I had to disassemble the center console when I upgraded my sound system (aftermarket). I unpluged the airbag light in the middle console. Since then, the airbag light in the dash is on. I tried unplugging the battery for a couple of minutes but it did not work.

View 7 RepliesAbout a month ago I had new tires put on my car. A day later, the ABS/ESP light came on solid. I scanned and found a fault in the left rear abs sensor. I just got around to replacing it yesterday (what a b!tch that was..) and started the car.. no lights! I took it around the block, locked all four wheels, and called it a day.
This morning I was driving to work, got the car up to about 45-50.. and the ABS/ESP light came on and I lost AWD along with my ABS.
I parked at work, started the car back up, and the ABS light was just on. I drove about 10 feet and the ABS light went off and I was back to AWD goodness. Same thing happened on the way home however.. as soon as I got it up to about 45-50.. lights came back on. Shut the car off at a light, turned it back on.. ABS reset.. all was good...
Could this be a warped rotor? Something else? Ive not rescanned it when the light has come on yet.. that may tell me more..

What engine specific and overall maintenance todos should I put on the to-learn-and-schedule for-some-coming-weekend list. I would like to rebuild an engine one day, but have only witnessed two in person as the bystander and have a lot to learn.
So I took a road trip down to St. Louis only to find out my a/c did not work. I had not used it for probably like two months. The a/c light came on but the air did not get one bit colder. Purchased the car brand new back in June 2010 and it now has about 24k miles only. I'm just worried the dealer is gonna charge me because of my modifications/accuse me of abuse. I've got an intake, full exhaust besides stock headers and reflash.

View 7 RepliesI was driving 65 on the highway to work and I went to gas it and I heard a pop and lost all power. I looked at the dash and my oil pressure light came on. Then I saw a digital warning that said "STOP!" Needless to say I was scared and swerved across 3 lanes of traffic and shut it off.
So I let it sit for a little bit and went to check the oil level (mind you I just got an oil change 4 days ago) and the oil level appeared to be fine! Checked it several times since they are a pain to read. Then I tried starting it and gigs and it turned over ran for a few secs and died! So I sat there for a little bit about to call AAA and decided to try it one more time.
PRESTO! It started and I drove it slowly to work using back roads. I've been driving it for 3 days (very little) and no issues! Just really nervous! I took it to my local performance shop where I got the oil change and they did a vagcom scan and it said I have two sensors that need to be fixed. A cam sensor and a speed sensor.
Also you should know my b2s1 02 sensor was throwing a MIL light prior to this happening but haven't had time or money to fix it so ive been putting it off.

First off the gauge would drop to empty and fuel light would come on.
Replaced both sending units and the gauge was working from about 1/2 a tank to almost empty like is use to.
I fill the car up and now the gauge goes to just over 1/2 a tank showing but its full.
It will not read above half and even the miles to empty read about 150-170 ish on a full tank.
Have not used the fuel to under 1/2 yet to know if the reading will be correct after I use up more than 1/2 a tank.
The other day as I was coming home backing up into the garage a low oil pressure, do not rev above 4000 rpms warning popped up on the dash. Checked the oil which looked fine and then
decided to give it a scan, this is what popped up:

Being that I have an upcoming 1,150 mile road trip, I decided to take it in. Fearing the worst as all cars usually experience passing their warranty 35,xxx miles I awaited to hear the pain.
Got a call later that day from the dealer saying I had a faulty intake manifold runner (P2015) as well as a faulty steering column module which created the low oil pressure light. Needless to say the car was going to be kept overnight while they waited for the parts to come in from another dealer.
Needless to say after picking up the car, I didn't pay a penny even though my car was outside of the 30,000 mile warranty. Apparently there is an additional warranty and they were covered under it.
I've had this problem for a couple years now where my car will stall when I'm at a light or in traffic. I thought it went away when I installed new engine mounts, but that might have just been the seasons changing. I've noticed the more humid it is the more frequent it happens, and A/C kicking in seems to be causing it. What to clean or fix that might be causing this? I've read about "idle air control," but I'm not exactly sure what or where that is.
View 4 RepliesSo I will start the car, take off drive it for a few minutes (for like 15-30 minutes) I will come to a light, fine, then I will take off and she will stall on me. Completely turned off. Try to turn it back on and she doesn't turn over. She cracks, thats it. I will then wait a few minutes she will turn on and then few minutes later she will do the same.
The car has been sitting for some time and I haven't been driving it. We made sure the Throttle body is good. Someone told me it can be the crank sensor?
Yesterday i was on my way to fill 100oct, on my way i encountered heavy rains and big puddles. After 15-20min drive to the gas station i filled her up and setup the 100oct tune, after i noticed the check engine light was on and epc light too.
So i set her back to stock tune and back to 100oct tune and the CEL went away but the epc light wont go away. Why it stayed on? The car still runs good.
To start off, I have a '11 gti (33,000miles currently)with apr tuned stage 1 with CAI and catback . I've had the CAI & exhaust before the stage 1 tune before and it ran fine yesterday. I finally had to take advantage of the APR sale so I decided to tune it stage 1. The car ran fine after the tune on that day. (Just in case you might want to know, I tuned the car yesterday). I decided to go out for a drive this morning to get gas. All of a sudden, the car sounded weird and started hesitating (engine vibration). I pulled over to the side of the street and turned my engine off to cool things off. Once I started the car again, the check engine light came on blinking I believe if I remember correctly and then the EPC light came on also. I had to drive it back home since it's a Sunday and all the VW dealerships are closed (either service or parts department). I couldn't drive the car properly since the car was hesitating and felt like it was going to shut off. The engine certainly sounded weird and I believe the car was in limp mode I guess. I was wondering what can be the problem? I'm assuming it's probably a bad coil pack?

When I try to launch my car (esp off) at around 3.5-4, then when i drop it the car is fine for a second then the awd light comes on and the car acts like its not getting gas or it bogs down until the wheels catch again. hopefully this makes sense. Why its doing this.

View 4 RepliesI just got my car back. I had rear Final Drive replace. When I turn on the car, the ESP light was off. On the way home, the the ESP light came on and i won't able to turn it off even i push the button.
Also after i got home, I tried LC. The car was refuse to do it, is it possible the ESP?? I drove about half hour to get home so I know the transmission was not cold.
