Golf/GTI VII :: Oil Service Reminder Resetting

Can the service reminders, such as oil change due now, be reset by us owners? I do most of my own maintenance and am hoping to be able to reset when needed.

View 4 RepliesSo the service reminder came on this past Saturday, went to the dealer and had them check it out. No issues and they said they reset it. I was driving home last night and it came back on. Should I be concerned the reminder came back on? The car ahs 18K miles and the 20K service was done prior to me purchasing the car. Vehicle is a 2012 Passat SE.
View 1 RepliesI have an 08 350 AWD with only 52K. Today I noticed that a service indicator showed up on my screen for the Transmission. It says " ATF contact this dealer for Maintenance" The car shifts just fine. I did have to replace the oil pan and some fluid about 6 months ago and no issues since. I can find not one drop of fluid in my Garage. What triggers the indicator?
View 9 RepliesAfter each maintenance I think my service reminder was reset to 10,000 miles. But after my 60k service it says 4700 miles until service is due. I tried resetting it myself and it still says 4700 miles. Is something wrong?
View 4 RepliesI have a 1996 Celica GT and I am having problems with the service reminder indicators within the instrument cluster panel. I recently had the car inspected in Pennsylvania and I was told that some of the service indicators were not working so they failed the cars inspection. Some of these indicators should illuminate when the ignition key is turned to the ACC or ON position(s). Currently, the only indicators that light up when the key is turned to the ACC or ON position are the SRS Airbag Warning light that stays lit for about six seconds, the BRAKE indicator, the low oil pressure warning light and the bing bing bing sound that my seatbelt is not fastened with no indicator light showing up in the instrument cluster. The CHECK ENGINE and the ABS lights do not light up either.
I removed the instrument cluster and found the CHECK ENGINE bulb was blown so I replaced the bulb and reinstalled the instrument cluster. Per the manual, I checked the 7.5 amp fuse labeled 'instrument panel lights' in position #22 per the diagram and found the fuse to be in good working order. I also checked the 10 amp fuse labeled 'gauges and meters' in position #32 per the diagram and found the fuse to be in good working order. No change to the status of the lights as described above. My daughter did assure me that these lights worked at some point over the past year (she was away at college).
I had my first service done away from the Volvo dealership. 2004 S60 AWD ... How to reset the service required message. (Canadian model).
The sales rep is trying to find this out for me as well. He knows it involves the pressing of the trip computer button and while holding in another button.
I just bought a 2008 Mercedes E350 with 92,000 miles. After 2 days of driving a message displays " Service c due in 14 days" .I called local Benz dealer and they said the oil will need changing. The place I bought the car from assured me they had changed the oil prior to putting it up for sale. How do you reset this message on the car. I have looked through the owner manual and not found anything about this.
View 2 RepliesMy service indicator is yelling Service Now
Car is at 18K miles and change, I had it serviced at all the factory intervals sticker on my windshield (from VW dealer) says next service at 20,345 so it looks like VW is on a 5K interval and my computer is looking for something else. Should I ignore the nagging until the proper service interval or take it to the dealer, then I can bug them about the laggy gearbox and other niggles ...
What is that weird sound when opening the door on my new 4 door Golf VII? It sounds like something is resetting itself. It sounds like it is supposed to be doing this. Doing this since day one. Just curious as to what is going on.
View 12 RepliesIs there a way to reset the "Service Now" indicator by myself without going back to the dealer?
View 21 Replieswondering how to reset service warning?
View 7 RepliesThe MFD did the 500 mile service countdown and now just says service now, to get this cleared do I need someone with a Vag-Com to clear it? is there some trick or will it go away automatically.
View 4 RepliesI completely forget how to reset the service indicator, need to refresh my memory?
View 6 RepliesSo I just got my oil change and the "service now" warning did not turn off. Can I do that myself or not?
View 5 RepliesI am a relatively new owner of a 03 R32 with 34,000 miles on the clock. I did a major service barely 600 miles ago. Yesterday the " Service Now" light came on as soon as i started the car. Stayed on for like 3 sec & went off. Didn't come back on again. Is the reminder set on a time interval clock? (My Ford Explorer is set that way) How can i reset it?
View 7 RepliesI've had my Golf Wagon for over 2 years. A week ago it started giving me the service warning every time I start. service in 4000 miles or 350 days. I had a dealer done oil change, took a 5000 mi road trip, came home, and now this happens every time I start my car.
I feel I could turn it off via vag com, but I also feel like I've crossed in a parallel universe. as every post just tells people how to "reset"... can't find anything about on/off or its sudden appearance out of nowhere! and I can't for mysterious reasons, post on other forums.
did the dealer do something via vag com? did my co-driver hit some weird combo of buttons?
The service light for the oil change came on this weekend. The car only has 2996 miles on it. The manual calls for the oil change at 5000 miles. My Touareg doesn't do this. Is this tied in to how you drive or is something wrong?
View 6 RepliesSo I did my own oil change for the first time instead of taking it to a shop. Now I have the service warning indicator that comes on in the MFD every time I start the car. Is there any way to reset the interval warning indicator without a vag com or taking it to a dealer/ind. shop?
View 4 RepliesWhats going on in VW land. I have a little problem. Last week I got gas and as soon as I left the gas station the engine light came on. I ran diagnostics, which show cylinder 3 misfire. Looking for the easy way out I replaced the spark plugs (cylinder 3 plug was trashed), this did not fix the problem and my baby is still running like crap. What it may be or the next step I have to take?
I am approaching the 100,000 mile mark and in the service portion of our manual it doesn't say anything about changing belts. It only says they run diagnostic and check the car out.
How to go about reseting service indicator through the dash??
