New GTI. I can manually put all 4 windows down and open the sunroof then get them all to CLOSE by holding the lock slot on the door but I simply cannot get them all to open at once holding down the driver window switch. I'm doing exactly what the manual states to do. With ignition off. But with power either on or off this doesn't work for me.

Is this a function available on the Passat? I tried it with no success.
The 'convenience closing' feature on my Phaeton - as described in the two excerpts from the owner manual posted below - is not working. I can't close or open the windows using the key blade in the driver door lock, and I can't close or open them by pressing on the keyless access locking button on the driver door handle.
This has both myself and the Phaeton tech at my VW dealer perplexed. The Phaeton demonstrator at the dealership does not perform any of these functions either.
This feature works on your Phaeton? I am especially interested to hear from folks who have used a diagnostic scan tool (VAS 5052 or VAG-COM) to turn off unwanted chimes and buzzers. Right now I don't know if I have a problem with the car, a problem with the coding or adaptation of the car, or if the NAR Phaetons just don't perform as the owner manual describes them.
how common a problem it seems to be that our fans just stop working. Replacing those later this week.
My question is concerning my AC not working. Is it possible that, since the two fans won't work at all, the AC system won't engage? Or do I have two completely unrelated problems?
So I completed the install of the OEM reverse camera with ECS wiring harness. I followed the wiring diagram, tapped into power at the back of the head unit according to this thread but nothing works. Neither the hatch lever nor the camera. I have to open the hatch manually from the inside.
I double checked the wiring diagram and everything is correct. I also plugged the old hatch wiring harness directly into the new camera by bypassing the ECS harness, and afterwards the hatch lever actually works... however, with the wiring harness installed, with the old hatch wiring harness inserted into the ECS wiring harness, the hatch lever does nothing.
Does the handle need power to function?
Did I tap into the wrong location for power? I was going to use a fuse tap, but couldn't get the fuse tap to plug in so I used the head unit. Where did people tap into for power? Did people use the red/white wire at the back of the head unit? I redid the connection with a simple twist joiner but things still don't work.... I also ran a new power line through the car to see if that would solve things. So is my problem:
1. faulty wiring harness
2. improper power supply
3. faulty camera unit
4. other.
I've replaced fuse underhood and fuse inside door panel. I've read about in the glove box there may be a fuse there for power windows? I removed the glove box panel to find 4 relays. Nothing is marked on these relays or panel. I read the numbers off these four relays inside the glove box to the clerk and she did not show any such thing on her computer for my vehicle. can a person pop out the main driver door switch and replace that?

I recently noticed that using my spare keys w/ my R disabled my vagcom tricks / convenience settings I had done. When going back to my original keys I use 99% of the time, these vagcom tricks become active again w/ no problem. I've gotten the following vagcom tweaks done to my '13 Golf R;
- convenience feature to open and close windows using key
- 4 convenience blinks (instead of 3) when switching lanes
- horn disabled when locking the car
On my is, I can remotely open and close the windows and sunroof with my key, by holding the buttons for several seconds.
I seem to remember that this function was engaged by my dealership. however i do not like this function, as I always carry my key in my pocket, and have several times opened the windows by accident because the key button have been pressed while i have the key inside my pocket.
I want disengage this function, preferably without visiting my dealership. Any step by step manual or how to do instruction? Does not say anything about how to do this in the cars manual.
OK I have a 2002 VW Bug TDI and yesterday I got into the car and the windows, sunroof, and mirrors did not work all are power. Now for the fun part. When I leaned over and tried the window button on the passenger side the doors locked. So on the drivers side the window buttons do nothing and the lock button work just fine. On the passenger side the the lock button does nothing but the window button locks and unlocks the car. As best as I can remember the windows worked normally on Monday. I have not looked at the fuse box but would that cause the window button to work the locks?

View 2 RepliesWhen holding the key to the lock position the windows should go up and if held to the left to unlock they go down. This rarely works on my car, i can sit there for 10 minutes and try it 100 times but it will only happen twice.
View 6 RepliesI have a 1974 Mercedes 280 C. Two of the power windows no longer work...the driver rear (stuck down) and the passenger front (stuck up). The problem started with middle console switches...the right bank (passenger controls) the small chrome surrounding piece popped off and caused the switches to get stuck then fall apart. I was trying to put them back together and got a spark...ooops car was on and i was using metal tweezers...then the rear driver side no longer worked??? others work. Do the switches need to be replaced or is it a bigger electrical problem. Checked fuses...all fine.
View 2 RepliesWell now I have to replace the multi function switch due to moving my steering wheel and the headlights sometimes working and turning signals not working. I saw a great video on youtube about changing a Multi Function Switch and it shows where the air bag needs to be removed. I was hoping that since my truck is an older 1997 F250 LD I wouldn't have to remove the airbag. Is there a way to do this w/out messing with the airbag on the 1997?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 jetta GLI (vr6 6 speed) that i received from a friend because of some body damage to the doors mainly. so i replaced the doors with some from a 2001 jetta glx, but the power windows don't work with the switches inside the car. However, when I put the key in the door and turn it, all of the windows will go up and down...(So the motors are good and they are getting power) the door locks, gas cap lid, trunk, sunroof all work and the interior lights work as well.
So i researched it and everyone said fuse #14 or ccm... so i replaced the fuse.... multiple times now just to make sure... After that didn't work, i bought a new ccm with the same part #. that didn't work at all... still same problems... I was wondering if maybe the new doors are or aren't CAN-BUS? if that even matters?
So the window switches and hatch release switch have decided they want to stop working. Along with actually locking my car from the inside or keyfob. I have checked all the fuses and the wiring looks to be intact. The hatch release switch doesn't work but the fuel door switch Does work. The passenger side window switch also isn't working and of course both Windows are down.
View 6 RepliesI'm curious whether something is wrong with the cooling function on my seats. While a +3 on the control seems to heat the entire seat rapidly and at a high temp, a -3 only gives me a moderate airflow out of the area under my thighs. Is the air supposed to flow out of the entire perforated region of the leather (upper back and inner-side sections) or is what I am experiencing normal?
Was thinking maybe I need to replace a component to get a stronger airflow out of the seat.
I just retracted the side mirrors with the switch on the door and then went back to the car and put it back and the function does not work anymore , although the mirror settings are still working .
View 6 RepliesI just bought an 2008 Prius and I cannot for the life of me get the AUX function to work on my stereo. I have my iPhone plugged into the jack inside the center counsel, hit the DISC/AUX key and nothing. The cable between the iphone and jack is good, because I tried it on other devices and it works great. When I have a disc inserted into the stereo the DISC/AUX button works when switching from AM/FM radio to Disc and the cd plays. But when I have the cd removed from the stereo and hitting the DISC/AUX switch it does nothing. What am I doing wrong??? Or is the stereo broken????

I guess I'm curious where the sensor is just to look and make sure it's not something stupid before going to the garage/dealer.
I had to replace the vacuum control for the heater in the dash panel. The fan worked good on all 4 speed settings but only in the defrost position due to the damaged control valve. The control valve works all position for the heater positions now. There is power at both sides of the heater fuse under the dash but no blower function. Is there a fuseable link elsewhere in the system to check. Is the fan motor only accessible to test by accessing the heater/AC under the dash on the passenger side. 1973 Crew Cab....
