How to reset the window limit on a mk7 golf? I installed power folding mirrors with new modules the passenger side window goes up and down fine but the driver side will only go up half way then does back down like its hitting something.
View 1 RepliesWhen pulling down my drivers window and then pulling it up it gets stuck half way up. I have to push the window hard toward the outside while pressing the button to get it back up. If I am pulling down the window and stop before this point, I have no problem pulling it up again.

The problem began when a small accident damaged my driver's side door check (the small bar that keeps the door from swinging open too wide). The check was bent, and the window stopped going all the way down. When I removed the check, the window worked fine. Now I've replaced the check. The door works fine, but the window problem has returned.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 Montana (same as Venture). The driver side window will get stuck half way down and the motor will grind. You can then run it back up, but when closed it will grind again.
View 4 RepliesHad window on drivers side all the way down. Went to push button to raise. Window gets gets half way up and I hear a loud snap! I continue to push button and raised window all the way up. Now I hear wind and whistle sound. Does not seem to be as tight? Afraid to lower window as it may not raise again... Does this sound like the typical window regulator failure? My warranty coverage "excludes " window regulators, go figure. Their brochure says window motors and regulators covered. View 6 RepliesPulled up to subway today and hit the switch to put the window down for my order. paid the lady got my order hit the switch but the window went half way up and stopped! drove off and tried to make it go down or up, nothing! tried again in a couple of minutes then it went up. I haven't done anything since. Am I looking at a huge repair? Never had a problem before.

It will either lower and then not come back up, or not lower when the button is pressed.
Most of the time the button is tilted downward.
I have a mkvi gti with all stock suspension except rear sway bar. And I'm right about to order driver gear springs. But have a question about suspension. My rear driver side of the car sits about half inch lower then then rear passenger side on a flat ground. Would this be caused by springs? Or struts? Or what. Planning on ordering the driver gear springs but what the real problem is. I want the driver gear so I'm a bit lowered but not crazy low since the roads in my home town are awful and my street I have to do figure 8's all the way down it to not hit a pot hole.

View 8 RepliesThe drivers windows when engaging the auto up will close then go back to it's previous position. I physically have to keep the button engaged for the window to close... Otherwise, it works...

View 9 Repliesrecently my friends driver window in her 2002 passat has stopped working. her car has automatic windows and im hoping its something simple. she doesnt know much about cars, but she says that the window was making a weird noise and her friends dad thought maybe it came off of the track. the window was rolling down halfway than bumping its self back up. than one day it got stuck down at halfway so her friends dad pulled it shut. And now the window is completely stuck up. all of the other windows are working fine.

View 10 RepliesHard to replicate this, but my passenger-side window "clicks" sometimes when going back up. Not sure if it has to do with humidity or not.
I think this is expensive to repair, so I wanted to get some opinions on this. Right now the car has 27k miles on it (I believe the standard warranty ends at 36, right?). If I only hear the noise a few times a month, should I be overly concerned with this? Is this normal in cars? The speed at which the window goes up is normal and matches the driver side (which does not click).
Every time I get maintenance done (for example, just got the 30k done today), the mechanics always tell me that they can't find it/don't know what I'm talking about.
Ok so here's the deal.. A few weeks back I started to notice my passenger side window started to roll slower than the driver side, not by much but its pretty obvious enough every time you either roll the window down or up.. I made an appointment with a VW service center to have them look at it but they said they can't do anything about it .. Is this true ..? The service guy told me that their would be no way to make the motor of the window go any faster or slower.. However I'm back here again due to some clunking/ticking noise every time I roll my pax side window which develop during their first assessment.. So they ordered me a new window regulator which is getting put in now.. The main and initial problem as to why I made an appointment in the first place was for VW service center to fix my pax side window rolling a bit slowly. Now since they are replacing the regulator of my pax side window I asked the service guy whether this would fix the problem of the window rolling slower compare to the driver side and he bluntly said no.. "we cannot make the motor of the window go slower or faster".. Is their any way to fix the rate of the window to go up or down..?
View 6 RepliesMy drivers side window slows or gets stuck half way up. If I grab the window and pull up as the motor is running it will make it past. Sometimes it slows then makes it past on its own. Does that sound like a bad regulator or a weak motor?
View 11 RepliesI have been having problems with my drivers side power window on my 06 Ford F-150. At first, it would roll down, but wouldn't roll back up, so I replaced the switch. After replacing the entire power window control switch, if you push the switch for the drivers window down, it will start to go down, then stop, and you have to press it about 20 times to get it all the way down. You can definitely hear the switch clicking off. All the other windows work perfect. I took it to get the oil changed and asked about it, and they said to change out the regulator, which I did, but the same thing happens. I checked the fuse and that was fine. Is there a relay or something I should check?

What I mean is, it rained this morning, I left my house maybe 4-5hrs after the rain had stopped, suns out, mostly everything is dry, some spots of water on the roof.. I pull out of the drive way with my windows open, and as i go to make a right turn a waterfall of water falls down onto my door panel, (near the mirror & window controls)..
I don't get the water coming in on the passenger side in the same way.. well really I don't get any.. even if i make a left turn.. maybe im just being dumb for opening my window? but I've never had that happen in any other cars..
I just bought myself a MKIV .:R and it is outstanding. Im slowly getting it up to my spec. The driver side window switch doesn't like to work to roll the left window down. The double down feature works great but not the momentary part of it. All I can find are switches for the 4 door.
View 10 RepliesSo since I got my GTI, I've had a streak on the outside of my window running vertical. I can clean it off, and the next time I roll my window down and then up I get a streak. I'm assuming something is in the door causing this?
View 6 RepliesSo it started when the auto up DID work, and when it closed, it automatically came back down. In order to close the window, I had to use the switch in the non-auto mode. Now, the auto up and down don't work.
