My wife has safety concern about the two door version. Is the hatch door can be opened from inside?

View 4 RepliesDoes button on the drivers door open your hatch. Mine does not. Just wondering if this was normal.
View 13 RepliesHow do you open the hatch from inside? Is it any easier than in previous models?
View 19 RepliesSo I noticed my door wouldn't open from the outside when my friend was trying to get in the backseat. It opened from the inside, and like an idiot I turned the child safety lock. So now the door will not open from the inside or the outside.
Is there any possible way I can get to the cable to get the door open from the interior or exterior?? Can I take the door panel off without the door being open?? It's a 2003 Jetta GLS 1.8t...
My 2002 Santa Fe Back Hatch Door will not open. I have removed the inside panel & all the linkage seems to work OK. But the main latch will not let go & I cannot see where to trip it. How I can get it opened, just can't see where to trip it but believe it can be done from inside.
View 4 RepliesWHen i open the back hatch, the light does not come on when the switch is on door but if i flip it to on it works fine...
View 2 RepliesWe are currently driving home, and our Chrysler Town & Country's rear hatch door won't unlock and open, by key or handle, so our suitcases are trapped in back. We don't know if there's an easy fix, but we won't get home until Sunday, when our mechanic is closed. We'd like to unpack!
View 5 RepliesJust picked up a 2005 and the hatch glass will not open. Tried everything that I have read on here and on ClubTouareg. It has to be the fuse or something. Pressing the button on the remote does nothing and neither does the switch on the driver's side door.
View 6 RepliesI have had that car, the best one I have ever owned, since shortly after Nine-One-One, a date some of you may remember.
I never open any door but the driver's door with the key. Several months ago, for some reason it occurred to me to try and see if they worked.
Nope, both the rear hatch and passenger's door lock would not open with the key. I assumed that the mechanism corroded up over lack of use over the years.
I thought, Well, crud. But, since I haven't used those door locks in over 12 years, I can probably get by.
I thought I had lost the spare car key when I was in Texas in December. To my surprise, I saw it on the key rack in the kitchen here in rural Mexico. I took it out to the car to check it out, and it opens all the doors.
I compared the keys, and one of the 'vanes' on the key I use all the time is a very tiny bit smaller than on the spare key. My guess is either that key never opened those two doors and I never noticed it. Or, it has worn over 12 years.
So, I guess when I get back to the States, I will have a copy made of the spare key. I am also going to post this on Sienna Chat for obvious reasons.
99 k1500 (older body style). I saw older threads but didn't want to revive 11 year old threads. Door opens from the outside but not from the inside. Do I need to remove the whole interior door panel? What am I looking for? My auto parts store sells this, but it seems to require rivets (I don't have a riveter) so if I DO need this part, is there another way to install it?
View 3 RepliesI slammed my door shut and now it wont open from inside or outside, I pulled the door panel off the top and took as many card bolts out as I could and pried the card to check things out, seems like everything is working the same as the passenger door which I could get completely apart for comparison. Cables are attached and both handles move the mechanism, the lock and unlock seem to be working, the handles move free and easily but don't seem to catch anything. How can I get this door open to take the mechanism out?!?
View 2 RepliesMy 04 audi a4 driver door will not open from the inside or outside. The bowden cable is a little loose but it has some tension, but even if that was broken i should still be able to open from the outside. the key fob will arm the alarm also.
And I can hear the door manually locking if i use the key also.i can arm the alarm only if i use the key to lock the door manually. but it will not open. i have to either crawl through the window or from the other side. Other than ripping the door panel apart and opening the door that way? Also the dash display shows the door is shut so that is a plus...
So a few weeks back the rear right door started to not open from the outside and now a cople of days ago the door wont open from the inside...
How can you open a door when the lock or something is broken both from the inside and outside do i have to unscrew the door from the brackets or what?
I took of the handle panel on the exterior of the car to adjust the rod so the door would open easier. NOW THE DOOR WONT OPEN AT ALL!
Its a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE.
I've tried removing the door panel from the inside, but it seems useless because the retarded vertical handles cant even be accessed from the door panel.
I owned a Volvo 2003 s60, my question is I don't whether my car has an alarm system and siren, I have tried to open the door from inside, but the alarm doesn't come on. If doesn't have how can I install one.
View 2 RepliesSo I was having a problem with my right rear door on my '99 Passat. Even when unlocked, I could not open it from the outside, just the inside. So today my dad decides to take a look at it and opens it (from the inside) and puts the child safety lock on... and closes the door. So now I can't get in through that door from either way.
View 4 RepliesI am driving a 2012 Sante Fe with a bit of a problem. A rear door does not open from inside nor outside. Is there a way to remove the panel to gain access with the door closed?
View 3 RepliesI have a 1992 Celica GT and I having problems with the doors. The driver side door won't open from the inside or out. The locking mechanism works and the lock moves but when you pull the door handle it won't open. I have noticed a similar problem that is happens on occasion with the passenger door. On it you can open it from the inside but not the outside. I'm afraid that my fiance that drives the vehicle as a school car will get stuck inside.
View 3 RepliesWhen you pull the handle on the door it doesn't latch on to anything to open the door, whats wrong?
View 6 RepliesI have a problem, the passenger front door won't open from inside or out, neither handle on the inside or out works.
The lock goes up and down and the handles move but you can feel that they are not connected to anything. I took it to two mechanics and they shrugged.
If I can't open the door, I can't take the panels off and look inside the door. What I can do? I hate to destroy my door panel.
Drivers door wont open using inside door handle. It will open using the outside handle. Door locks are functioning using key, inside door knob, and door lock buttons. Problem started this am. I tried squirting WD40 into the latch, without taking anything apart...and am thinking of removing the inside door panel and getting a better look.
