Golf/GTI VII :: Every Time Had To Initially Pair Bluetooth With Phone?
Dec 9, 2015
I've had my '16 GTI for about a month now and the Bluetooth is driving me nuts. Every time I get in the car, the radio initiates a pairing request to my phone and I have to manually acknowledge that the PIN matches and hit Allow a few times to exchange contacts and other messages.
What am I missing? When I turn the car off, the VW radio immediately disappears from my phone's list of paired devices.
I'm about ready to go back to the dealership and demand a new radio. This is nuts.
I'm actually fairly pleased with Android Auto, but I think this flaky BT issues is disrupting my AA from connecting smoothly.
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 that is about 3 months old.

We have a 2010 IV and a 2012 pip. My Android phone will pair and connect with the 2010. It pairs with the 2012, but the 2012 will then say "Connect Failed" when my phone is selected. My wife has an iPhone which pairs and connects to both cars. My phone uses Bluetooth 4.0 profiles. And after pairing I've limited it to telephone audio only. I've deleted and repaired countless times with the same result.

I just got a 2014 ES350 and love it, however, I have one issue I can't seem to figure out and I have to assume their is an easy fix. When I use my phone (bluetooth via car) and I'm using the navigation system, the voice still give me directions while I'm on the phone. 1) it's distracting for me to have a conversation the same time the navigation is talking 2) the person on the phone hears it as well. Is their a way to set up so that the voice automatically mutes while I'm on the phone?

I have a 2010 Santa Fe Ltd with the nav system and can not pair either my Blackberry Classic (Operating system 10.3) or a Samsung Galaxy phone to the car's Bluetooth. Note: My phone is set to Discoverable
I have tried repeatedly using the standard pairing process and it doesn't recognize either device. It simply times out after a few seconds. I push Setup button and the prompt on the nav screen says "Connecting to Windows phone". Does this mean that this vehicle only pairs with a Windows cell phone?

Just got a Verizon iPhone4 (finally) and am having bluetooth pairing issues with my '06 Prius (non-Nav). The behavior is not quite what I've seen described on other threads, so I don't know what try here. Note that my old junkie dumbphone worked reliably with the Prius over Bluetooth.

I let my wife drive the car for the past few weeks. This weekend I took it for a 2 hour drive, and I couldn't get my bluetooth to sync with my phone. There is no longer anything related to bluetooth on the display, so I can't even scroll through options to try to sync. The voice command button does not work either, when pushed it does nothing. My car has almost 50k miles so this will not be covered if I take it back to the dealership, so if possible I would like to fix this myself.

I have the SEL Premium: My wife drove the car several days ago and may have changed some settings and now the phone doesn't even pop up in the informational display. I've done my homework in the manual but can't seem to find the solution. the closest thing I can figure out from the manual is the phone package was turned off? i didn't even know that was possible. of course it says to put the key in the ignition to turn it on or off which as you know you can't do.

I have recently leased a 2014 VW Wolfsburg Edition Passat. It has the carnet feature on it. I am currently experiencing that my phone is not playing through my Bluetooth setting. I will listen to either spotify, or Pandora. When listening to the streaming music the car will play one song and when it goes into the next song it stops playing all together through the Bluetooth, however it is still playing on the phone. I took it in to the dealership where I got it to service this issue and was given a loaner car. I could play the Bluetooth in the 2013 passat with no issues....but get in my car and it will wither play one or nothing at all! They are saying that there is something in my phone causing this issue. For it to work in my old car no problem, which was a 2011 Jetta, and the 2013 with no problems. So I have a hard time seeing it has to do with my phone. So ok n my phone I did a factory reset....and went back out to the car...and it is still just playing one song and then stopping.

I was wondering how do you add your phone contacts to the Bluetooth because I can't seem to figure out how to do it so when I want to call somebody I have to pick up my phone and find the contact. I just need a step by step process remember my 09 ES isn't equipped with Nav.

I just got a myTouch 4G from T-Mobile and although it connects though Bluetooth, it immediately disconnects after a few seconds. My old cell phone connected just fine.
T-Mobile blames Volvo. Where do you think the problem lies? I'm guessing the 4G phone has new features related to Bluetooth so perhaps the car's Bluetooth software needs updating? You'd think the new phone would be backward compatible but oh well.
My XC60's Bluetooth version is 5.00.17L. Looking at the Volvo's Bluetooth page, the compatibility test dates are mostly October 2010 so it seems the vehicle's Bluetooth may need an update (the myTouch 4G won't connect to a 2011 Audi Q5 either). [URL] .....
I sent an email to Volvo customer service asking them to do a Bluetooth software update that supports new 4G phones (if that's the problem).

I have had the same android cell phone for over 3 years and have had my 13 GS350 for the same with no problems before..
In the last month whenever I get into my car the Bluetooth in my car does not recognize my phone. I have to turn off my Bluetooth from my phone and turn it back on. No problem then for the rest of the day. Everything works ok until the next morning.
Is the problem with my phone or with my car?

I have a customer who is experiencing some difficulty with his bluetooth. The car is a 2013 ES350 and the phone is a Droid phone with Verizon service.
Customer is claiming that the phone keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from bluetooth on its own, sometimes several times per commute and sometimes to the point where he has to reconnect himself.
Why the connection would be interrupted like this?

I just bought 2012 Prius Model 4 with the solar package and upgraded Nav. Love the car. I have a problem with the contacts in the phonebook. My iPhone has over 2000 contacts from work. Can't and don't want to load them all. I can't figure out how to load or create a contact without using my bluetooth phone.

Just bought a Certified 2012 2.5 SE about a week and a half ago but I have a question. I've connected my iPhone through the system just fine, but the system automatically added it as a bluetooth media device as well.
The problem is, It automatically starts trying to play music no matter what I'm listening to (usually SiriusXM)... In order to save battery, this pretty much forces me to either;
1) remove the phone from my pocket and turn off the player each time I get in or connect it to the charger cord.
2) Go through the menu and disable to media portion on the MFI.
Trouble is, either method seems to be a temporary turn-off.
My question is this... Is there any way to permanently disable JUST the media portion of the bluetooth connection without disabling the phone part?
