I have a few questions...
1. How do I stop the rear seatbelts from rattling when I have the windows open?
2. What can I buy to replace the ugly, black plastic 12V plug in the center console?
3. What should I use to replace the dealer license plate frames on my black GTI? What looks good?
I did post this in the annoying things thread as well, but I'm wondering what the deal is with my rear windows... why do they need to stop about 2 inches from going all the way down? Is this one of those stupid North American laws? Are Euro spec cars the same or can I fix this somehow?
View 9 RepliesI have the three way flapper switch and lately when I would start the car cold with the switch in the stock position I would hear a strange rattling/vibrating sound coming from the rear of the car then the other night I was trying to creep home and the flapper wouldn't close and still won't close no matter what position the switch is in. I looked and everything looks fine, the vacuum line is still connected and everything. Could this be a problem in the vacuum system or a blown fuse? Solenoid problem? I've never heard of this before....
View 13 RepliesMy passenger side front and rear windows dont work. Both driver side windows work, just not the right side/passenger side.
Also when I press the master door lock/unlock switch on the driver seat, every door except the rear passenger door works. It stays unchanged so I guess it is not receiving a signal or something is not letting the signal reach the lock.
I've had the rear barn doors and window start rattling lately no matter how tight I think I've closed them. The seals look ok.

View 7 RepliesI've learned I can't drive with my rear windows open because it generates this whopping noise that's so bad it hurts your ears and shakes the car a bit at highway speeds. Sounds like a helicopter sitting on top of the car. I'm thinking it's caused by the air waffling in the rear window/deck space, since it's only slightly better since I took off the rear seat headrests. View 10 RepliesMy electric rear vent windows seem to have a problem opening when the temperature is cold outside. They work almost perfectly when the weather warms up, with the exception of an odd little glitch here and there. Generally summer is good, winter is a no-go. I understand this is a common problem ???
Even at the times when they don't open I can clearly hear an electronic click near the back pillars, with each push of the control switch up front, so I assume the current is making it at least that far and there is no problem with the wiring up to that point.
I have recently removed two used actuators (R+L) from a donor vehicle, and will likely be installing those into my van in the very near future. Although I believe they came from a close but different year windstar which did not have the exact same "rivets" through the window as mine does. External arms etc that can be seen do look identical as does the pivot ball.
#1. is replacement of the actuators a likely solution to the problem ?
#2. by chance, is it merely just an issue of dirty connections with my present actuators ?
#3. can / should I do anything such use dielectric grease on the connections of either my present ones or the donor ones upon replacement, to alleviate future recurrence ?
I am really an mk4 guy but my wife just got a new 2010 golf and we are both too lazy to get out the manual and read. how do you open the windows using the key fob???
View 18 RepliesI have just purchased a 2009 Ford Crown Vic Interceptor a few weeks ago. One of the few things I would like to fix is the rear doors. I want to have people in the back have the ability to roll down their own windows and open their own doors. I have plugged the wires, that were in the armrest back into the button but still doesn't work. I am assuming the fuse might also be missing from the fuse box but I have not looked yet and when looking through the owners manual I could figure out which fuse it would have been or its place.
The other issue with the doors is people getting out on their own rather than me feeling like their limo driver or something... Iss there a kit I can buy to get the doors in full working order? If I take it into a ford dealership will/can they fix it?

KESSY: I figured out how to close all windows when locking, but is there a way to open all windows on unlock? There seem to be options in the "Convenience" menu pertaining to window operation, but I don't really see any effect when switching them. The manual is less than useful on this...
I have 2001 EX with the 7.3 and my rear vent windows stuck open and I am stumped as to what might be the culprit. There isn't any power getting to the switches in the overhead console.
I replaced the relay 204 in the engine compartment, I believe that is the correct one.
Where the actual fuse is located for this and its number? Because both of them are stuck open not just one side.
Is this something that can be done with the remote? Does it have to be activated by the dealer? I can open/close windows/sunroof with the key but not with my remote.

View 3 RepliesJust noticed today that when my exterior lights are on and I open the rear hatch, as soon as the latch pops the inner taillights (the ones on the hatch) go out. Do I have a wiring problem or is this normal? Just seems kinda odd; never saw a car with trunk-or-hatch-mounted tails extinguish them when the trunk/hatch is opened.
Oh, 2011 Golf TDI btw.
2008 F-450 Crewcab .... The seatbelts in the back seat keep tightening up when driving. They cant be working right which makes them dangerous. Had the grandson turning red they were holding him in so tight and every bump they tighten a little more? Any way to set them up or anything?
View 4 RepliesI finally got rid of my 2.0 and upgraded to the Vr6 5-speed. The other day my driver side rear door just came open. I tried closing it but it just bounce back open. I tried those methods of YouTube to see if that works but still nothing. Now i had to tie my door shut and experience my car not being locked completely. My alarm would go off and everytime i drive my car, i have to deal with that annoying ding the car makes when the doors are open.

Is there a way to open the windows from the key fob/remote? This would be really nice since the remote start function is so poorly implemented.
My BMW opens the windows if I hold down the unlock button on the remote or if I put the key in the door lock cylinder and turn and hold (can also close the windows with the key in lock, but not the remote). I've tried and didn't get it to work, but my remote start also gives me fits, so I'm not sure that I'm actually holding the button down right or long enough.
I installed a non-auto euro switch. I tried scandinavian drls and that left all my exterior lights on at all switch positions, even off and when the key is off. I switched no drls and the switch works as it is supposed to. I tried enabling some of the comfort stuff. I want the remote to be able to open and close the windows, but I can't get it to do it. I think i have the right boxes checked in vag com, but no luck.
