really bumpy, is that abs or is it like crushing snow? just sorta scary feeling.
When I go over bumpy roads I get car noise. Seems worse than 6 mos ago. Maybe I'm imagining it. The noises are diffuse and somewhat varied, not limited to a single area. And varies in intensity with the bumps.
Anyway, I tried testing for bad shocks by pushing down the front and back of my 2004 Honda Pilot and watching the return. But I didn't observe much. I couldn't get much vertical distance on the push down, to begin with.
Incidentally, there's no instability while driving...no up and down bouncing, no lateral movement, no problem when braking or starting.
We just bought a new 2013 F150 Platinum 4x2 with 5.5 bed. Love everything about it except that we have noticed it bounces and/or vibrates a lot on concrete roads/highways. Dealer admits this is an issue with truck, but won't admit any design flaw, and has suggested Bilstein shocks as well as putting 300+ lbs in the bed. We've heard from the Sales Rep, Svc Mgr and Svc Advisor that they've done similar things with their trucks to overcome this problem. Before we invest more $$$ into a fix, we are looking for any tried and true solutions from other like-truck owners.
View 8 RepliesSo I've been hearing this vibration rattle or buzzing noise... on rough roads and overpasses in southern California. I've uploaded a video clip. At 4 seconds I enter the overpass... and you can hear the buzzing noise from 6 seconds to 9 seconds, you might need to raise the volume.
Is this a normal noise from overpasses? My old cars didn't do this. Also I can't tell where it's coming from, maybe the rear upper area or who knows, could be the license plate for all I know.
Car is a 2015 IS 350 F Sport
So i am trying to diagnose my vibration/noise that i am getting from the front right side of my 08 prius (176k miles). It kind of like a rattle vibration when driving on fairly smooth roads. I jacked up the right side to take a look around to see if anything is out of the ordinary. I did the push pull around the tired to see if there was any motion (there was none). Although there is some play when you manual rotate the wheel, about and inch of circumferential motion. Is this normal ?
View 6 RepliesI'm having an issue with my drivers side door trim vibrating. Bumpy roads, snow covered roads, pretty much any road surface that isn't perfect, this piece of trip vibrates and makes a squeaking noise. I've attached a picture and put a circle where the noise is coming from. If I hold that part with my hand, the noise stops. It's very annoying since it's right next to my ear!
View 6 RepliesOk so we all know it's usually warped rotors or possibly a caliber problem. But let's say u have new of both. And still I'm getting a wobble, not only when I brake at higher speeds, but when I'm on certain roads. Only certain roads. Say about 20% of other roads while driving I get a slight wobble. Not too bad, but a very annoying wobble. I bought this CTS at 35k and now has 45k on it. And again I bought this car for my long commute and a smooth drive. Which I'm not getting. I can't take it anymore! I've got to figure this out. Getting a wobble in the steering while on super smooth roads. And I know it's the car because I have a Chevy Cavalier and a Dodge truck in the family that don't wobble on the same roads.

View 13 RepliesI picked up some Daytona 18X8" 41 offset wheels to replace the Proto's 17X7.5 47 offset on my TDI. Im new to the whole wheel/fitment thing, so I figured I would ask.
When driving my car with the wheels on, I get some rubbing when the back end is loaded or if I hit a good bump. What I am wondering is if there is anything you can do to eliminate this. The car currently has stock suspension. I have also provided pictures of the car with the wheels on it.
Yesterday I was driving about 120 km/h on the highway, my 2015 GTI (DSG) suddenly decelerated to about 110 km/h -- the sensation was that the engine downshifted on its own.
The transmission was in Drive, and I wasn't in sport / automatic mode. An error message appeared on the dash display telling me, 'this isn't a good time to put your car in reverse' -- or something to that effect (I don't remember the exact wording as by the time I pulled over to the side of the road the message was gone, but the yellow warning notification symbol was still up.
I turned off the car, let it sit for a minute or two, and then restarted it. The yellow warning symbol was no longer lit up, so after letting the car idle of a minute, I pulled back onto the highway and proceeded to my destination without further incident.
The car is at the dealer this morning for diagnostics.... One thing to note: It's been very cold here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada these last couple of days (-25 C) and yesterday I didn't 'warm up' the car as much as I normally would as I was running late for an appointment. Wondering if that might have had an effect... It's the only thing I can think of that's a variable.
2013 4dr Stage 1 w/ dog bone tranny insert, VWR springs, 29K mi. LONG time Corrado VR6 owner - new to OBD II / turbo cars.
Car just doesn't feel as "solid" as it should. I expected it to feel really buttoned down with a quiet cabin.
I hear annoying creaking type noises when going over bumps / rougher roads (even did this with stock springs) Sounds like coming from rear interior, like window seal areas.
Not sure if this is due to body flex or something else. Anything to address this? Would any kind of stabilizer bars (front strut / rear hatch / under body chassis) work? or make it worse?
Have creaking windows when driving around, especially when pulling to drive ways or going over speed bumps? Curious if there is a fix for this or if maybe my car needs to be looked at? The windows function properly and I don't have any issues with them except they just make a lot of creaking noises while driving.
View 11 RepliesBeen hearing a plastic sounding tapping noise when I ride over very bumpy roads. Turns out the floor panel in the trunk has some play and it's not padded. Well I wedged a towel Between the floor and the trunk lid and the tapping is gone. I was able to duplicate the sound by lifting and dropping the sliding floor in the trunk. Anyway I'm thrilled car is supple and quite over bumpy roads now. I went over every bumpy road I could find; nice and planted and quite now...

I've never seen this with my previous cars and I am wondering is this normal? I've tried Google this without much success ..
View 11 RepliesSince the weather has warmed up, I have been experiencing an odd issue. After I drive my car for a little while I will let it sit and go to class for example. Whenever I get back into my car and start it, It will bog for a second and then resume to normal idle. It has happened multiple times with no check engine light. I will try to get a video tomorrow.

I know the exhaust is loud as all the reviews say and i know there are videos on youtube of the exhaust but its always either with the windows down or windows up and radio off. I just want to know how much louder than stock it is just cruising with windows up and radio on if i want some sort of quiet.
View 24 RepliesI've been having this problem for a few weeks now and its getting real bad. When I'm driving along at normal speeds my car will cut off on its own. Also when I'm slowing down the car will jump up 5-600 rpms and at utter and shake a lot and every other time it'll cut off. I've replaced the maf and nothings changed. I'm really hoping it doesn't have to do with the transmission. The car has 241k on it .
