View 3 RepliesMy daughter just replaced her 2006 Camry with a 2007 Camry LE.
Her husband has an issue with smoke, car fumes, etc., so they need to keep the ventilation system in recirculation mode all of the time. They know they can hold the recirculation button in for 2-5 seconds to override the system but that is a pain each time they start the car.
Looking for a way to modify the car so it is always in recirculation mode.
Couple ideas we had were:
1) unplug a vacuum control module (would this throw a code)
2) add a timed relay on the recirculation circuit to automatically simulate holding the button for 5 seconds each time car is started (would need wiring schematic)
Have a 2003 alero. Why the recirculation button for ac does not work....I press it and the blower stays at same speed when before it would blow the air stronger....
View 3 RepliesI bough this car (2003 Passat 1.8 turbo) recently and found that air is coming in on highway even air fan is off. I tried to turn on recirculation button, but it is not working (I can't even press it so it hold in ON position). I have read at some TDI forum that it might be air solenoid, but since my Passat is 1.8, location as I understand is different, But I can't find where it is.
May be I should check a fuse? if so where it is located?
I recently picked up my first Gen III after having traded in my Gen II. I'm certainly happier about a lot of things, but do miss a few things too. One being the option to turn air recirculation on when using the windshield defogger.
View 3 RepliesSo I went to my garage, and wanted to go warm up the car. Didn't realize it was in gear (since i don't sit in the car but just reach for the clutch and press the start button). Apparently it was in gear and it jerked forward.
Now my DRL's don't turn on when the headlights are off. When the headlights are on the DRL's turn on but is dimmed which is normal.
2002 jetta AC only works if I turn on and then start car
1- get in car, push in AC button
2- start car
3- feel cold air
4- will blow cold forever (if car is running)
If I am driving and turn on, it does not work. Seems that it trys to come on, kicks compressor for maybe a second then waits 5 seconds and trys to kick again. The pressures are high but in green (OK), when I first saw this I added a little Freon , it did not change characteristic.
When it does not work the rad-fan comes on and blows, When it works the rad fan blows as it should.
This is a 4-cyl 2.0 GL and does not have climate control...
So the other day driving to work i was driving my car to work, i put my turn signal on and after i turn it off it still kept doing the clicking noise. At first i thought i was just hearing stuff cause it was early and i was tired, so after work i checked it out again i sure enough it was doing it. It even does it sometimes without even first putting the turn signal on. My buddy and i thought it was a relay or a fuse. Is that right?
View 7 RepliesWhen I turn hard right & left, near the left wheel well there's a little metallic clicking sound. Either way I still don't what it is. Upon inspection when I removed the wheel the I noticed that the red portion with the large arrow is able to move clockwise and counter clockwise. Just curious as to whether or not this should be capable of happening.
Wheel baring, control arm and bushings have been mentioned from Le Shwab's workers... I dunno though I need Vortex's opinion
When collar 3 is turned all the way down it can't rotate, but I'm almost positive that collar 2 and 3 are suppose to remain in contact with one another to prevent movement of collar 1. Just making sure that my theories are correct.
There's a clicking noise in the dash behind the headlight switch and all the cluster lights blink on and off when I turn the key. If I try to start it-nothing! If I pull the key out and try again all the blinker lights stay on. Could it be my aftermarket alarm or something else? I didn't have much luck searching.
View 7 RepliesSo the Jetta developed a new noise lately that sounds just like what can be head on this video.
The spring-clicking kinda noise only happens when i make a sharp right turn at low speed and seems to be coming from the driver's side. So i though bad outer cv joint.
Well, I put on a brand new OEM unit last night and noise is still there.
I had the neuspeed springs installed last weekend and now the Front right side make a loud clicking noise every one turn on the steering wheel. it sounds like the springs it self. What could it be?
View 9 RepliesSo, I was about to go get something in the garage yesterday and the car didn't open. I know one of the fobs has a bad battery. Well I got new batteries and replaced them in both fobs.
Red light blinks can't unlock when clicking the unlock button nor does the smart function work. I get the little key out and open the drivers seat and think Shouldn't there be some lights on in here like around the power button? or blinking?
Usually when you unlock with the little key should you be able to turn lights on inside the car?
In my 2007 LS460 (Mark Levinson) the audio sounds are gone including button clicking sound, bluetooth, etc. Can I say that my amp was really busted? And for sure the brand new amp is very expensive so thinking to replace with the used amp if it was really busted.
View 1 Replies I recently purchased a 2009 Honda Civic EX. I also have a 2012 Honda CRV, and I'd like to set the key fob/car behavior like the CRV, in that when I click the unlock button, all doors open, instead of the 'classic' behavior one click drivers-side, two clicks both sides - is there a way to set this up ?
Also, I used to have a 2005 Honda Accord, and it had a neat option/behavior - hold down the unlock button after unlocking the car, and the driver and passenger side windows go down - pretty handy when you've parked the car during a hot day - can program that into the key fob/car ?
On my since returned 14 GS and now on my 16 GS, why is there no button to turn the A/C on and off? I have to go into the Climate controls to turn it on and off. Am I missing something?
View 10 RepliesI just bought my 09' LE a couple weeks ago and today had a "Maintenance req'd" light pop up.
Being certified and I had just got the car 2 weeks earlier, I began panicking. I read the owner's manual and saw it just means an oil change needed.
I read there's a reset button, any way to disable it? I know how to reset but I mean permanently disable it.
So after driving my new phaeton for 3 months i realized that my AC re-circulation does not work. When i press the re-circle button , it shows up in the screen. but i don't hear the sounds of the fan any different from deactivating the re-circle. i can smell the bad air from outside even though re-circle is activated.
I believe that the re-circle should function like in other cars. more strong air flow and more colder. Just wondering if it's just the switch that needs to be changed or if there is a valve/door under the dash that I need to look into.

So when I press auto(physical button) and have my temp at HI or 85, it turns on the AC as well. Why this is? I thought auto was supposed to adjust everything to get it to that temp. AC is also on when I hit the front defrost(physical button).
This is on a 2013 Premium with rear seat controls, and S Flow and 3 Zone is off, if that makes a difference. Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere, I'm still pretty new to all this coming from a 99 GS 300!
I have an Elantra 2013, the issue that I face is that when I turn OFF the A/C, the recirculation turns off by itself which I don't want as it will allow dust to accumulate through the open vents when the Car is parked overnight.
So each time I turn off the a/c, I need to press the recirculation button as well so I can turn off the car with recirculation ON. Doesn't happen in other cars..
