So, just recently I noticed my car squeaks when I push on the gas pedal. I've researched up and down and can only seem to find that it is "Normal". It only happens at very low speeds (Stop and Go). I've read it could be anything from exhaust leak, DSG/ Tranny, belts or cv joints but nothing i've read seems to be exactly what I'm experiencing.
View 3 RepliesA few days ago, while on a road trip from CA to CO, I noticed a loud squeak from the engine compartment every time I pushed the brake pedal, no matter how lightly, no matter what speed. It even happened when the car was off. I have almost 60K miles on my '05.
When I arrived in Denver, I dropped the car off at a Toyota dealer for troubleshooting. They isolated the fault to a bad ABS actuator. They had to overnight the part, and spent a day and a half installing it. Sounds like a major project!
While pushing the gas pedal for acceleration from stop I feel the engine grunts more and then on its smooth. I don't have any lag in acceleration the car moves well. The car is 2008 Sonata 4 Cyl. the mileage is 137000. Is this normal for this mileage or something wrong. When I asked the service center guys, they replied they don't find any issues and everything is fine. It might be due to the mileage on the engine.
View 5 Repliesto explain exactly...Before coming to a complete stop,maybe driving 15-20 mph you can hear a squeek from the brakes.That is without riding the brakes.As soon as i press on the brake pedal eve very softly the sound disapears.Then when i am at a complete stop and slowly take off i will hear it again...eek eek eek.... then by 30mph plus it fades away.

After get the parking lot, I turned off engine, and used hand to push the brake pedal, I can hear same noise, which like a air or gas squeeze out. Seems not big deal to me, just like to see do you GX460 owner have similar thing or I need to to dealer again.

Removed #10 fuse in cabin and it stopped. So did the speedo. So thinking before I dive into a master cylinder or brake booster....replace sensor? So do I get the 4wd sensor or the 2wd?

M/T 2010 Sonata. I'm just out of warranty at 102,000 mi. No issues before with clutch. I noticed a clicking or crunching sound when pushing the clutch pedal down. I took a gander and noticed the pedal was traveling farther than it used to because there were indentations in the carpet. So this happens for about 3 days. Then I start the car and cant get it into gear. If I shut it off, it easily goes into gear and I can drive. Usually it is ok after that point but is getting worse. Mechanic briefly tried to bleed it but the pedal stayed on the floor. He was able to get it to its original problem but said if he replaces the master & slave cyl then might as well do a new clutch. Because I had no slippage, no pedal issues or anything prior to clicking. Is 102k miles and 6 years usual time for these components to fail?
View 2 RepliesSo towed the trailer down to a remote lake side spot over the weekend, pretty bad dirt road with lots of breaking bumps. Now pushing the break pedal creates a swooshing noise, and a vibration under the hood around the master cylinder, and the power steering whines a little bit. Took it two several mechanics and 2 think it's the pump, one thinks it's the hydro booster? I tried to bleed any air out by turning the wheel all the way maxed and pushed the brakes, did nut really work, but I did notice that when pressing the brake pedal and turning the steering wheel at the same time, it becomes extremely difficult too turn the wheel, makes me think it's the pump because there is not enough pressure to do both?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2010 GTI with 70K miles. At @ 40K the clutch began to exhibit sort of a slight sudder, and squeak when the car was fully warmed up, but only from starting from a stop on a steep uphill incline. The dealer could not duplicate the problem when routine maintainence was performed, At the 70K maintainence, they could duplicate the problem, and have told me that a new clutch from flywheel on is needed. The Diagnosis was $90 and could not have included any mechanical inspection. One of the Techs told me that there is a list of VIN's that VW apparently identified as having potential clutch issues. My thoughts are:
Even though the car is past the 60K powertrain warranty, the problem was brought to the dealers attention at @40K.
If the car is on the list, VW already knew there could be issues.
I feel that under the circumstances VW could be expected to cover 1/2 of the repair, since the car now has 70K.
Other questions if VW has no interest in working with me:
Can the flywheel be resurfaced? What would the approximate cost for labor to replace the clutch by an Independent garage? The car operates as usual, just with the one issue. I would like to have repair done fairly soon.
I have a 92' Escort GT and the clutch started to act up, it's not burnt cause it is fairly new. The clutch pedal feels slightly looser when pushing it to the floor, the feeling like a cable snapped or something?
I'm pretty sure the clutch is a hydraulic one, not 100% .. Is there a hydraulic reservoir that somewhere that might be low?
I started having a strange clicking sound when pushing down the clutch pedal. I have 43,000 miles on it and I have driven the clutch well(I really don't believe I already worn it up). It goes away and then it comes back. There is no problem on shifting from gear to gear, it works just fine. It is only when I push the pedal that it starts clicking like it pushing against something. The car dealership was so useless, they said I need a new clutch and that warranty does not cover it because I may have been using the clutch badly. Also do you think that they have the right to tell me it is my fault even though I have the extended warranty for 100, 000 miles.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2010 Toyota Corolla with a strange gas pedal problem. Randomly while driving the gas pedal will stop working. If I depress the gas pedal all the way when this issue happens it's as if I'm doing nothing. The car just goes to ideal. When I let off the pedal and reapply pressure it's like nothing ever happened. The car has 123k miles and an automatic transmission.

Since then my rear end has been making a creaking/squeeking noise while driving or pushing on the car side to side. The struts seem to be ok, there is no bounce in the car. What this could be? I was thinking some sort of bushing somewhere?
View 16 RepliesI have a 2005 VW jetta 2.0 engine 5 speed. Just replaced right control arm spark plugs wires and coil pack. I had a misfire only when it rained and it got rid of it! Driving home in stop and go traffic and My car stalls out a hear a bang and my clutch pedal drops to the floor. I had noticed some fluid loss but nothing was low I checked everything before I left work. I finally get it towed but I can not shift to first I can shift to 2 3 4 5 and reverse. I was in first when it stalled out during stop and go traffic while it was in first gear and i had the clutch pressed in. Everything Ive google says it is more than likely the Slave cylinder that is right below the air box. I found some that said it could be the release bearing in the gearbox for the tranny...

View 1 RepliesWhen the car is in drive, just about every time I press on the gas pedal, I hear a squeak, supposedly from the gas pedal. I think the only place this could squeak is the pivot of the gas pedal. I have tried numerous time to lubricate this pivot but no success. The last step would be to purchase the replacement part (gas pedal assembly) and install.

It does not sound like it is coming from the pedal. I have had a new clutch and transmission replace within the past 18 months. Someone mentioned the creak could be "dust on the slave cylinder." What this could be? Should I be worried? It shifts perfectly find and rides fine.
View 3 RepliesDrove my car for the time in a week, i picked up a 89 gli 16v, and when I shut the car off and was getting my backpack out of my trunk i started to hear like a weird noise, kinda like a pump was pushing fluid or air from the rear of the car, it did it for about 20 - 30 seconds then stopped. No cel light and only a lil over 50k on the car.

Started a few months ago didn't really bother me until now. Started when I would forget the parking brake is on and would just put the car in reverse & wouldn't move until I released the parking brake. Did it about 5-7 times and now every time I brake without the parking brake on, it squeaks & is really annoying. Is there any way to fix this or is it just gonna be complicated & expensive?
