My wife likes to use the digital speed display on the dash, and someone I made it disappear. Avg. speed is there but real time speed is not. How do I get it back?
This is the location I am talking about....
Install new HV Battery in 2005 and now I have no dash display lights.
View 2 RepliesI have a 1997 Sedan Deville with a digital dash. Recently while driving the center portion of the dash went completely dark and has not come back on. The left portion that displays the AVG/EST MPG works as does the right side portion that displays the Climate Control temp and the outside temp. Another sympton is that the turnsignals physically work but the interior right and left indicators do not illuminate when the signals are activated. Also when switching from low to high beam the hight beam (blue) indicator does not come on in the center display, nor does the information bar at the bottom of the display. Probably just a coincidence, but this seemed to occur shortly after turing on the windshield wipers. There has been no mechanical or electrical work done on the car recently. I found a 10Amp fuse located in the trunk that the manual identifies as a link to this display, but it checked ok.
View 14 RepliesThe digital display in the cluster, sometimes it works perfectly fine and its clearly legible and bright as day. Most other time however, the lighting or whatever in it gets really dim and the text gets really dark and hard to read. I usually have to cup my hands over the cluster to get it really dark and then i can see what it says. Like i said though, sometimes it could be broad daylight and its really bright and easy to see, but most of the time its not.
View 10 RepliesA couple weeks ago, the "average fuel economy" display on my 350 F-Sport disappeared - when I'm looking through the different displays, it skips straight from "average speed" to "current fuel consumption". All the other displays are still there, so I'm not sure what caused this. I'm wondering if I'll have to bring it in to the dealership.
Some info about the car: It's a 2014 IS 350 F-Sport with ~6000 miles, and it just had its first service a few weeks ago (shortly before this problem started).
The gear display on the right of my screen has disappeared. The display when in "M" works normally. and the transmission seems to work normally. I haven't done a thing to it except drive it. I'll be going in for an oil change in a few weeks but I'd like some input from the group about this.

The digital speed display would be real useful here as the cops are sticklers in the city about the speed limit.
Will the VAG cable do it? I'm still trying to dig it up but most of our stuff is still in boxes.
I've owned Acura's for 15 years total and now own my first Lexus. Loving it so far. Just bought a used 2013 GS350 luxury package with only 12,000 miles believe it or not. Spectacular condition. Loving it so far after 4 days!
Quick condition, is there a way to permanently display the digital clock somewhere on the nav screen or is the analog clock the only option? Not a big deal, but prefer digital clocks.
The odometer only displays partial pieces of the digital numbers. Can this be fixed? If so, how would you go about it?

View 6 RepliesNoticed a digital "shadow" to the electronic speedometer display? Below is a picture of what I'm seeing. It's not a viewpoint or reflection that goes away from a different angle. It's like there is an alignment issue or something.. I know the display image is a projection from below, to create a distant focal point. But I see this image shadow.

I was driving to the store today and about halfway there the truck kept the same rpms but I was losing speed. The wrench lit up on the dash, checked the tuner (nothing out of the ordinary) so i pulled into the nearest parking lot and shut her down. The tuner is just there for my dpf delete and is set to "no power" or stock settings. It's a bully dog triple something or other. I don't race the truck or work it very hard for that matter. Basically a work truck that hauls more people than trailers.
Lifted the hood, checked the tranny fluid level and the stick was dry as a bone. Thing is, it's winter here and i haven't noticed any transmission fluid leaks anywhere ever. I'm gonna head to the local (two hour drive one way) parts store for fluid in the morning with my dads truck.
I'm wondering where it went? did it burn up or leak out and I didn't notice? Just wondering where to look first when i get it back home. Or did i simply fail in my maintenance checks (i admit i change my oil and fuel filters religiously but haven't checked the trans fluid) and it ran out??

View 23 RepliesThe digital dash went out a while back and I never fixed it. Now if the lights are on dim the left headlight will not come on and the right will flicker like a strobe. When the brights are on, the right works normally, but the left will flick on and off. When the left light goes off the speedometer quits working, the abs and trac lights will come on, the cruise quits working, and the wipers quit working. Sometimes it works normally, but the problem is more frequent of late. Hitting bumps in the road seems to effect it sometimes, which points to a short or something poorly connected. Is this a multi-switch issue or a lighting control module issue, or both, or something else.

View 8 RepliesToday I was driving my R in third gear shooting up a hill and as I was accelerating the car jerked and cel light flashed and then disappeared. I lost power for a quick second and then was restored, I just recently did the 80k service... O2 sensor maybe? There is no lights on the dash....what could it be? My tires handled great
View 12 RepliesI have previously noted that the Prius display of speed is about 1 mph higher than actual as measured by GPS and those ubiquitous street radar signs. However, the OBD-2 display using the Garmin Mechanic exactly agrees with the GPS. I wonder how this relates to the well known display mpg being 3mpg or so higher than actual measured by tank fill-ups.
View 5 RepliesMy owners manual says that when cruise is turned on there is a "cruise" symbol in the color MFI - that works as advertised. It also states that after pressing "set" at speed the set speed should also be displayed.
Do a 'set' speed display with cruise and if so do you have NAV or not. Do you have Color or Red MFI ?
What VIN series - I am 37XXX
I had this in my 06 Passat, it was turned on by the dealer I guess, my 08 Passat doesn't show it. I know there's a little trick but can't find any info.
