View 5 RepliesSo today i noticed my driver side control for the windows wouldn't make my passenger window go up. It will make it go down and thats it. I was able to open and close it with the passenger control but what could be the potential problem/fix could be I'm not under warranty so figure it will be cheaper to fix on my own. Would the door panel have to be replaced with new controls or do i have any other options?
View 1 RepliesHow do you activate the opening and closing of all the window from the driver side controls?
I had this working once before and for the life of me, I can't seem to get it working again. I went through the convenience menu in the mfd several times and I can't seem to find it in the manual.
Can getting an ecu update or tune remove this feature?
I just got done repairing the 6x9 speaker in the passenger side door and all went well, except the passenger window switch now blinks and will not roll down/up from the driver side controls! I've removed the panel and double checked all connections and no dice. The window rolls up and down fine using the passenger side control, but not the driver's side. The blinking pattern on the control is two blinks...pause...two blinks...pause...
View 4 RepliesI managed to scrape the passenger door (mostly just the paint) on my 2014 Prius. I got it back from the shop yesterday and just noticed that I can no longer roll down the right rear window using the controls from the driver's seat. I can still lower the left rear window from the driver's seat, but the only way to open the one on the right is to use the switch on that door.
View 5 RepliesHopefully this isn't a big issue, but I got in my car this morning and tried lowering the windows and only the driver window would function from the driver controls. The windows work fine with their own door control, but not from the driver's seat.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2010 prius and my driver main controls don't work. My driver window has no auto function but still rolls up and down but my door lock controls and all other window controls are completely non functional. I don't know what to do!!!
View 19 RepliesHeadlights work, done and door lights also work. Radio, door locks, and window controls do not. Car will no longer start and it doesn't seem to be the battery or starter, but I may be mistaken.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 Bonneville. Just recently the doors will lock and unlock on their own. The controls(windows/mirror) and lock on the drivers side works intermittently. The window and locks on the passenger side work correctly. At least I haven't found a time they don't work. Coincidentally, things started acting up after the drivers side widow was left open and a little rain came in. I have removed the mirror/window control panel from the drivers side, unplugged the connector, cleaned and put electrical grease on the contacts.. I did the same thing with another connector I could reach inside the door panel.
View 3 Replies I was on a highway on my Toyota Sienna LE 2012 today and hit a minor bump (the steel protrusions on road you feel when driving over a bridge) I first thought the tire pressure signal come on, slowed down and it seemed OK. All indicators - Check Engine, ABS, VSC, Brake, Pressure, etc were also ON, speedometer, odometer not working and I stopped under a mile at a gas station. Turned off car, checked tire pressure, it was OK and restarted car - all indicators still ON, speedometer, odometer and power window controls do not work. Steering feels tight but I can drive car - I was on my way to JFK Airport and on Beltway Pky East another 10mi to go yo JFK. Car drove fine, but with all these indicators on, and steering what felt like manual.
I plan on taking car for service tomorrow but I have never remotely experienced anything like this on a car. I am also worried I messed up the car (and dangerous if something else happened...) driving to get to the airport. What could have gone wrong?
Don't have a clue what's happening here or where to begin looking but about 20 seconds after cranking the truck ALL my instrument panel gauges go dead, radio goes dead (nothing on it's display) and my driver door controls all stop working simultaneously. Funny thing though, I can still see what the computer sees with my edge insight that's plugged into my OBD2 port and all those read as normal. The engine still runs and I can drive with no issues. My headlights still work fine as do all my signals.
View 4 Repliesmy 2005 Camry XLE has the JBL speakers and the Toyota navigation system. The speakers sound fine when I first start up the car and play music but the sound becomes distorted and crackly over time (it begins in about 10-20 minutes of driving and gradually gets worse from there). The audio quality degrades much faster at higher volumes and is very pronounced in the front speakers. I initially thought only audio from the front speakers degraded, but after disabling them I found the rear speakers suffer from the same degradation issue. It happens regardless whether I play music off of a CD, radio or my iPhone hooked up with an FM transmitter. What could possibly cause this problem?
View 1 Replies2005 Camry LE. My aftermarket radio stopped working with some crackly noise occasionally. Then it started working occasionally. It had been working for several years. Popped the original radio/cd player into the spot while I figured out what I wanted to replace it with. CD player didn't work on the original, put it had been stored in the garage for years. Now, the original radio has gone out with what was described as a horrendous noise. So, what do you think? A short in the wires somewhere?
View 2 RepliesSo I've been noticing some issues with my 2011 GTI with only 1800 miles. I had some weird drive by wire issues, like the motor holding its RPMs with the clutch in for excessive time, a start up and idle issue (TPS?), my passenger window is very slow (heard that this is common), and now my driver window hesitates and pauses when rolling it down... ERR!
And yes I will take it to the dealer, its just that I live 100 plus miles away.
Two weeks ago my airbag light came on and I got an airbag fault message. A week later the MFD controls on the steering wheel and the DSG paddles just stopped working. I had searched around and found that some people had issues with the clock spring. I brought the car to the dealership and they mentioned that maybe it was the clock spring, but after checking everything out they told me that the horn buttons needed to be replaced and that they were causing the issue. I have a hard time believing that this is the issue because the airbag fault popped up a week before the MFD controls and DSG paddles stopped working.
View 1 RepliesYesterday I got in my car and went to open the little "door" underneath the air controls and it was stuck! Tried several times pushing down hard and gently trying to lift up but nothing was working. Finally decided to give it a good push open and it opened but made a pop sound. Thought I broke something but I think everything is all good. It got stuck on the MDI cable.
Why did they go with the MDI cable anyway? Why couldn't they just stick with the aux/usb port!? And the location of it is not ideal in my opinion. Definitely makes texting while having my phone plugged into it difficult.
I'm going to need to install a Nokia Bluetooth car kit on my MkVI in the summer at latest and was wondering how to get the radio and AC controls out to do it.
Radio naturally needs to come out to connect the kit to it (or its power cables anyway), but I was thinking of installing the kit's control unit under the AC controls, to the side of the center console on the inside of it.
I guess the control unit's wire would then go into the dash from between the AC control panel and the center console somewhere. That was my plan anyway.
Is there a way(Maybe through VAG-COM) To change the steering wheel radio controls so that they switch through the radio presets instead of just scanning up or down the frequency's?
View 9 RepliesI know it's just one bulb behind the fan speed control knob. I also know (or was told, rather) that the lighting color is red because of some red plastic doo-dad. What I don't know is whether or not this plastic is red because of a film or coating applied to clear plastic or if the plastic itself is red.
I work at a graphics shop so I've got translucent vinyl film in various shades and tints of blue. If it's a film or coating applied to clear plastic that makes the lighting red, I could probably remove it from the plastic and apply a blue film. I'd really prefer not to take apart the dash to remove the HVAC controls only to find out that I'm stuck with red lighting.
I have never seen a car with more electrical problems in my entire life. Everything is wrong with this thing. Driver door controls don't work. The only way to get the driver door to roll down is if i take the positive of my battery and put it back on, boom window rolls up and down for 10 mins and than stops working. It literally seems like if i take the positive off my battery it solves all my issues and everything works. The car wont even start in 15 degree weather. I don't even want to know how long it will take me to start this thing in -30 weather. Its got a very loud knocking noise in the right rear. I Haven't been able to go to school for a week cause the thing is stuck in my driveway.
View 4 RepliesBack in the day with my MK4 I was able to roll the windows up/ down etc with my key fob's lock/ unlock buttons when I installed a program I purchased from ECS.... Is anything like this available for the MKVI?
