Sebring - Chrysler :: 2010 - Connector Removal From Brake Light Switch

How to remove this type of connector from the brake light switch? I've tried just about everything at this point. Sheer force alone doesn't work. There has to be some type of release mechanism I'm not seeing that allows it to disconnect.

Lexus ES 2007-12 :: 2010 ES350 - High Mount Third Brake Light Removal?

My wife's 2010 ES 350 third brake light has an intermittent LED issue. The last 3 LEDs on the pass side flash on/off when the brake is depressed. My understanding is there may be a broken solder joint. My problem is I can't seem to get the assembly out. How the high mount assembly is mounted and how to remove it?

Golf/GTI VI :: Parking Light Removal?

Okay, so coming from a MKV Jetta, I had zero trouble getting these lil bastards out. Though for some reason, I can't grab em for the life of me. I can feel it twist (They are now both horizontal, is this locked or unlocked position?), but NEITHER will budge (not like we have room in the tiny TDI engine compartment). Thinking of changing em out with Amber LEDs that I've got from my old Jetta. I can't even remotely see with needlenose pliers, so I don't wanna risk breaking anything.... Is there an easy way to get em out that I'm missing?

Golf VI R :: 2012 - LED Fog Light DRLs Replacement / Removal

So looking to replace the passenger side front LED fog light assembly as the one that's currently on the car has a bad seal or something and lets water in. I have a new LED assembly but I'm lost with how exactly I'm to get the new part in. I've searched for diagrams regarding the replacement of the part and found one diagram that said the front bumper had to be completely removed from the car but I find that a bit hard to believe... (Then again its euro so maybe it's not hard to believe). Can the lower intake grill on the passenger side not just be pulled out or something? 2012 Golf R MK6....

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: LED Light Strip Removal From Wolfsburg Wing?

I'm trying to track down why the 3rd brake light in the wing doesn't work and I've narrowed it to down to the LED strip being hooped.. I removed the two hard to reach screws underneath but the light still won't separate. Is there a clip or something else holding it on in the middle somewhere? That's where it seems to be not letting go.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Doing Brake Job - Rotor Removal Necessary?

I plan to attempt my first ever brake job on a 2008 Ford F-150 XL 4.2L V6 RWD with 50K miles on it.

I've done a lot of reading in order to prepare and from what I can gather it seems best to take off the brake rotor altogether in order to clean off the rust build-up and apply some nickel anti-seize compound in between the hub and rotor. I live in a cold climate and we use quite a bit of salt on the roads here so I thought while I'm changing the pads I might as well clean the rotors of all rust build up while I got the calipers off.

My only problem is that I only have a 265 foot pound torque wrench and the spindle nut that holds my rotors on calls for 295 ft. pounds torque. Also the Haynes manual says that you should buy a new spindle nut ($20 part) and cotter pin. I have neither.

So...I am wondering whether I should forestall taking off the rotor and just do some surface clean-up of the rotor with some Evapo-Rust Rust Remover then blast it with some Brakleen and call it good. I plan to use some caliper grease of course and a dab of nickel anti-seize compound on the backsides of the new brake pads. Is this bad practice, will I regret this in 50K more miles when the wheel hub is completely married to a rotor? How likely is that do you think?

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Rear Brake Drum Cylinder Removal?

I must replace my driver's side rear brake drum cylinder but I am unable to fit any socket or wrench on the backing plate bolts holding on the brake cylinder. They are rusted and never been touched I think; how does one remove the bolts holding on the brake cylinder without stripping them? There is basically no room for leverage and the walls of a socket are too thick.

Pontiac - Sunfire :: 2002 - Drum Removal For Rear Brake?

So I'm in the process of doing a rear brake job on a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. Drum brakes. And (shocker - especially for a northern car that never had the job done before) the drum won't come off. I've spent two days with a propane blowtorch, PB Blaster, and a 3lb hammer. No dice. It won't even budge.

So now I'm thinking about taking an angle grinder to the drum and just replacing both (probably necessary, as I'm sure it's in terrible shape). I'm really at my last option here.

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2000 XLT - Parking Brake Cable Removal

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out to detach the cable from the pedal assembly. The place where the cable attaches is so hidden by various plates, pawls and springs that there is no access. Also the whole assembly is put together with rivets so there's no easy way of taking it apart. Is there some trick to getting the cable out?

Also, I need to find out exactly where the cable goes through the floor pan. I'm in the process of fixing the rust on this. My 2000 XLT 4x4 and the floor pan and rockers were so rusted that there was no evidence of where the cable went through the floor pan! I assume it's supposed to go through the channel right next to the inner rocker but where exactly? A simple measurement from the back edge of the A-pillar is all I need.

Golf V R32 :: Low Brake Pad Warning Light Come On

Yesterday while doing a test run on my car, I had the "low brake pad" warning light come on in my car. I pulled the front wheels off to have a look and the pads looked fine. I followed the sensor cable to see if there was a short/open in it and I found on the vehicle-side of the wire harness that one of the wires came loose and detached from the harness. (that isn't a phenomenal description, but I hope you at least understand) Needless to say, I think I need to replace the wire harness. Is there a part number for JUST the plug, or am I looking at a whole assembly? With the searching I did, the only info I found was to short the circuit by cutting and splicing, but I would much rather fix it the right way.

Golf/GTI VI :: Parking Brake Light Came On And Won't Go Off

Tonight while driving along at about 30-35mph, smooth road, contant speed, straight, etc. I heard a continuous ding, saw a red light come on, and saw the MFD light up "release parking brake."

I checked and the brake was released as I thought.
I pulled over, set and released the brake a few times, shut the car off and restarted it.
The BRAKE light remains on the whole time though and I can not get it to turn off.
That isn't the bad part though, once you are under way the chime continuously dings until you stop again.

The brake is not set and is not dragging, I coasted in neutral and there was no noticeable deceleration. Also once I got home which was about a 45minute drive (a lot of fun with the chime sounding the whole time) I put my hand by the rear wheels and neither of them had much heat coming from them.

It obviously is an electrical glitch of some sort. Where is the parking brake sensor? is it inside the cabin or outside under the rear end somewhere? is there a fuse I can yank to get this to stop until I can bring it in to the dreaded dealership?
