Today my sunroof tilted open all by itself while I was driving, then it closed it by itself. Then it did it all over again.
A week ago it tilted open, I closed it by moving the switch to full open, then close.
In another post ("Sunroof Problem") I found one mention of this problem and the switch was the culprit.
I had to have the switch replaced?
Picked up my new Mk7 last night, but I have an issue with the sunroof. It slides back and closes just fine, but won't tilt! How to fix this? I have a VCDS if needed.

I was trying to close my sunroof just now and it starts to close but it stops just before the end and opens back up again!! What do i do about it?
View 10 RepliesProblem I'm having with my sunroof on my '10 GTI. The sunroof opens an inch and makes cracking/grinding noises. Then it needs a push on the actual glass while turning the nob in order to force it to close. And the tilt function ends up with one corner of the glass further down then the other. How to fix this problem or how to remove the headliner, or if it is worth bringing to the dealer? The dealer is the last thing i want to do because my warranty is up and those jerks charge an arm and a leg on labor alone.

View 4 RepliesMy 2008 has about 49k miles on her and my Moonroof started acting up the other day. The tilt function works perfectly. It even slides out to max open, however when I attempt to close it, it closes about 2/3 of the way then it acts as if it senses something in the way and opens all the way back up. I didn't take anything apart, but didn't notice anything in the rails. I also didn't hear any sort of grinding or stalling on the motor. If the motor is going bad?
View 2 RepliesSo my 04 GLS Jetta has had this issue for a while and I would like to find out why. If I pull the button for the trunk in the drivers door or press the button my key to open the trunk, nothing happens. The lights will flash when I press the button on the key but no sound comes from the trunk. Same goes for the trunk release button in the door. No sound. The only way I can open the trunk is to use the actual key and while I turn the key, I have to press down on the trunk. Turning the key alone will not open the trunk. It only opens when I press down on the trunk and turn the key.
Is this normal if the trunk release motor on the trunk goes out? I also have had the trunk open and did the button in the door and the key with nothing happening. How to troubleshoot this?
So, I'm pulling my hair out now. I loaned my car to a friend for a few months while I was out of the country and now that I've gotten it back, the rear hatch will only open with the key. I've searched online for days and tried several things but, nothing is working. Here's what's going on and what I've tried.
The back opens perfectly with the key (i.e. there's nothing stuck in the latch)
When I use the fob, the lights flash but the actuator doesn't move (there's no noise other than the lights flashing)
When I pull the switch in the drivers door nothing happens (can't remember if the lights are supposed to flash or not but they DON'T now)
When I lift on the handle in the trunk nothing happens
I've pulled the interior back hatch cover off and tried to activate the actuator using a 9V battery and it did nothing so, I thought it was a dead actuator. I just dropped $60 on a new one, plugged it in, shut the hatch and nothing happened....
I don't have access to VAGCOM or anything like that so, hopefully there are things that I can test w/o that?
Ok this may be a dumb post, but my MK6 Jetta 2.5 SE didn't come with footwell lighting that turns on when the door opens up. I want to know if there is at least a PLACE for one that I can install easily?
or is there a way I can get a footwell lighting kit that I can buy and install?
First day that is below freezing and my rear passenger driver side door is hard to open more than half way. I really have to push it to open all the way. How to fix this?
View 11 RepliesAfter getting my car washed on Friday I noticed that the key fob no longer opens the passenger door. It used to be that pressing the unlock button twice would open both doors. Is it possible that some combination of buttons or something caused this to stop working? The button in the door unlocks the passenger door just fine.
View 17 RepliesI found trunk in 2003 GTi won't lock, and new actuator(motor) didn't, either. No signal on the connector when I press key fob switch, through rear light blink. I guess there would be another connector to this wire(green and blue) somewhere inside the passenger side C pillar.

I don't have a boost gauge or anything like that installed. Do I start by adjusting the wastegate actuator, or install MBC. Pretty new to this still.
