Yesterday I noticed the rear driver's side speaker buzzing in my GTI S. Is it possible that I already have a blown speaker (I don't usually crank the system)? Maybe it has something to do with the -5 temps? Anyway, should I take it to the dealer or see about getting some aftermarket speakers since the S sound system is pretty mediocre?

I got home today opened my door and got snaked in the face with the smell of brakes. I got out of the truck then I heard the drivers side rear brakes popping as they are cooling down. I reached down to touched the wheel and it's crazy hot. Opened the garage and went to retrieve the infared thermometer. The rotor/caliper was 350 degrees, hub was 150 degrees, axle tube was 90 degrees.
I took the wheel off and inspected stuff. The rotors do have some heat spots, the caliper visibly looks okay but not 100%. The pads look like even wear. I am guessing that the caliper either is hanging up or I have a wheel bearing going? The passenger side was like 80 degrees on everything. There is a slight shimmy while driving which to me feels to me like the beginning of warped rotors. I don't hear anything to me that screams wheel bearing noise wise.Brakes or bearings?
A months or so ago, after turning off my car I noticed a loud buzzing noise coming from the drivers-side lower firewall area. I cranked the car up and the buzzing stopped immediately. The problem began as intermittent but now within 2 minutes of turning my car the buzzing noise always starts, and runs my battery dead! I have taken my car to 2 local shops that have good reputations and they both began guessing and throwing parts at the problem to no avail my last resort is a dealership but it is 100 miles away and I'm not sure if they would do any better. I feel like this is something simple that an expert should have no problem diagnosing.
I have been searching around the internet and never seem to find someone with the exact same problem - until today!

Just bought a 2002 VW Passat and the rear drivers side speaker doesn't work. How to remove the door panel? I have been searching for about a week and still have only found how to remove the front drivers side panel, which is completely different from the rear panel.

4x4, 3.55 e-locker, 5.0l. It is one nice ride but it already has a blown speaker rear drivers side which is frustrating, I see this is a common issue with these trucks. Just hope it is not a recurring thing. But still a great truck.
It goes on and off with a buzzing sound. less so with the radio than with the satellite radio which is wired through the cd plug in the trunk..
Sometimes goes back on when you hid a bump like there's a poor connection.
My 2005 Jeta GLI is making some crazy noise when i turn to the left from the driver side I tough the problem was the axle so I had the front part replaced and the noise still there I don't know what else needs to be replaced ....

A person on here had said they disconnected theirs and then set it up again and buzzing disappeared. I managed to disconnect it and followed the owner's manual to reconnect it but it keeps saying no device found.
View 8 RepliesI purchased a 2010 Escape Hybrid last October. Within a month it would occasionally make knocking noises from the speaker area above the right side (passenger) rear wheel well. It took several visits to the dealer before this noise would "perform" for them. They thought it was the amplifier, so they disconnected the amplifier...it still did it. So they replaced the amplifier ... it still did it, but it changed pitch and frequency.
I have made videos of it for them since it is so erratic it is hard to get it to do it for them. It will go days, weeks or even months without doing it, and then do it consistently for days and weeks. It seems to do it most when the weather is around 40-60 degrees and often when it is damp ... although this is not always the case. It will do it after you turn the car off for up to 30 seconds ... It will do it when you first start the car before you move.
By the way ... my son in law swears it is the little circular thing in the center of a speaker that vibrates back and forth with sound that is "popping". I suggested that to the dealer and they said that would be really surprising ... I told them that whatever it is its going to be surprising!
I occasionally hear a buzzing sound in my driver side door. I turn down the radio to make sure it wasn't the speaker. This noise only last for a few seconds then goes away.

View 5 RepliesI noticed a clunking noise in the rear of my car (drivers side more specifically). After doing some investigating, I noticed that the bushing in the rear shock absorber is completely shot. It is practically falling out and this is what is causing my noise. My question is, is it possible to be able to just replace the bushing in the shock? If not, I assume I could just replace the rear shocks without having to get a whole new set of coilovers? Can I replace the rear shocks with a different aftermarket brand or do I have to stick with raceland?
View 7 RepliesOver the course of the past week or so, I've been getting an odd noise from the rear driver side of the vehicle. It's kind of a metallic clicking sound, but the clicks are rather erratic. As I accelerate, the duration between clicks decreases. It's not a "click.. click... click..." noise either. More like, "click click... click... click click click... click click..." If that makes any sense at all. I'm thinking that my wheel bearing is going out, but I don't know for certain. What I might be looking at?
View 12 RepliesI installed a Morimoto Elite HID system in my car. Testing it out I noticed that while the car is off, but the ignition is on, the lights work flawlessly. Once I started the car up the driver's side light flickers and there's a harsh buzzing noise coming from the relay.
You may be thinking to yourself, "This is an easy one, he just needs a capacitor" ....but the thing is, I also installed a capacitor with it. The power from the stock headlights plugs into a cable that runs through the rubber flange (that fills the hole you make in the back of the housing cap) directly into the capacitor. The output from the capacitor then runs into the relay. I believe this is the correct setup.
Could the tail lights be the results of some buzzing/static noise coming from my rear passenger side? I hear this noise when I'm on rough surfaces and it sounds like it's coming from over my right shoulder. It's a faint noise and I can only hear it when the audio is off. 2013 Camry SE ...
View 5 RepliesI had both fronts replaced about a month or so ago. Now it feels like my driver side is still making a vibrating noise when accelerating. My mechanic told me he thinks its making noise between gears. The only reason I don't think that's what it is, is because it never made this noise before I had them replaced. They were replaced with Empi axles. Should i just have it replaced and see if it still makes noise.
