Golf/GTI VII :: Adjusting ABS Power During Acceleration?
Sep 29, 2015
The ABS is kicking in during hard acceleration on a GTI... is there a way to tone it down with VAGCOM or is my only option to disable it?

View 11 RepliesI am adjusting my coilovers this weekend (Bilstein PSS10). Bringing them up a bit as the ride continues to be too rough for a daily driver. Would like to compare the height to stock.
Stock suspension height and wheels, looking for a quick measurement from the ground to the bottom of the fender edge (Across the center of the wheel) for front and rear?.
I called 2 VW dealerships but they couldn't give me an answer on how much adjustment for camber is possible. I did the search but only found rear camber adjustment info.
View 2 RepliesInstalled coilovers and took it for a drive today/tonight..I turned the headlights on and they adjusted side to side like normal..when they went to adjust up they moved like an inch..making it almost impossible to drive at night..I reset the battery and still the same scenario..is this a setting I have to change or can change thru vag com? Everything worked fine prior to install, and no I did not break anything.
View 7 RepliesMy sunroof opens and closes correctly. but when in the closed position it will be sunken into the cabin of the car a few MM not sealing to the body of the car tightly. how do I fine tune the sunroof to sit flush with the body when closed? some kind of adjustment screws?
View 4 RepliesSo a while ago I had no power. The car seemed to idle fine but when I would accelerate, there was no power. Being I just took this into the dealer for the same issue, could I have a bad diverter from the dealer or a possible bigger issue.

I started noticing this problem on the day I got the car tuned, I hadn't noticed it before hand. I replaced the spark plugs and it worked a little, but it continues to do it.
The problem: When I get on it at WOT under full boost, around 2500 rpms, the car loses all torque, misfires spits and sputters throughout the rpm range until about 5300 rpms then it all of a sudden has torque and pulls great.
I don't have any boost leaks that I know of along with vaccum leaks. There is no flashing cel or misfire code for my coil packs. Can this be a faulty n75 valve? if so what could fix it?
Having problems where sometimes the car won't go into gear, other times it's fine? The problem started after some hard acceleration in 3rd, there was what felt like a momentary loss in power. I dipped the clutch as I thought a boost pipe had popped off, all was fine (still seeing boost when revved). After this it got progressively harder to get gears, finally resulting in not being able to get into gear at all.
I found I could get it into 1st with the engine off and could go up gears normally, but couldn't change down without stopping and turning the engine off. The clutch is working fine, the biting point is normal. The problem seams to come and go randomly, it will work fine for a while and then start playing up again. When working the gearbox feels normal, there is no grinding or wining noises. I can move between gears normally and do clutch less gear changes.
There is now a vibration which can be felt at 1000rpm when stationary. It feels like it coming from the engine/gearbox and seems like something is out of balance as it shakes the whole car. The car is on 91k, supercharged running 470hp & 370lb/ft (at flywheel) and is fitted with a Spec stage 3+ clutch and solid flywheel.
How to step by step adjust the low beams. I looked at trying to do this and haven't got a clue. Do you need to remove the whole lighting unit or is there an adjustment screw you get to by feel, because you aren't getting in back of the light assembly from the engine compartment, maybe remove the wheel well guards? I think i'm in the market for a service manual. My motto is If it aint broke...........fix it until it is!!!!!
View 7 Replieshow to do this... The brakes can be down to the ground doesn't always hold on a hill. Plus it pushes down too easy in my pinyon

My mother just bought a beautiful 2002 Passat 4motion Wagon.
But, the only thing we can't figure out is the automatic seats...
She adjusted them for her driving, then I adjusted them for my driving, then she adjusted them again, then they adjusted to some weird setting when she unlocked the door!!
What we'd like to do is have it so that:
It defaults to her setting regardless, unless a button is pressed for something else. How do we set that?
Is it just me but why cant I adjust the cars temp without the fan running? I like to keep the air selector on fresh air from outside and since its colder now the air comes thru the vents cold. If I try to make the temp higher with the steering wheel controls it wont adjust unless the fan is running. Once I turn the fan on them make the adjustment I can then turn the system OFF and it will stay at the warmer temp. Whats up with that?
View 2 RepliesWhen I have it set to comfort, it will adjust up and down at just about every other redlight. Also when I get out sometimes the front will go down. Not leaking or anything there is a electro-mecanical type noise heard and both sides of the front go down the same amount. Is this normal?
View 8 RepliesWhen NOT using A/C, does adjusting the temperature up or down effect efficiency at all? Take for example, if the outside air temp is 75 degrees, is it be optimal to set the temp setting to 75 degrees and ventilate with outside air? (in this case, I assume the system doesn't really have to do anything except run the fan) If you set the temperature to far below the outside air temp, would you see an efficiency hit?
View 11 RepliesI have a 20th ae, and I figured how to lower the fronts a bit...but the backs, I tried searching but didn't find much......

View 6 RepliesThe 2 side mirrors get "lazy" after not adjusting them for a while, and won't respond to the electric lever on the driver's door. Even in the summer, I find myself playing with the lever for a long minute before it starts responding at all, usually I'll be moving it vertically all the way up and down, before it will respond also to any horizontal adjustment....
View 10 RepliesI was wondering if there is any way to easily adjust the parking brake so it bites tighter. I took it to Lexus of Pohanka and they told me that it's normal in a Lexus car to have to press the parking brake all the way to the carpet to get it to engage. I immediately debunked this when I recieved a loaner and engaged the parking brake and it grabs a lot sooner.
View 6 RepliesGot car back from inspection with driver mirror folded in. I popped it back out and tried to adjust, but it would only move up and down a little, and wouldn't move side-to-side at all. I then checked the passenger mirror, which hadn't been touched, and it didn't adjust at all (though it clicked once each time I pressed). When backing up, the driver mirror dropped to the curb position properly, but the passenger mirror didn't budge. Both mirrors had worked well previously and stopped working at the same time.
It seemed unlikely that the motors would give out at the same time, so I first wondered if it could be the switch, but the click seems to indicate that the mirror is getting a signal. So back to things affecting the actual mirrors...
In reading several posts, I came across one poster who seemed to be saying that he had this problem only on hot days, but not on cool days. My problem started (or at least I became aware of it) on the 1st over-90-degree day of the season, so that got my attention. This evening, after the outside temp dropped to the mid-80s, I tried again. This time things were somewhat better, but inconsistent. The driver side mirror moved up and down quite well, but side-to-side just intermittently. The passenger mirror moved slowly in all directions at first, but then stopped working again. I tried again when the temp dipped to 77 - left moved okay in all directions, right moved side-to-side, but not up and down. So it definitely seems to be affected by the outside temperature. I've had the car since March of 2015, and did not run into this problem last summer.
I'm wondering what this all means. Might something be gunking up from the heat, or are parts swelling or warping? I'm thinking of trying the fix posted by LS400_96 on 6/28/15 - if it's the same for an LX - though I truly am scared of breaking something. Or is it possible that it's somehow due to it being the FIRST hot day of the season? Might it adjust to summer if I just leave it alone?
2010 Prius IV. Map display not adjusting to night mode when her headlights are on. I tried looking at my 2014 Prius Three, not III because it isn't a 2010 and only 2010 used uppercase Roman numerals for model designation, to guide her through it over the phone but her menu options seem to be very different from mine as she didn't have an options button on her map.
View 2 RepliesI need to adjust the torsion spring on my trunk so that it opens fully when I hit the open button. As it is, it only pops up about an inch which sucks when you have your hands full.
To be clear....this is on a NON powered trunk (ie: the one where you can only OPEN the trunk from the key FOB and not close it with a trunk button).
